The Blood of Dawnwalker: finding the hidden Uriash Village ("The Mountain's Melody" quest)

Follow us on

In brief

Uriash Village hides in the west of The Blood of Dawnwalker's map, a region normally inaccessible. To reach it, you must first complete the "Volatile Association" quest, then follow "The Mountain's Melody" alongside Lacra by negotiating a pacifist approach against matriarch Bakr-Erga.

The hidden Uriash Village in The Blood of Dawnwalker is tucked away in the western corner of the map, a region so remote that most humans can't even reach it. Trying to climb the heights west of Rockfalls triggers a message forbidding you from going any further, before teleporting you back to a distance. Here's how to get there through the The Mountain's Melody quest.

Unlocking access

First of all, you need to meet Lacra, which requires completing the "Volatile Association" quest.

Once this quest is finished, you'll be able to talk to a uriash prisoner. Spare him and promise not to kill the uriash of the village: the The Mountain's Melody quest then appears in your journal. Following it, your next step is to find Lacra at Crown Rock. Since Lacra is a vrakhiri, this quest can only be carried out at night.

Traveling with Lacra

Once you've joined Lacra at Crown Rock, keep these points in mind:

  • She'll push you to feed on an unwary shepherd. Reply that the experience was "excellent" so as not to offend her.
  • Continue along the mountain pass. When faced with vertical walls, use your abilities to progress.
  • At certain points, you'll have to fight wild beasts: wolves and bears.

The stubborn trolls

Save your game right before the summit: the uriashi matriarch and her guard appear and start bombarding Coen with rocks, while Lacra urges you to make them pay for their insolence.

Many dialogue options are available to you, and a single mistake can trigger hostilities. For a peaceful resolution, choose in order:

  1. "Alright, fine."
  2. "Lacra, calm down."
  3. "No one needs to die."
  4. "Can we stop the hostilities?"
  5. "We've already proven it."
  6. "What further proof do you need?"
  7. [Do nothing] - twice.
  8. "This is clearly a test - go ahead."
  9. [Do nothing]

If everything is done correctly, the uriashi matriarch, Bakr-Erga, orders her warriors to lower their weapons, then leads you to the village. The uriashi will continue to provoke you: keep your calm to enter peacefully.

What you'll find in the village

The Uriash Village houses a fast travel altar and several merchants - notably the matriarch, who sells almost all the Sorcery skill manuals in the game. From there, you can continue Lacra's quests (up to her romance scene) or help the matriarch recover her daughter.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I climb the mountains west of Rockfalls?
The area is reserved for nocturnal creatures and vrakhiri until you gain access to the village. A message prevents you and teleports you away. You must follow the "The Mountain's Melody" quest to bypass this restriction.
What should I tell Lacra when she insists that I feed on the shepherd?
Say the experience is "excellent" to avoid offending her and maintain a good relationship with her during the quest.
What is the real risk during the confrontation with Bakr-Erga at the summit?
A single dialogue mistake can trigger hostilities and forced combat. You must follow the sequence precisely and endure provocations from the uriashi while remaining passive twice.
What's so interesting about Uriash Village once you have access to it?
The village offers a fast travel altar, merchants, and most importantly the matriarch sells nearly all Sorcery skill manuals available in the game. You can also chain Lacra's quests or help Bakr-Erga find her daughter.
