inZOI v0.10.1: Smart Zoi crash in non-English clients fixed on September 5, 2026 — but not on Mac
In brief
inZOI's v0.10.1 patch fixes the Smart Zoi crash in non-English environments, but only on Windows. Mac users remain exposed to the bug with no known timeline, while Krafton publishes its patch notes in French but hosts the official known issues list only in English.
Krafton released the v0.10.1 patch for inZOI on Saturday, September 5, 2026, two days after the v0.10.0 update. Only one of its lines directly addresses the French-speaking audience: the studio fixes a crash that only affected sessions launched in a language other than English.
The announcement appeared on the game's Steam feed at 12:20 PM Paris time, i.e. 10:20 UTC, and it is fully translated into French. This is not the case for everything Krafton publishes around this update, and this asymmetry complicates reading the patch.
The non-English crash: what's fixed, and where
The studio's French text is unambiguous: "[Windows] Correction d'un problème qui provoquait un Crash lors de l'activation de Zoi intelligent dans des environnements non anglophones" ("[Windows] Fixed an issue causing a Crash when activating Smart Zoi in non-English environments"). The capital letter on "Crash" is Krafton's, not ours.
The restriction follows immediately, in the same announcement: "The fix applies only on Windows; on Mac, this Crash persists. We apologize for the inconvenience." A Mac player who activates the feature in a French client therefore remains exposed to the same crash, with no timeline given.
| Version | Announcement published (Paris) | Windows Steam build | Mac Steam build | Mac App Store build |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| v0.10.0 | Thursday, September 3, 2026, 8:02 AM | 20260902.14983.W | 20260902.14985.M | 5.4.72 (0.296.95) / 20260902.14984.M |
| v0.10.1 | Saturday, September 5, 2026, 12:20 PM | 20260904.15051.W | 20260904.15052.M | no build published |
Three observations on this table, which are our own and not statements from the publisher. The timestamps of the two patch builds bear the date of Friday, September 4, whereas the announcement dates the patch to the 5th: compilation precedes publication by one day. The Windows counter goes from 14983 to 15051, that is 68 increments in three days; this is our subtraction. Finally, v0.10.0 listed a Mac App Store build that v0.10.1 does not publish, without a word of explanation.
"Smart Zoi": the French label is brand new
The French name for the feature is Zoi intelligent, and this is not a translation of our own making. The official French patch notes from Thursday, September 3, 2026 open a section "[Zoi intelligent]" and state: "Smart Zois have been improved to rely on various contexts—current location, group activity, social event, job or business they own—to decide on their interactions." The September 5 patch reuses the label, and the French page playinzoi.com/fr/news/11047 also displays it.
The distinction matters, because the term has long circulated in English, and only in English. Out of the twenty posts on the game's French-speaking Steam feed, dating back to July 1, 2026, only two write "Zoi intelligent": the one from September 3 and the one from September 5. A third mentions the feature, Kjun's letter from Friday, July 24, 2026, but it exists only in English and titles its second section "Smart Zoi Improvements." The studio already acknowledged there that the feature "failed to respond properly."
The feature is therefore old, but its French name is three days old: in a client set to French, the entry is called Zoi intelligent. Canvas, ModKit, and Zoi itself remain untranslated.
Your mods are disabled with every patch
The announcement repeats a warning that Krafton bolds in all its notes: "To ensure the game's stability, all mods are automatically disabled when installing an update or patch." The following sentence, "You will be able to reactivate it later and use it again," switches to the singular where the previous one was in the plural: the French version of these notes has clearly gone through machine translation, and it should read "reactivate them."
The consequence is real: after installing v0.10.1, a player equipped with mods must reactivate them manually before noticing anything. A crash occurring right after the update is therefore not necessarily the one the patch was meant to fix.
What the official list still holds against the feature
Krafton maintains a list of "Known Issues," announced on Steam on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 8:18 AM (Paris time) and hosted on the game's forum, where the first post was made thirteen minutes earlier. Nine entries carry the marker "(09/03)," meaning they were added on the very day of the update. The studio states that it gathers the issues it says it is "currently aware of and actively working to resolve" and that it is updated continuously: what you read there later will not be what we read there.
First pitfall for a French-speaking reader: the Steam announcement is in French, but the list itself only exists in English. The forum only offers a machine translation, which Krafton documents in a dedicated post and presents as such. The headings below therefore remain in English: making up an equivalent would send the reader looking on screen for a label that isn't there.
| Situation | Official wording (English) | Workaround published by Krafton |
|---|---|---|
| New game | « Smart Zoi may not function properly when starting a new game » | Load an existing save, then re-enable the option |
| Fine dining restaurant | « When Smart Zoi is enabled, running a Fine Dining Restaurant business may not function properly » | None |
| Employee interaction | « The employee Zoi's "Watch the Counter" interaction may not end » | « Manually canceling the "Watch the Counter" interaction will allow the business to proceed normally » |
"Fine dining restaurant," for its part, is indeed an official French label, found in the September 3 notes: "for fine dining restaurants, operation cannot begin until all required furniture has been placed." The other two headings have no published equivalent.

The workaround for the first line is the most useful: Krafton writes that the issue "only occurs when starting a new game" and that loading a save and then re-enabling the feature is enough to get it working again. Neither of these two responses is a fix; they are steps to repeat.
One entry on the list is both open and fixed
The list ends with a box, "The following issues have been addressed in the v0.10.0 update," followed by five entries. One of them appears word for word higher up, in the still-open section devoted to the ModKit: "Mods created by duplicating DLC data may not apply correctly." The same sentence is thus given both as an ongoing issue and as a fixed one.
We checked: the sentence does indeed appear twice, identically, in the same message. Krafton does not flag the contradiction and does not indicate which of the two mentions holds. The other still-open ModKit entry is clearer: the studio describes a crash when deleting a mod project containing a hair mod workspace.
In practice
- On Windows, install v0.10.1: the crash when enabling Smart Zoi outside of English is fixed.
- On Mac, keep the feature disabled: Krafton writes that the crash persists, without giving a date.
- Re-enable your mods manually after installing.
- If the feature remains inactive in a new game, load an existing save and re-enable the option.
- If your luxury restaurant freezes, manually cancel the employee's "Watch the Counter" interaction.
The underlying question remains, one that Krafton addresses in none of these documents: why an autonomy feature was crashing specifically outside of English. The September 3 notes contain a localization line—"The names displayed in the dialogue bubble are localized according to the set game language"—and the list places among the issues fixed by v0.10.0 a bug occurring "When switching from Korean to another language." The studio draws no connection to the crash. Neither do we.
