In brief

The August 31, 2026 update to Clash of Clans enriches Town Hall 18 with five new levels for Pablo, two additional supercharges, and one modifier notch in Titan. But it's mainly on the fixes side that the game changes: the totem spell, the meteoric golem, and the Draconic Duke finally get back the behavior we expected from them.

The August update for Clash of Clans is live. Supercell published its patch notes in French on Monday, August 31, 2026, while the English version of the same post is dated August 30. The French App Store listing for the game, meanwhile, places the release of version 18.600.1 on August 31 shortly after 8 a.m. UTC, or around 10 a.m. in Paris: that's our conversion, as Apple only displays a Universal Time timestamp.

The post covers a lot of ground. This guide only deals with the advanced villages section: the new tiers added to Town Hall 18, the tuning of Clan War League modifiers, and the fixes that change how your troops behave when attacking.

Town Hall 18: one pet and two buildings — and its name is Diggy

The section is short, and that's exactly what's worth noting. Supercell titles it "New Pet Levels (TH18)" in the plural, then lists just one line: "Diggy: Levels 11-15." No other pet is affected. The same pattern shows up with the super weapons: the heading announces "New Super Weapon Levels (TH18)," but the list holds only two entries, the Builder's Hut and the Monolith.

What's gaining levelsWhat the post statesWhat it doesn't state
Diggy (pet)Levels 11 to 15, at Town Hall 18Cost, upgrade time, hit points, numerical effect
Builder's HutNew super weapon levels, Town Hall 18Number of levels, cost, gain
MonolithNew super weapon levels, Town Hall 18Number of levels, cost, gain

The right-hand column isn't a writing shortcut: the official post doesn't give a single value for these three entries. The cost tables circulating elsewhere don't come from this page.

The pet goes by two names depending on the language of the post. The English version writes "Diggy: Levels 11-15," the French version writes "Pablo : niveaux 11-15," and the patch notes on the French App Store listing confirm this by asking players to "improve Pablo." Two official French-language communications, one single name. Yet several French-speaking outlets publish the English name: if you search for "Diggy" in your French client, you won't find anything.

A second discrepancy between the two communications concerns the super weapons this time. The English version says "Supercharge the Monolith and Builder's Huts even more." The French version renders the phrase as "strengthen the Monolith, the Builder's Huts and more at Town Hall 18," which reads like an unfinished list and leaves room to hope for other buildings. There aren't any: trust the list in the patch notes, not the app store's tagline.

Clan War League: one notch gained in Titan, a plateau that remains

"Combat modifiers for higher-tier leagues now scale with your league progression, as was originally intended," writes Supercell. The end of that sentence amounts to an admission: the previous scale wasn't a balancing choice, it was a departure from the original intent.

LeagueOld modifierNew modifierGain
Titan ILegend ILegend II+1 tier
Titan IILegend IILegend III+1 tier
Titan IIILegend IILegend III+1 tier
Legend LeagueUnchangedUnchangedNone

The gain is uniform: all three Titan tiers move up by exactly one notch. This is our reading of the official table; the post does not state any total.

But the plateau hasn't disappeared. Titan II and Titan III used to share the Legend II modifier; they now share Legend III. Going from Titan II to Titan III therefore still yields no additional modifier: the fix raises the ceiling, it doesn't add a rung. As for the Legend league, its modifiers "remain unchanged" according to the post, which nowhere publishes their values — on this basis alone, it's impossible to claim that the gap with the top of Titan is narrowing.

One vocabulary precaution to finish with. These Titan and Legend tiers belong to the Clan War League, not to ranked battles. The French App Store listing displays the ranked battles ladder — Bone, Barbarian, Wizard, P.E.K.K.A, Electro Titan, Dragon, Electro Dragon, Legend — where the word "Titan" appears nowhere. Two distinct ladders, two progressions not to be confused.

Ruin Witch: two more summons, and they no longer decay

Two lines of patch notes, but they stack. "Ruin Knights no longer lose HP over time." Then: "The Ruin Witch now summons up to 10 Ruin Knights, up from 8."

Going from 8 to 10 represents a quarter more summons: this is our calculation, the post gives no percentage. Note the exact wording, "up to 10": the developer is announcing a cap, not a guarantee on every summon.

