Crimson Desert Baby Wyvern: egg, hatching and growth
In brief
Crimson Desert now lets you adopt an adorable Baby Wyvern. Find out how to locate its egg at the Wyvern's Cradle, hatch it in five minutes, and tame it as a pet.
One of the best-kept secrets in Crimson Desert remains the adoption of the Baby Wyvern. Not necessarily difficult once you know where to look - but the location of the egg and the hatching sequence are precise enough that it's easy to miss. Here's everything you need to know, updated with post-patch data.
Baby Wyvern location
The egg is located at the Wyvern's Cradle, an area tucked away in the southwest of Delessia. Head east once you're there to enter a network of caverns. That's where things get a bit tricky.
You'll come face to face with a Bismuth rock blocking the passage. It can't be destroyed with regular sword strikes - you need to use the Concentrated Palm Strike technique (L3 + R3 + R3). A golden orb appears on impact. Once the rock is shattered, a secret cave opens up in front of you: the Wyvern egg rests right on the ground. Interact with it to slip it into your inventory.

A small detail worth noting: according to the community, three other wyvern eggs are said to be scattered elsewhere across the world of Crimson Desert, beyond this starting egg. Nothing officially confirmed for now, but for those with an explorer's spirit, it might be worth digging around.
Hatching and taming the Baby Wyvern
Egg in hand, don't leave the Wyvern's Cradle area. Follow the left side of the cavern to locate the Wyvern's nest.

Open your inventory, select the egg, approach the nest and then place the egg with L1/LB + Triangle/Y. The egg starts pulsing with an orange light - that's a good sign. About five minutes in real time later, it starts trembling. That's the signal: interact with it to trigger the hatching. This Baby Wyvern is now your pet companion, congratulations!

When does the Baby Wyvern become an adult?
At the launch of update 1.08, growing into an adult simply didn't exist - Pearl Abyss had promised to add it later. And they kept their word. The growth feature was introduced in a later patch, referenced as version 1.10 in some guides. In short: if your game is up to date, continuing to feed and take care of your Baby Wyvern is no longer just a promise of future content - it's real progress toward its adult form. Honestly, that's good news for those who had set the game aside while waiting for this feature.
The recommendation remains the same: feed your baby regularly and don't neglect it. The precise growth mechanics (food thresholds, required time) are still to be confirmed as patches roll out, but the direction is there.
