Halo: Campaign Evolved: all 58 achievements and trophies, the roadmap to the platinum
In brief
Halo: Campaign Evolved offers 58 achievements to unlock across just three campaign playthroughs, not six. The essentials: turn off the difficulty modifiers (which block ten achievements), run through a campaign on Legendary for the collectibles, then attempt LASO and the deathless Remix. Expect 25 to 30 hours for the platinum.
Halo: Campaign Evolved lines up 58 achievements for 1,000 G on Xbox and PC, and the same number of trophies on PS5, capped off by the platinum "Complete Evolution". The good news: the list is noticeably shorter to clear than it looks. No achievement is missable, mission select unlocks everything from your very first campaign completion, and the four difficulty tiers stack.
The bad news: one discreet setting can void an entire run. The difficulty modifiers, those assist options tucked away in the settings, block ten achievements on the official list — including "Heroes Never Die", "Living Legend", and both no-death Remix and MYTHIC challenges. In co-op, it only takes one teammate leaving them on for nobody to get credit.
Here's how to knock out the 58 in three campaign runs instead of six, what co-op really changes, and the eight mission challenges to clean up at the end of your run. Expect 25 to 30 hours if you play it cleanly.

How the 58 achievements break down
- 13 mission completions (10 points each): "The Fall of Reach... of the Autumn", "Installation 04", "The Silent Cartographer", "Assault on the Control Room", "343 Guilty Spark", "The Library", "Two Betrayals", "Keyes", "The Maw", "Truth and Reconciliation", "The Package", "Two Betrayals" wait, and "The Silent Cartographer" — actually retaining source titles: "The Fall of the Autumn", "Installation 04", "On Tiptoe", "Bee Thirty", "Loss of Control", "It's Your Story", "Protocol Dictates Action", "Double Win", "Captain's Orders", "Dust and Echoes... Only Better", "One Foot in the Void", "Tiger Company", and "Personal Space".
- 4 difficulty tiers: "Novice", "Birth of a Spartan", "Heroes Never Die", "Living Legend".
- 18 collectible achievements: one per mission for finding every skull and terminal, plus "The Weight of Knowledge" (all 13 terminals), "Show-Off", "Skull Jam", "Headhunter", and "Acute Collectionitis".
- 3 Remix achievements: "REMIX!", "More Alive Than Ever", "Death Optional".
- 6 cumulative counters that unlock on their own, more or less.
- 13 challenges: five tied to specific skulls, eight tied to a specific mission.
- And "Complete Evolution", which unlocks once the other 57 are earned.
Pitfall number one: difficulty modifiers
Don't confuse the two systems. Skulls make the game harder and are mandatory for certain achievements. Difficulty modifiers are assist options: they make the experience easier and void part of the list.
The official list published by Halo Studios flags ten achievements affected: "Heroes Never Die", "Living Legend", "More Alive Than Ever", "Death Optional", "Heat Wave", "Just Like Old Times", "Ammo Conservation", "MYTHIC", "Jiralhanae Defender", and "An Impenetrable Shield". In short: everything tied to high difficulty, no-death Remix runs, and skull challenges.
Double-check they're turned off before every session, both for you and your teammates: this is the number one reason achievements refuse to pop.
The roadmap in three runs
Run 1 — Legendary, collectibles in hand
Finishing the campaign on Legendary pops the three lower tiers at once: one campaign instead of four. Still, make sure "Novice" triggered before moving on.
Use this run to collect the 39 skulls (three per mission across thirteen missions) and the 13 terminals. In one go you'll check off the 13 per-mission "all skulls and terminals" achievements, "The Weight of Knowledge", "Show-Off", "Skull Jam" (22 skulls), "Headhunter" (all 39), and "Acute Collectionitis".
Watch the math here: the game contains 42 skulls, but only 39 can be picked up in the levels. The last three — Adaptation, Reload, and Armistice — are handed to you when you unlock the Remix and don't count toward "Headhunter".
The six cumulative counters fill up naturally along the way: 100 Grunt backpacks destroyed ("Backfire"), 25 Hunter carapace plates torn off ("Plate Tectonics"), 10 vehicles hijacked ("New Ride"), 100 Flood limbs dismembered ("Disarmed"), 50 vehicle parts broken ("Are You Insured?"), and 100 enemies killed with a headshot ("Precision Shots").
Run 2 — LASO, the big one
The LASO mode — Legendary All Skulls On — unlocks after your first campaign completion. It stacks 17 skulls on top of Legendary difficulty and grants access to "MYTHIC", the biggest chunk of the list at 50 points.
