Halloween: The Game - tier list of the best civilians to play against Michael Myers

Facing Michael Myers, not all civilians are created equal. Some have a well-rounded stat profile, others carry weaknesses that doom you from the very first stalk. Here's how to choose based on your playstyle, drawing on the traits and stats available in-game.

The safe bets: Jennifer and Rachel

If you're just starting out or want to maximize your survival chances without overthinking it, pick Jennifer. Her Athleticism at 9 makes her the fastest civilian in the roster, and her Resourcefulness at 7 helps you blitz through objectives without dragging your feet. The combo that works: play it stealthy, and let her speed handle the moments when things go south.

Rachel plays an entirely different game. No crazy stats, but two traits that change everything: Vigilance Aura and Sixth Sense. In practical terms, you get access to information others don't have - and against a killer who stalks in silence, knowing where the danger is before you see it is well worth a bit less speed.

The solid alternatives

• Richard - Personality at 9, top-tier for interacting with NPCs. But zero combat potential, which keeps him from ranking higher.
• Lynda - Excellent for distracting Michael and breaking his stalking rhythm. The catch: she heavily depends on her teammates to capitalize on those openings.
• Marcus - Resourcefulness at 10 and the Lone Wolf trait. A true survival monster, but his potential really explodes when he's the last survivor going solo.
• Thomas - Very good at interacting with NPCs and helping them recover health. He's also the best choice for breaking a personal stalk. If he had more team-oriented skills, he'd clearly be in the tier above.

Use sparingly

Annie has good Resourcefulness and the Escape Strategy trait, which makes her efficient at finding quick ways out. Beyond that, she doesn't bring much to the table.

Eric shares the same Resourcefulness as Annie, but his sickly Athleticism (3) makes him an easy target for Michael. Best reserved for players who know how to compensate through positioning.

Bob and Laurie don't appear in this ranking yet - not enough in-game data to settle on their profile for now. Whatever your choice, always keep your escape options in mind: a good civilian is useless if you don't know where to get out when things go wrong.
