In brief

Gravity Abyss, the fourth Vision in Once Human, has been running since May 2026 with no announced end date. This guide breaks down the essential mechanics: the merged Vision/Normal servers, the weekly cap of 10,000 Gravity Crystals, the Aerial Hunt and its phases, and the two mod suffixes Aero and Falling Star with their exact figures.

Since the maintenance on May 27, 2026, Once Human has been running the fourth Vision on its Vision Wheel, "Gravity Abyss". Two and a half months later, as of August 10, no end date has been announced: the official notice from May 27 promised to communicate it later, and nothing has come since. The August 7 patch, meanwhile, fixes a stuck task in the Vision Wheel's "Gravity Observation" event: the Vision is indeed still ongoing.

This is also the part of the game that French-speaking players know least well, for a mechanical reason: NetEase has not published patch notes in French since 2025, and the official site's /fr/news/ index returns a 404. Here, the French labels are those from the FR client, cross-checked one by one against the localized item database; when a name can't be verified, we keep the English and flag it.

So let's go straight to the numbers that actually matter: the weekly cap of 10,000 Gravity Crystals, phase 5 which unlocks pity for legendary crates, and the exact values of the season's two mod suffixes.

Vision World or Normal World: no more need to switch servers

This is the structural change of this Vision. Up through S3, taking part required joining a server flagged as Vision, meaning starting from scratch. Since Gravity Abyss, dedicated Vision servers no longer exist: every server now hosts both a Visional World and a Normal World, between which you can switch freely. Vision events only affect the former, and it has been added to permanent servers that previously lacked one.

Affected scenarios: Manibus (excluding the novice version), The Call of Evolution, The Prismverse Clash, The Path of Winter, Endless Dream, and Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve. One nuance worth knowing: the world split does not apply to The Prismverse Clash.

Second point to keep in mind: zero gravity is not global. It only covers certain stronghold areas (the Strongholds mentioned in the official notes), marked on the map — a deliberate choice explained in the June 2 dev blog. To float elsewhere, you need an item.

Gravity Crystals: 10,000 per week, then yield cut in half

The Gravity Crystal is the Vision's central currency: it triggers Abyssal Core resonance, powers floating construction, and serves as the currency for the dedicated shop. It drops from Aerial Hunt, Echoite crates, enemies marked Starfall, and Star Advent crates.

Something many still don't know: the weekly cap was raised to 10,000 crystals following backlash at launch. Past that threshold, you keep earning them, but at half the yield. In practice: aim to hit 10,000 early in the week, then move on to something else. In zero-gravity strongholds, Unstable Aggregates are also supposed to respawn once per hour.

Aerial Hunt: the best hourly yield, and the notorious phase 5

Fifteen minutes after the Vision begins, the Riftwalker crosses Nalcott and appears above three randomly selected settlements. The airship platform that had previously failed to capture it materializes there: you enter through the portal summoned on-site or by clicking the marker on the map. The fight is vertical, the Riftwalker changes form, and it demands real coordination.

  • If map teleportation is disabled, it's not a bug: it gets cut off when too many players flood in. Make your own way to the fortress.
  • The personal reward no longer depends on ranking: reaching the required damage threshold is enough.
  • Completing phase 5 of the Aerial Hunt or the Gravity Integrator mode counts toward the Legendary Mod Crate pity, and the mods that drop from it carry Vision keywords. Crates picked up while exploring the fortress or from Echoites don't count.

The Riftwalker's health points were reduced starting May 29, and the mode's difficulty was revised for Endless Dream and Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve.

Riftwalker Relics: the crate that rises, and how to reach it

The Riftwalker drops two types of artifacts, Echoite Broken Relics and Riftwalker Relics, whose drop points are marked on the map. The latter, the more rewarding ones, are also the most tedious: as soon as a player approaches, elites spawn and the relic starts to rise. As long as the elites hold, the relic keeps climbing.

Since June, the ascent speed has been lowered, the time spent at the peak has been extended, and the crate's visual effects have been enhanced. What remains the real trap: the enemies' health points are set based on the level of the zone where the relic falls, not on your own. A relic that drops in a high-level region is a wall: choose your targets accordingly.

To recover the airborne crate, there are three tools, all verified in the French client: the Energy Raiser, crafted at the Supply Workbench, which grants weightlessness outside the dedicated zone but only during the Vision; the Floating Aerogel, whose drop rate in Star Advent crates has been increased; or a flying vehicle.

Abyssal Cores: crack them dry, resonate, or resell

Abyssal Cores drop from Riftwalker Relics and the Aerial Hunt, in three rarities: epic, legendary, and mythic. They contain glowing mods, Abyssal Essence, and high-level transformed Anomalies. This Vision is the first to distribute glowing armor mods, exclusively through these cores.

The mechanic to understand is resonance: you spend Gravity Crystals before opening, and the deeper it goes, the higher the chance of doubling the loot. Since the cores are freely tradeable, there's a third path: don't open them and resell them instead, which has become much simpler since 3.0.3 added purchase orders.

Abyssal Essence is spent in Events > Visional Redemption > Redeem Shop: Luminis Ingots, skins, glowing mods, top-tier Anomalies. The line to remember: a random Downstar/Aero glowing mod crate for 15 Abyssal Essence, redeemable twice a month. The Gravity Crystal shop offers a Symbiote Aberration Mutagen of your choice for 1,500 crystals, valuable if you missed the S3 Vision.

