Boosted Charge Blade: MHW Ascendance continues to unveil its new attacks

Capcom continues its weapon tour for Ascendance, the major expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, with a new trailer focused on the Charge Blade. This time, it's all about Boosted Actions, the new offensive options that beef up the hybrid sword-and-shield weapon.

The video details three mechanics: an elemental discharge described as literally able to crack the ground, energy-charged sword strikes that visibly hit harder than the current version, and an instant Phial charge system that eliminates the usual downtime before being able to bring out Sword Mode or Axe Mode depending on the combat context. On paper, this fixes exactly what was holding back quite a few players with this weapon: the somewhat lengthy setup needed before being able to chain big damage.

This "Boosted Action Breakdown" format isn't a first: Capcom has been releasing these videos weapon by weapon since Ascendance was announced, each one isolating the new features specific to a particular playstyle rather than burying the info in a general trailer. This approach lets players who main a specific weapon zoom straight in on what concerns them, without waiting for some future catch-all showcase.