The removal of the HP decay likely matters more. The patch notes detail neither the rate nor the floor of that decay, they simply state it no longer exists. The practical consequence is simple: the value of a Ruin Knight no longer depends on when it was summoned. This is our deduction, not a statement from the developer. The post, however, specifies neither how these two units are obtained nor at which Town Hall level they become available: we are not extrapolating.

The fixes that will change your attacks

These are the ones that will change your habits the most, because they reopen combinations that many had abandoned.

  • Totem spell. Summoned totems "counted as 20 occupied spaces instead of one, which charged the Dark Crown activation and hit the Monolith deployment limit much faster than intended". A totem thus weighed twenty times its real weight: if you'd given up on pairing it with the Dark Crown or the Monolith, the reason has just disappeared.
  • Meteoric Golem. It "lost the effects and targeting of the Rage spell when splitting, launching, or merging". In other words, the effect dropped exactly at the moment the golem does what you bring it along for. Watch the wording: this is about the Rage spell, not the Haste spell.
  • Dragon Duke, first fix. His rocket jetpack rush "sometimes started without its flames or stopped too early", and the flamethrower "now correctly fires in the direction the Dragon Duke is facing".
  • Dragon Duke, second fix. He "now finishes his rocket jetpack rush before he can be eliminated, so that the phoenix's temporary resurrection mid-rush no longer cuts it short". The rush becomes an action you can plan for, rather than a gamble on when an effect expires.

Where to read these notes in French: the obvious link doesn't work

One last warning, purely practical. The path you'd think of first, supercell.com/fr/ followed by the game's name, returns a 404; the historic domain clashofclans.com/blog/ responds, but redirects to the English page. Checked on September 1, 2026. The official French blog does exist, though, at a counterintuitive path that starts with /en/ before switching to /fr/: supercell.com/en/games/clashofclans/fr/blog/. The content there is fully translated, header and body text included. That's the address to bookmark.

What to remember

For a village at Town Hall 18, the August 31, 2026 update boils down to three moves: launch Pablo's levels 11 to 15, unlock the supercharges for the Builder's Hut and the Monolith, then revisit compositions built around the Totem spell, the Meteoric Golem, or the Dragon Duke — all of which were hampered by bugs that no longer exist.

On the Clan War League side, the benefit is real but modest: one modifier notch for each of the three Titan tiers, and nothing at all for those climbing from Titan II to Titan III.

What remains is the point of caution running through the whole piece: none of these additions comes with numbers from the publisher — not the cost of Pablo's levels, not the gain from the supercharges, not the value of the modifiers. Until Supercell publishes them, be wary of detailed tables that claim otherwise.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find the official patch notes in French?
The obvious path returns a 404. Go directly to supercell.com/en/games/clashofclans/fr/blog/, which hosts the entire translated content. It's the only link that actually works.
How much does it cost to upgrade Pablo to level 15?
Supercell doesn't say anywhere. The exact numbers only appear in your game client, never in the patch notes. Same situation for the Builder's Hut and Monolith supercharges.
Is it Pablo or Diggy in my French version?
Pablo. English calls him Diggy, but the official French notes and the French App Store use Pablo. If you type "Diggy" into your French client, you won't find anything.
Does moving from Titan II to Titan III grant an additional modifier?
No. Both leagues shared Legend II, they now share Legend III. So the plateau disappears, but it doesn't really exist anymore: both levels remain at the same modifier.
Is the totem spell really worth it with the Dark Crown now?
Yes. Before, summoned totems weighed twenty times their actual weight and saturated the Dark Crown's activation far too quickly. That's fixed: you can revive the compositions you'd given up on.

Key takeaways

  • Pablo gains levels 11 through 15 at Town Hall 18, but Supercell hides the cost and upgrade numbers in the client.
  • The Builder's Hut and the Monolith receive new supercharge tiers, without published figures.
  • All three Titan leagues move up one modifier notch, going from Legend II to Legend III, but the plateau persists between Titan II and Titan III.
  • The totem spell no longer weighs twenty times its actual weight, which revives compositions with the Dark Crown and Monolith Arrow.
  • The Draconic Duke and the meteoric golem gain their true behaviors: the jetpack charge ends before resurrection, the golem keeps rage effects during its fusion.
