Halo
Halo is an iconic FPS franchise, born on November 21, 2001 under the direction of Bungie for the Xbox console. Halo: Combat Evolved sparked a revolution in the genre by offering an epic science-fiction universe centered on the main character, the Master Chief, a cyborg super soldier tasked with saving humanity, facing the Covenant Alliance and then the Flood parasite in a galactic war for the survival of the human race.
The saga includes cult installments such as Halo 2 (2004), Halo 3 (2007), Halo: Reach (2010), and Halo Infinite (2021), which were first created by Bungie, before being developed by 343 Industries, the company now known as Halo Studios. The number of spin-offs such as Halo Wars, novels, comics, and TV series keeps growing, currently generating billions in revenue, while its innovative gameplay, and particularly its approach to multiplayer, continues to challenge and inspire the industry.
Halo: Campaign Evolved, a faithful yet modernized remake by Halo Studios and Abstraction Games built on Unreal Engine 5, is expected in 2026 on PC (Steam), Xbox Series and PS5.
