Once Human Account Linking: Console-PC Warning Before You Link

In brief

Linking your Once Human account between console and PC is not a merge: if both accounts have characters, one of the two sets will disappear completely. Starry Studio requires you to link first, create a character second — the only order that preserves everything.

The console version of Once Human launched on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 11 a.m. (PT), which is 6 p.m. UTC, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. The game features full cross-platform data interconnection: you can play on console and PC with the same progression.

That's true — but the way to get there hides a pitfall that Starry Studio tucked into a note, under the most innocuous title possible ("Cross-Platform Data Interconnection and Account Linking Instructions"). Here it is in full, because it's irreversible.

Linking is not merging

"Account linking is not the same as account merging. We cannot merge the progress of two accounts that both have characters while keeping all the characters. If both linked accounts have characters and meet the conditions, the system will display the information of the most recently played account. You will need to choose to keep all characters under a single account; all characters on the other account will be discarded. Please proceed with caution."

In other words: if you already have a Meta-Human on PC or mobile and you create one on console before linking the accounts, you will have to sacrifice one of the two sets. There is no scenario in which both survive.

The only safe sequence, according to the studio

Your situationWhat Starry Studio recommends
You're already playing on PC or mobileLog in on PC or mobile and link the account in advance from [Settings → Account]
You're already on console but haven't created a character yetClick the top-right corner of the login screen, before creating a new character
You're discovering the game on console and plan to play on PC laterLink the account from [Settings → Account] on console, or go through the NetEase Loading Bay, or authorize the login on mobile with the console account

The most important line is the second one: before creating a character. Once a character has been created on the console account, both accounts have characters, and the destructive choice becomes unavoidable.

Console test rewards: a very distant deadline, and two conditions

Those who took part in the console beta can retrieve their items on the "Exclusive Event → Console Test Exclusive Rewards Carryover" page. Three rules apply here:

  • the claim event runs until August 25, 2027 — a full year, so there's no urgency;
  • rewards can only be claimed once per account: make sure to check which character is active before confirming;
  • claiming is not possible from RaidZone. You need to be on a scenario server.

Account linking, the studio notes, does not affect the recovery of these rewards; it nevertheless advises linking first, then claiming.

Console-exclusive or cross-platform servers: how to choose

Two families of servers coexist, and the distinction is spelled out in the name:

  • cross-platform servers have no special label and are accessible from any device;
  • console-exclusive servers carry the "Console" label in their name and can only be played on console.

The access path is given as is: Scenario Selection → More Servers → Console Exclusive Server.

For Europe, the first wave opened on August 25 at 6:00 PM UTC (8:00 PM in Paris):

ScenarioServers
Manibus (Novice)Manibus(Novice)-00568, Manibus(Novice)-00569
ManibusManibus-X0282
Endless DreamE_Dream-X0101
[Console] Manibus (Novice)【Console】Manibus(Novice)-0001
[Console] Prismverse's Clash (Visional)【Console】P_Clash-X0001

On the RaidZone side, Europe received three console-exclusive servers at the same time, one per mode: 【Console】Softcore-A0001 (casual), 【Console】Vanilla-A0001 (standard) and 【Console】Hardcore-A0001 (hardcore).

The server opening schedule changed on August 26

This is the second effect of the arrival of consoles, and it concerns all players, console or otherwise: the pace at which servers open for registration has been reworked. For North America, Europe and Southeast Asia:

ScenarioOpeningVisional WorldsNormal Worlds
ManibusEvery Saturday at 8:00 AM82
Endless DreamEvery Saturday at 8:00 AM51
The Way of WinterEvery Saturday at 8:00 AM51
Deviation: Survive, Capture, PreserveEvery Saturday at 8:00 AM42
Prismverse's Clash (Visional)Every Saturday at 8:00 AM1
Evolution's CallThe 1st and 15th of each month at 8:00 AM22

Three rules govern these openings, and the first one is costly if ignored:

  • The registration channel closes 24 hours before the server opens. Signing up on Friday evening for a Saturday morning server won't work: you need to register by Friday 8:00 AM at the latest.
  • The exact number of servers opened depends on the number of registrations, with a minimum of one server.
  • Additional servers without a registration channel may be added depending on load, and are announced separately.

For South America, Japan, South Korea and the HK/MO/TW region, the pace is half as frequent: most scenarios only open on the 1st and 15th of each month, with only Prismverse's Clash (Visional) remaining weekly.

A server that will not reopen

The end of the RaidFest event led to the permanent closure of the limited-time servers tied to it. For Europe, Crimson_LR-A0001 closed on August 26 at 7:00 AM UTC, and the studio explicitly states that they "will not be reopened."

What to do first, if you're arriving on console

  1. Link your account before creating anything. This is the only irreversible step in the process.
  2. Choose your server family: the "Console" label closes the door to cross-play, while the absence of a label opens it.
  3. Sign up by Friday morning at the latest for a Saturday server.
  4. Claim your test rewards from a scenario server, never from RaidZone.

Starry Studio published these console announcements in English only. Scenario and server names below are quoted exactly as they appear in the official text — and server IDs are displayed identically in every language anyway.

Faced with this console linking system, what's your instinct?

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep both my PC and console characters after linking?
No. If both accounts have characters, you'll have to choose to keep one full set and lose the other. The only way to avoid this is to link first, then create your first character afterward.
What's the exact order to follow when arriving on console?
Link your account first, then choose a server family (console-exclusive or cross-platform), then register no later than Friday morning for a Saturday server. Create a character only after this registration.
What's the difference between console-exclusive servers and the others?
Servers with the "Console" tag completely block cross-play and only accept consoles. Untagged servers are accessible from any device and allow you to play in a group with PC and mobile players.
When should I claim the console test rewards?
The claim event runs until August 25, 2027, so there's no rush. Claim from a story server, never from RaidZone, and check which character is active before confirming — the claim can only be made once.
How do I register for a server that opens on Saturday?
The registration window closes 24 hours before opening. For a Saturday 8 a.m. server, you must register by Friday at 8 a.m. at the latest. After that, it's too late.

Key takeaways

  • Linking erases nothing if only one account has characters; both sets are lost if both have them.
  • You must link before creating your first character on console, otherwise the choice becomes destructive.
  • Console-exclusive servers block cross-play, while untagged servers allow it.
  • Server registration closes 24 hours before opening: sign up by Friday 8 a.m. at the latest for a Saturday launch.
  • Console test rewards can be claimed within a year, only once per account, and only from a story server.
