In brief

Once Human is packing five major deadlines between August 12 and 25: Block Adventure closes on the 23rd, the battle pass expires on the 24th, an update shifts content that same day, two cosmetic waves land in the shop, and the console launch reshapes servers on the 25th. Twelve days to leave nothing behind.

The end of the month is packed in Once Human, and not in a good way: several pieces of content close back to back between August 23 and 25. The current battle pass expires on the 24th, the next update lands the same day, and the console launch arrives right after.

Twelve days to wrap everything up. Here are the five deadlines, in the order they fall, and the order in which to tackle them.

1. Block Adventure closes on August 23

The Block Adventure event, running since August 5 on Wishing Island, is active until August 23. Its cycle: a session starts every half hour, and the goal is the boss Block Wanderer, who notably hands out Morphed Deviations.

The cap is the key figure to remember: three boss wins per day, twelve maximum over the entire duration of the event. This is a hard limit, not a diminishing return. If you haven't reached your quota yet, every missed day is permanently lost — and only eleven days remain to catch up on what's missing.

The event also includes a daily login bonus with themed gifts. Two minutes a day, literally.

2. The battle pass expires on August 24

This is the costliest deadline to miss. The current battle pass ends on August 24, at the same time as the maintenance for the next update.

The rule here is the same as everywhere else: whatever isn't claimed disappears. And in Once Human, the classic trap isn't the pass level but the rewards unlocked but not collected, which sit quietly in the interface until closure.

The twelve-day plan, in order of efficiency:

  • Go through the interface today and claim everything already earned. It's free and instant, and it's what half the players forget.
  • Complete the permanent monthly challenges added with 3.0.3: they now form a stable progression base, unlike the seasonal objectives.
  • Prioritize daily activities over weekly ones. Over twelve days, a daily cycle runs twelve times, a weekly cycle once or twice. The math is quick.
  • Don't buy the premium version on the 23rd. If you're still on the fence, decide this week: a pass bought the day before it closes doesn't pay off.

3. The August 24 update shakes things up

The next maintenance is scheduled for August 24 at 4:00 PM Pacific Time, that is August 25 at 1:00 AM Paris time. This is the update following 3.0.3, deployed on August 5.

Practical consequence: everything tied to the current cycle — pass, event, shop rotations — shifts at that point. Treat the evening of Sunday, August 23 as your real deadline, not the 24th: maintenance falls in the middle of the European night, and nobody wants to be finishing their pass at midnight.

4. Two shop drops, on the 12th and the 19th

Two cosmetic waves punctuate the period: the Midsummer Fizz arrivals starting today, August 12, followed by new summer fashion pieces on August 19.

Nothing mandatory, but a point of strategy for players managing their budget: end-of-season rotations are usually the last chance to see a themed lineup before it's gone for several months. If an item catches your eye, better to grab it during its window than hope for a comeback.

5. The August 25 console launch

On August 25, Once Human officially arrives on consoles. We covered the account linking process in a dedicated guide — and the reminder still stands: linking must be done beforehand, not after, or you risk complications with existing characters.

What this date means for a PC player already settled in is less obvious: a wave of newcomers changes server composition, market economy, and group availability. If you had plans that rely on a stable community — trading, a shared base, a fixed group for Visions — now is the comfortable window to act.

The current storyline remains open

Good news amid all these closures: the current storyline, open since July 10, has no announced end date. Once Human storylines have historically lasted around two months, which puts the transition somewhere in early September — after, then, all the deadlines listed above.

In other words, your storyline progress isn't threatened by the end of the month. Focus your next twelve days on what's actually closing: the event, the pass, and nothing else.

Permanent monthly challenges, the new feature few players have made use of

Update 3.0.3 added permanent monthly challenges with rewards, and it's probably the most underrated addition of the August 5 update.

Their appeal lies in their nature: unlike seasonal objectives, they don't disappear with the current storyline. In other words, they're the first source of progression in Once Human that survives a storyline transition — a sore point in a game where each new cycle resets part of your work.

In practical terms, this makes them the best use of your evenings at the end of the month. An activity whose payoff is guaranteed, regardless of what closes on the 23rd or the 24th, deserves to be prioritized ahead of expiring content — provided you've already secured the dated deadlines. This is the only exception to the "what closes first" rule stated above.

Take five minutes to open the tab and see where you stand: most players have already cleared some of the tiers without realizing it, simply by playing.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I don't finish Block Adventure before August 23?
Missed boss wins are permanently lost. The event caps at twelve wins over its full duration, and it's a hard limit, not diminishing returns — every lost day reduces what you can recover.
What happens to pass rewards I haven't claimed before closure?
They disappear. Even if unlocked in the interface, they must be claimed before August 24 at midnight Paris time. It's the classic trap that half of players overlook.
Is it worth buying the premium pass on August 23?
No. A pass bought the day before it closes won't pay off. It takes several days of progression to justify the purchase, especially if you haven't already cleared most of the levels.
Will the permanent monthly challenges disappear at the end of the month?
No, unlike seasonal objectives, they survive every scenario shift. It's the most underrated addition in 3.0.3 and the best source of steady progression in Once Human.
What will the console launch on August 25 change for PC players?
The arrival of newcomers will alter server composition, market economy, and group availability. If you had collective or trading projects in mind, the stable window closes with this date.

Key takeaways

  • Block Adventure disappears on August 23 with a hard cap of twelve boss wins across the whole period — every missed day is permanently lost.
  • The battle pass expires on August 24 at midnight Paris time: unlocked rewards must be claimed before then, as they don't carry over after closure.
  • The real deadline for the pass is the evening of August 23, since maintenance hits in the middle of the European night on the 24th.
  • The permanent monthly challenges added in 3.0.3 persist through every scenario shift, unlike seasonal objectives — a priority that's often overlooked.
  • The console launch on August 25 changes server economy and group composition: now is the time to finalize collective projects.