Aero vs. Downstar: the exact numbers

S4 introduces the Aero suffix and brings back Downstar, which the French client calls "Étoile tombante" ("Falling Star") on armor pieces while keeping "Downstar" on certain crates. Values recorded on level 17 mods.

Level 17 ModAeroÉtoile tombante (Downstar)
Weapon DMG+6%, and an extra +3% on hits landed in the air+6%, and up to +3% against a lower target (capped at 5m)
Crit DMG+15%, and an extra +7.5% in the air+15%, and up to +7.5% against a lower target
Bonus to all DMG gains+7.5%+7.5%
Max HP+2.4%+2.4%
Slots recorded in the FR clientGloves, Lower BodyLower Body, Shoes

The stat pools are identical: everything comes down to the trigger condition. Aero activates in any airborne state, including jumps: it's the reliable suffix, the one that works anywhere you can jump before shooting. Étoile tombante requires a height difference capped at 5 meters: fearsome for defending elevated territory and vertical fortresses, much weaker on flat terrain. From level 5 onward, attribute rolls improve with the mod's level. On the effects side, the FR client is complete — Elemental Resonance or Lethal Shot for the Aero version, Ferocious Charge or Steady Hand for the Étoile tombante version.

Building in the air: the Anti-Gravity Foundation and the rest of the kit

The Blueprint: Anti-Gravity Foundation is picked up through exploration and unlocks floating construction — each piece placed consumes Gravity Crystals, making it a direct competitor to resonance in your weekly budget.

The rest of the kit is fully translated, which helps when navigating the workbench: Anti-Gravity Backpack, Gravity Absorber, Gravity Neutralizer, Gravity Regulator, Gravity Network Generator, Anti-Gravity Milkshake, Zero-Gravity Game Pod, and the consumable Aerial Leap — the latter finally tradeable since the August 6 patch.

The Gravity Integrator deserves a mention: at once an item, a blueprint, and a mode, the higher its structure rises, the greater the rewards climb. Since June 24, Anomalies can stand on it and take part in combat. Its modules are called Integrator Module - Shield, - Collection, - Defense, and - Speed.

Three collections to check off in the Events tab

Everything runs through Events > Visional Wheel. Gravity Abyss reminds you of the rules. Abyssal Collection converts your Gravity Crystals into progression and grants territory collectibles. Vision Collection splits into two, suffix mods and Transformed Anomalies, with weapon skins as the payoff; the latter counts nine entries and milestones at 3, 6 and 9. And if a task from the Gravity Observation event refused to validate for you, the August 7 patch fixed it: go back over it.

The Vision brings back all the Transformed Anomalies and all the S1 mods, including the Starfall Inversion series — which the FR client calls Inversion de Dévastation protoplasmique. Added to these are three new Transformed Anomalies, built on Jeunesse élémentaire (The Digby Boy), Briquet atomique and Zapamander. The FR localization wavers between "Anomalie transformée" and "Anomalie mutante" depending on the crates: it's the same category.

What to Start With Today

Order of priority for a first week: switch your server to the Vision world, grab the blueprints for the Energy Amplifier and the Anti-Gravity Foundation, then chain Aerial Hunts up to phase 5 to fuel legendary pity. Riftwalker Relics come next, on zones matching your level. Save the mythic Abyssal Cores for a deep resonance.

One last calendar data point, without extrapolating: the next announced maintenance is on August 24 at 4 PM PT, which closes out the current Battle Pass, the day before the console release. Nothing indicates that Vision ends there — but sitting on a stockpile of Gravity Crystals and Abyssal Essence two weeks out from a milestone of this magnitude remains the best way to lose them.

Are you playing the Gravity Abyss Vision mainly for the shiny mods, the Crystals, or to push overall progression?

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to start from scratch for the Gravity Abyss Vision?
No. Since S4, dedicated Vision servers no longer exist. You stay on your usual server and switch between the Visional World and the Normal World at will. Vision events only affect the Visional World.
What's the best hourly yield for Gravity Crystals?
The Aerial Hunt is the most profitable. Aim for the 10,000 weekly crystals early in the week, then scale back your grind: past that threshold, you earn at half the rate.
How do I recover a Riftwalker Relic that's floating in the air?
Three solutions: the Energy Amplifier (crafted at the Supply Workbench, grants weightlessness outside the zone during the Vision), the Floating Aerogel (obtained from Star Advent crates), or a flying vehicle.
Aero or Falling Star: which suffix should you choose?
Aero is more versatile: it activates on jump anywhere. Falling Star shines in elevated defense and vertical terrain, but requires an altitude difference capped at 5 meters — much less effective on flat terrain.
Should you open Abyssal Cores right away?
Not necessarily. They're freely tradeable and buy orders exist: reselling them can be more worthwhile than spending Gravity Crystals on resonance. It's up to you to weigh the yield based on your need for shiny mods or crystals.

Key takeaways

  • No more isolated Vision servers: you can now freely switch between the Visional World and the Normal World on the same server.
  • The Gravity Crystal cap is now 10,000 per week, with yield halved beyond that.
  • The Aerial Hunt pays out its best rewards at phase 5, which also counts toward the pity system for legendary crates.
  • Aero is the reliable suffix that activates on jump, while Falling Star requires an exact altitude difference — pick whichever suits your playstyle.
  • Riftwalker Relics rise if you don't kill the elites: a real coordination mechanic, not passive farming.
