In brief

The incredible medal event from August 12 to 31, 2026 is the best window to farm and turn your card tokens into rewards via the trader. The pitfall to absolutely avoid: don't put a single star ore into the revenge equipment before August 26, since it will be automatically maxed for free for six days.

The The Awesome Quest season is entering its second half, and the month's most rewarding piece hasn't even started yet: the awesome medal event opens on August 12, 2026 and runs until August 31. It's also the one that demands the most preparation, because it sets up a trade-off that many chiefs are going to get wrong: the one around dark elixir.

The loop announced by Supercell can be summed up in one sentence: collect card tokens in home village battles, turn them into quest medals, then spend those medals with the trader. On the shop's menu: card packs to complete your Clash of Cards collections, the return of the elephant rider as a temporary troop, and above all the new epic equipment for the revenge deck.

The detail the official blog slips in as a single line, and one that changes your entire resource management: from August 26 to 31, this revenge deck "levels up to the maximum allowed by your hero hall". Six days of maxed epic equipment, for free. The only thing left to figure out is what you do with your dark elixir until then.

What's confirmed, and what isn't

As of August 10, 2026, the only official document describing the event is the season calendar published on July 31 on the Supercell blog, available in both French and English. It confirms four things:

  • the event runs from August 12 to 31, in the home village only;
  • the card tokens are collected in battle and feed into quest medals;
  • the medals can be exchanged with the trader, with card packs among the rewards;
  • the elephant rider is back as a temporary unit for the entire duration of the event.

Everything else is still unknown: the exact trader catalogue, the medal prices, the number of tokens per attack, and the precise method for obtaining the revenge deck. No dedicated article was live on either the English or French blog as of that date. Watch out for the usual gap, by the way: the French Clash of Clans blog regularly publishes several days after the English one, so the detailed notes will likely appear in English first.

A word on the revenge deck itself: the community attributes it to the Dragon Duke, based on files extracted from the client. Supercell hasn't confirmed this in writing. Treat it as a solid hypothesis, not a fact, and don't plan a build around it until the card is visible in-game.

The card token, medal, and trader loop

Clash of Clans' seasonal events have worked on the same principle for several years now: tokens appear on opponents' villages in multiplayer, and you collect them by destroying whatever sits on top of them. Nothing suggests the August event will break from that rule. The practical consequences are always the same, and they're worth reviewing before August 12:

  • The number of attacks matters more than their quality. A token farming run is a volume game. A cheap army that chains through opponent searches earns more than a war composition put together over thirty minutes.
  • Tokens are capped per day. That's the norm for this kind of format: once the quota is reached, extra attacks no longer earn anything for the event. So it's better to play a bit every day than to do everything on the weekend.
  • Three stars aren't necessary. What matters is destroying the buildings that carry tokens, not razing the base. A well-targeted partial attack does the job.

In practice, the best army for this kind of event is still the one you can reproduce over and over without breaking your dark elixir production: classic farming compositions, quick training, no essential heroes. Keep your heroes available for clan war if you're doing one, and use the farming attacks to empty enemy collectors along the way.

Rematch deck: don't put a single ore into it before August 26

This is the most important point of this end of season, and it isn't intuitive at all. The boost from August 26 to 31 brings equipment up to the maximum level allowed by your Hero Hall, regardless of its actual level. So an epic equipment left at level 1 will benefit from exactly the same bonus as an equipment you've upgraded with the sweat of your ore.

The conclusion is clear: between August 12 and 25, invest your ore elsewhere. Starry Ore is the rarest resource in the game and the main bottleneck of any equipment progression; burning it on a piece that will be maxed out for free for six days is the worst possible trade-off. Put it toward the equipment you actually use in war, or set it aside.

The window from August 26 to 31 then serves another purpose: testing. You have six days to see what the rematch deck delivers at its cap, in multiplayer as well as in clan war, before deciding whether it deserves your stock of Starry Ore. It's a rare opportunity: usually you find out an epic equipment doesn't suit your playstyle only after spending enough to upgrade two common pieces.

Three questions to settle during these six days: does the effect trigger often enough on the bases you encounter at your Town Hall level? Does it perform better than the epic equipment already equipped on your Druid Duke? And does it hold up against the assembled defenses of the August cycle, starting with the Hero Eradicator, which specifically targets heroes? Write down your findings before August 31: the boost ends with the season.

