Broken Silence Crimson Desert: all the correct answers for Vascal

Crimson Desert invites you to play detective with the Broken Silence quest. You'll learn that a high-value item has been stolen from the Red Fox Trading Post. Here's how to progress through this investigation.

How to start the Broken Silence quest

The first step is to head to the Red Fox Trading Post, located in the northeast of the Délesye region, east of Gorthak. Once there, you'll make contact with the Trading Post Manager, marked on your map. He'll give you the Broken Silence Investigation Journal, which centralizes the information allowing you to identify the suspects to question during the investigation.

The characters to meet are as follows: 

• Reneta, the expert 
• Osvald, the warehouse manager
• Durvan, the foreman
• Tarbo, the packer 
• Sarin, the merchant 
• Grano, the guard

Tips

The order in which you question the different characters doesn't matter. Use the orange circles on your map to spot the nearest suspects and start with them.

The answers to give Vascal 

Once you've questioned all the suspects, return to Vascal to share the evidence you've gathered. Here are the answers to give him during your conversation:

Reneta

• Question: First, what did the expert, Renata, say?
• Answer: The pottery was still there at break time, but it seems to have disappeared by the time work resumed.

Osvald, the warehouse manager

• Question: And Osvald, the warehouse manager?
• Answer: He was organizing the account book, preparing for a meeting with the merchant that evening, and noticed the ceramic piece had disappeared.

Durvan, the foreman

• Question: Next, the foreman, the main suspect.
• Answer: He took a short break before sunrise. Grano can confirm this.

Tarbo, the packer

• Question: What can you tell me about him?
• Answer: His work would have kept him from leaving the warehouse.

Sarin, the merchant

• Question: And the merchant?
• Answer: She reportedly only entered the warehouse after sunset, and the warehouse manager could confirm this.

Grano, the guard

• Question: You saw Grano, right? Did his testimony reveal any clues?
• Answer: First, the warehouse manager and the expert reportedly went out one after the other, then the head porter reportedly left empty-handed.

Conclusion of the investigation

After telling Vascal about your findings, he'll give you a vague conclusion, but you'll be able to head to the location marked on your map to apprehend the culprit. As you approach, you'll see Tarbo making a suspicious deal with a cart driver, proving that he is the thief.

Once this scene is revealed, all you need to do is tie up Tarbo and bring him back to the location marked on your map, which will conclude the quest with your reward being paid out. After a short cutscene with Vascal, you'll receive a Kinetic Art piece, a work of art that you can sell for 43.70 silver coins if you'd prefer a monetary reward.