One rule changes everything: in LASO, dying solo sends you back to the start of the level, versus the last checkpoint in co-op. That's the strongest argument for playing with others. With skulls that cut shield regeneration and inflate enemy health, the run becomes about avoidance: scout your routes, don't try to kill everything.
Run 3 — the no-death campaign Remix
The campaign Remix unlocks as soon as you've collected three skulls, any three, not necessarily from the same mission. It replays completed missions with randomized enemy factions, scattered weapons, and visibility effects. Three skulls are active by default: Adaptation (random factions), Reload (shuffled weapons), and Armistice (factions no longer fight each other). You can add more and stack up to four.
"REMIX!" pops on your first remixed mission. "More Alive Than Ever" requires completing a mission without dying, "Death Optional" requires an entire remixed campaign without dying — this one is best tracked chapter by chapter: treat every death as a hard stop and reload immediately. Also remember that Armistice, active by default, removes fights between the Covenant and the Flood: no more letting the factions wipe each other out.

Co-op: what it changes, and the bug to know about
The campaign supports two-player split screen on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and up to four players online, including combining a local duo with two remote players. PC has no official split screen: only a community mod released on Nexus Mods in late July enables it.
Crossplay works between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox if the option is enabled in account settings, and progress is shared via a Microsoft account. This link is permanent: choose your account carefully. An online subscription (PlayStation Plus or Game Pass) is still required.
Two rules to remember. The missions, rally points, and skulls available are those of the party leader: to help a friend who's behind, they need to be the one hosting. And unlocks earned in co-op are indeed kept in your solo save.
One last warning, drawn from player reports since launch: in split screen, several people have only seen Player 1's achievements trigger, and online, some end-of-mission achievements have only popped for the host. The July 29, 2026 patch doesn't address this. So alternate hosting from one mission to the next and check your list after every session: mission select lets you catch up on anything missed.
The 13 terminals, the forgotten half of the collection
Every mission hides one UNSC terminal, thirteen in total. Much bigger than skulls — a computer console with a small red light — they emit a sound as you approach, making them the easiest part of the collection. Their content can be replayed from the Collectibles entry in the main menu.
The time-saving instinct: whenever a side path strays from the objective — an odd-looking cave, a side corridor, an overhanging platform — there's almost always a collectible at the end. All thirteen unlock "The Weight of Knowledge".
The eight mission challenges to clean up at the end
These can't be planned ahead: you tackle them via mission select once the campaign is finished.
| Achievement | Mission | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| This Ship Is Mine Now | The Pillar of Autumn | Eliminate Keyes, then lock the vengeful Marines in the observation pen |
| Maps or No Maps? | The Silent Cartographer | Finish without firing, without grenades, without melee, without dying or restarting |
| That's My Ride | Assault on the Control Room | Reach the Banshee before the Elite does |
| It's All in the Dodge | 343 Guilty Spark | Finish the first floor without taking a single hit |
| Buckle Up | The Maw | Finish the Warthog run without being ejected from the vehicle |
| Jiralhanae Defender | The Most Dangerous Game | Don't kill a single berserking Brute |
| Food Critic | — | Listen to the thirsty Grunt's full rant about its eating habits |
| An Impenetrable Shield | Any | Finish a level on Heroic or higher without losing any health |
For "Maps or No Maps?", the method going around is to load friendly Marines into a Warthog and let them do the cleanup: you drive, they shoot, and the condition still holds. For "An Impenetrable Shield", aim for a short, tight mission, and remember it's your health that matters, not your shield. Also worth noting: an inconsistency in the game's text — the French wording for "This Ship Is Mine Now" mentions five Marines, while the English says six. Push all of them into the pen just in case.
The five skull challenges
These require equipping specific skulls, meaning you'll need to have collected them beforehand:
- Heat Wave: finish a mission without jumping or dying, with the Molten Ground skull active — aim for the flattest mission possible.
- Dead Calm: finish Halo without upsetting anyone, with the Vengeance! skull active.
- Just Like Old Times: finish Two Betrayals with Risky Escape, Untouchable, Trigger Happy, and Armistice all active at once.
- Ammo Conservation: equip Famine, Recession, and Last-Minute Reload, then finish a mission without ever running out of ammo.
- MYTHIC: the full campaign on LASO.
The order that saves the most time
Start with the campaign on Legendary while collecting everything, ideally with others: you'll come out with more than half the list done and access to LASO. Move on to the Remix next, since it's shorter, to lock in "Death Optional" while your reflexes are sharp, and save LASO for last, once you know the routes by heart. The eight mission challenges can be cleaned up between sessions, in a single evening.
One last practical note: the July 29, 2026 update reset in-progress mission saves. If you're starting a long attempt, finish it before installing a patch — missions and rally points already unlocked, however, remain saved.
