Halloween: The Game - guide to all skins and how to unlock them

If you want to collect all of Michael's and the civilians' outfits in Halloween: The Game, know that nothing comes handed to you on a plate. Some skins just require you to play, others demand hours of grinding, and a handful are flat-out reserved for those who put their money down on the Deluxe edition. Here's the full list, in order, so you know where to invest your time.

Michael's skins

Michael has seven appearances. Some are obtained by playing normally, others require a real progression milestone.

• Default - unlocked from the start, nothing to do.
• Inmate - reserved for players who bought the Digital Deluxe Edition. No in-game workaround possible.
• Phantom - available to those who pre-ordered the game, but also included in the Standard and Deluxe editions.
• Ghost - you need to complete all the Chapter challenges. The game has six chapters, each offering six different challenges. That's 36 challenges to clear, safe to say a mid-game goal.
• Clown - requires reaching Profile Prestige Level 1, which in practice means grinding up to account level 100. Long, but achievable for anyone who plays regularly.
• Scorched - same logic, but on Michael's side this time: you need to reach Michael Prestige Level 1.
• Stitched - unlocked by completing the Legend of Haddonfield, in the 1978 Michael progressive challenge collection. A goal that's more narrative-driven than pure grind.

For completionists who want to go all the way: there's also a variant tied to Tier 5 of The Shape's Approval, in the Shape Mastery Passive Challenge Collection. An endgame milestone, best reserved for those who've already done everything else.

The civilians' skins

Michael doesn't have a monopoly on style. Each playable character on the civilian side has several outfits, generally tied to progressive challenges or specific challenges.

• Eric - Outfit 1 by default, Outfit 2 by completing Topped Off, Outfit 3 via Chapter 2 challenge 4.
• Rachel - Outfit 1 by default, Outfit 2 by completing Not Afraid, Outfit 3 via Chapter 2 challenge 2.
• Tanya - Outfit 1 by default, Outfit 2 by completing Social Butterfly, Outfit 3 via Chapter 2 challenge 1.
• Marcus - Outfit 1 by default, Outfit 2 by completing Path Less Traveled, Outfit 3 by completing Chapter 1 in full.
• Laurie - Outfit 1 by default, Outfit 2 by completing Desperate Struggle, Outfit 3 by completing Chapter 4, and an Outfit 4 exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition.
• Richard - Outfit 1 by default, Outfit 2 by completing Sweet Talker, Outfit 3 by completing Born to Live.
• Alexis - Outfit 1 by default, Outfit 2 by completing Extrovert, Outfit 3 by completing Silver Tongue.

One thing to keep in mind before diving headfirst into the grind: outfits exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition absolutely cannot be obtained by playing. No hidden challenge, no secret milestone. If you want the Inmate skin for Michael or Laurie's fourth outfit, you'll have to buy the edition, full stop.
