The Sims 4: the Mean Girls and Clueless Capsule Kits are out at €3.99 — the euro price EA's announcement never gave

The two kits announced on August 18 were released on Thursday, August 27, 2026. In their official English labeling, they are called “The Sims™ 4 Mean Girls Capsule Kit” and “The Sims™ 4 Clueless Capsule Kit”, and they cost €3.99 each.

That price is the first genuinely new piece of information. We noted on August 21 that EA's announcement quoted $3.99 and gave no euro amount at all. It is now settled: parity is respected, and there is no bundle grouping the two kits together.

The two kits, price and details

One line in the product page is worth reading before buying: “Requires The Sims 4 and all game updates.” In other words, a player still on a version prior to the August 25 patch will need to update first. On PC, EA also points to the pack-specific minimum requirements, distinct from those of the base game.

What's in the Mean Girls Kit, according to EA

The French product page is made up of two blocks, and it is more precise than the English summary from August 18 on at least one point: vocabulary.

“You'll embody high school royalty with these looks. Create your own totally 2000s looks, fill up your Burn Book, and remember that on Wednesdays we wear pink.”

Two focuses are announced:

• “Create your own Plastics” — recreate the movie's characters or steal their style. The pieces named specifically: the preppy skirt, the velour tracksuit of the “cool mom,” and bling-bling accessories.
• “2000s styling” — everyday outfits with “a touch of glamour,” and several color options per piece to put together your own sets.

The English release announcement adds three elements that the French page does not detail: a matching beanie for the jingle bell scene, the Mathletes team jackets, and the matching skirts and sweaters from the North Shore High hallways.

A localisation note, for players on a French client

Where the English text says “get out your Burn Book,” the French page writes “remplissez votre Musée des monstres” (literally, “fill up your Museum of Monsters”). EA France therefore neither kept the English term nor translated it literally: Regina George's notebook has its own proper French name in the game's catalog. That's the one to remember, because it's the one the item will display in French.

Same logic for “The Plastics,” rendered as “vos propres Plastiques” (“your own Plastiques”) in French. If you're looking for these items in Create a Sim on a French-language setup, that's the name you'll need to spot them under, not the English titles circulating in preview videos.

What's in the Clueless Kit

« Retro trend? Ugh, as if! This kit contains outfits worthy of the most popular Sims. An iconic tartan set and other chic '90s looks to awaken your inner fashionista. »

Here again, two focuses:

• « Outfits that inspired a generation » — the emphasis is on matching plaid skirts, to be worn in a group. EA's phrasing is explicit: « nothing will boost your confidence more than matching your plaid skirt with your friends' ».
• « '90s-style makeover » — layered tops, shirts, a one-piece outfit for sports, and Tai's overalls.

Note the vocabulary detail: the English summary mentions a workout unitard and a button-up skirt, which the French listing renders as « ensemble une pièce » and « chemises ». The two texts don't quite describe the same wardrobe; it's the French version that's authoritative in the French client.

Two clothing kits, and nothing else

Let's be clear about what these kits are not: they are Capsule Collection kits, meaning Create a Sim-only content. No build items, no interactions, no traits, no lots. At €3.99 each, €8 for both, it's a wardrobe purchase.

For comparison, the free update on August 25 already delivered, at no cost, six clothing pieces designed for all body types, five Styled Looks, five starter Sims, and one afro hairstyle. A player mainly looking to flesh out their Create a Sim already has plenty to work with before pulling out their credit card.

Where to find them after purchase

Both kits install like any other pack: once purchased, their content appears directly in Create a Sim, filterable by pack. On PC, they're sold both on Steam and in the in-game store; their listing pages also appear in the Marketplace, whose August 25 update specifically fixed the display issue when entering it from Create a Sim after installing a new pack.