The rest of the calendar, and how to stack it

The medal event doesn't run on its own. Here's what's still to come this season, according to the official calendar from July 31:

DatesContent
August 11Free card pack from the Trader (the third one arrives on August 18)
August 11 → 31Necrotic Prince skin (Gargoyle Prince)
August 12 → 31Incredible Medals event
August 13 → 31Eminent Wizard skin (Grand Warden)
August 15 → 17Resource Festival No. 1: 4x boost on collectors, Goblin Builder
August 15Return of Clash-A-Rama cosmetics in the shop
August 17 → 18Mass Spells No. 2: 30 Healing Spells, 30 Haste Spells
August 22 → 28Clan Games
August 26 → 31Revenge deck boost
August 29 → 31Resource Festival No. 2
September 2, 8 AM UTCFinal closure of trading and rewards for Clash of Cards

Two stacking opportunities are worth organizing. The first: the Resource Festivals on August 15-17 and 29-31 quadruple both the production and the capacity of collectors. Empty your collectors just before each window begins, then let them run full for three days — it's the best passive yield of the month, and it falls right during the Medals event.

The second: the Clan Games from August 22 to 28 overlap with the final week of token collecting. Many Clan Games challenges are validated through multiplayer attacks — exactly the ones you'll be making anyway for your medals. Pick your challenges based on your farming army rather than the other way around, and you'll double the value of every attack.

What's left to do before August 12

  • Grab the free card pack on August 11 from the Trader. It costs nothing and feeds your collection tiers.
  • Sort out your duplicate cards. Only duplicates can be traded in clan chat, and Clash of Cards tiers are counted in different cards: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, then 60. A duplicate you keep is a tier you lose.
  • Start long upgrades now. Builders kept busy while you farm mean loot that isn't sitting idle in your storages.
  • Don't spend Star Ore before you've seen the in-game details of the revenge deck.
  • Check for the Clashiversary cake obstacle on your village: it's back for the game's 14th anniversary and only appears once a year.

The real risk at the end of the season

It's not in the Medals event, it's in the closing dates. The season ends on August 31, but Clash of Cards rewards and trading remain accessible until September 2 at 8 AM UTC, which is 10 AM in Paris. These two grace days only apply to cards: the revenge deck boost, on the other hand, disappears with the season, just like the skins and the Gold Pass.

The plan therefore comes in three phases. From August 12 to 25, you stockpile: tokens, medals, packs, and above all Ore that you don't spend. From the 26th to the 31st, you test the revenge deck for free and make your decision. On September 1st and 2nd, you cash in your duplicate cards and collect the final tiers. If there's only one thing to remember: the Star Ore you don't waste on gear offered for free for six days will be the real payoff of this season.

Frequently asked questions

How many card tokens can I get per day during the event?
The official calendar doesn't specify the exact number. Supercell always caps this type of event per day, so extra attacks beyond the quota won't earn you anything more. It's better to play a bit every day rather than doing everything over the weekend.
Why shouldn't I upgrade the revenge equipment before August 26?
From August 26 to 31, the equipment rises to the maximum level allowed by your Hero Hall, for free. Level 1 equipment gets exactly the same bonus as equipment you would have upgraded by pouring in ores. Between August 12 and 25, invest elsewhere.
What kind of army should I use to farm tokens?
A cheap composition that you can reproduce in a loop without breaking your dark elixir bank. Heroes aren't essential for destroying token-bearing buildings. Keep them available for clan war and use your loot attacks to empty enemy collectors.
How can I maximize my gains before the event ends?
Empty your collectors just before the resource festivals on the 15-17 and 29-31 of August, then let them run full: it's the best passive yield of the month. During the clan games from August 22-28, complete your challenges with your usual farming army instead of building special compositions.

Key takeaways

  • Do your loot attacks in a fast loop rather than going for three stars: volume is what matters.
  • Save your star ores for after August 26, when the revenge equipment gets maxed for free.
  • Stack the resource festivals on the 15-17 and 29-31 of August with the event to quadruple your passive production.
  • The clan games from August 22-28 share the same multiplayer attacks as your farming: complete your challenges at the same time.
