Brawl Stars: Cosmo, the mythic brawler of the Royal Academy — 2 gadgets, 2 star powers, 1,900 credits and no HP announced
In brief
Cosmo, the mythical control brawler announced for Brawl Stars, costs 1,900 credits and arrives without a single published stat: no HP, no damage, nothing. Its attack fires three projectiles in orbit that grow and hit harder as they spread; its Super marks an enemy and turns teammates' shots into homing projectiles for the team. Two gadgets, two Star Powers to unlock at random, and confusion over a French translation of a Star Power that only the English version clarifies.
The August 2026 patch notes for Brawl Stars went live on Supercell's French blog, dated September 4, 2026. The French page's publishDate field records 13:02 UTC, i.e. 15:02 in Paris (our conversion); the English page's dates back to September 1. The translation arrived three days after the original.
These notes open the Royal Academy season and introduce two mythic brawlers, Cosmo and Vince. We read the entry for the first one line by line in both languages: they don't say the same thing about one of his star powers.
A control brawler, with no gimmick, and not a single number
The exact title of his entry is "Cosmo - Mythic - Control". Supercell presents him as "the chief astronomer at the Starr Park Observatory," whom we find "deep in stargazing, searching for something..." The next line is blunt: "Gimmick: none." His release twin, however, does have one: Vince spawns caterpillars that he turns into moths, and loses "50% of his collection" when he gets eliminated.
The awkward part lies elsewhere. The notes give no numeric value at all for Cosmo: no HP total, no damage per projectile, no range, no reload speed, no cooldown. The contrast is stark against the reworked brawlers in the same document, which are numbered down to the detail — Amber's tank is announced at "3,500 HP," Chuck's super moves to "4 charges." Across Cosmo's entire entry, there are only four numbers: 3 projectiles, 6 seconds, 25% and 2 ammo.
ORBIT and GRAVITATIONAL FORCE: an attack with variable geometry, a super for the team
The main attack is summed up in two sentences: "Cosmo fires 3 projectiles that orbit in a circle. The further the projectiles travel, the more they spread apart from each other and grow in size and damage." The English version says exactly the same thing.
What this implies is not spelled out by the publisher; here is our reading of it. Close to Cosmo, the three projectiles stay grouped together and small: they can all hit the same target, but each one hits weakly. Far away, each one is bigger and more powerful, but the growing gap opens up empty lanes. The notes never state at what distance the growth begins, nor whether it caps out.
The super, meanwhile, is described this way in French: "Cosmo sends out a positive magnet that attaches to an enemy and pulls allied projectiles toward it." The wording is ambiguous on a point that changes everything: does "toward it" refer to Cosmo, or to the marked enemy?
The English version settles it: "Cosmo fires a positive magnet that attaches to an enemy. Teammates' projectiles then gain extreme homing toward the target." In other words, and this is our translation, it's the teammates' projectiles that home in hard on the marked target. The super therefore doesn't boost Cosmo's own damage output: it turns his two partners' shots into homing projectiles. It's a setup tool for the team, not a dueling tool.

PLANETARY PROJECTION or TELE-TRAP: two gadgets, two moments
The first one fits in a single line: "Cosmo pushes enemies away from the targeted area." No radius, no push distance, no cooldown. The second is more talkative: "Cosmo uses his telescope to reveal an area for 6 seconds (including invisible enemies) and prevent enemies within it from using their movement abilities."
On this second gadget, the English version is more precise than the French one: it lists what these "movement abilities" cover — "dashes, jumps, teleports, and more." The French reader has to guess. Yet the same notes document several of these abilities on reworked brawlers: the dash from El Primo's Suplex Supplement gadget, the dash from Chuck's super, the jump from Shade's Fearsome Fumes gadget.
| Ability | French Label | English Label | Published Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Attack | ORBITE | ORBIT | 3 projectiles in a circle, spreading and growing with distance |
| Super | FORCE GRAVITATIONNELLE | GRAVITATIONAL PULL | Magnet on an enemy; teammates' projectiles home in on them |
| Gadget 1 | PROJECTION PLANÉTAIRE | PLANETARY PUSHBACK | Pushes enemies out of the targeted area (no published value) |
| Gadget 2 | TÉLESCOPIÈGE | TELESCOPE TRAP | Reveals an area for 6 seconds, invisible enemies included; blocks movement abilities |
| Star Power 1 | PRÉCESSION | PRECESSION | +25%, but the two versions disagree on which speed is affected |
| Star Power 2 | ATTIRAIL ATTIRÉ | AMMO ATTRACTOR | Hitting an enemy with the super recharges 2 ammo |
PRECESSION or AMMO ATTRACTOR: the only percentage, and a disagreement between languages
Here's the passage that made us go back to the English page. In French: "increases the movement speed of the main attack's projectiles by 25%." In English: "Increases the orbit speed of Cosmo's main attack by 25%."
The two versions agree on the number, not on what it modifies. Projectile movement speed refers to the speed at which they travel forward, hence their flight time and the dodge window left to the opponent. The English "orbit speed" refers to the rotation speed around the circle. These are not the same in-game consequences, and the star power's name — precession is a movement of the rotation axis — rather supports the English reading. We're not asserting anything: as of September 6, 2026, the French blog's index has no post more recent than these notes. The French client's label will take precedence, and it will need to be checked in-game.
The second star power is crystal clear: "hitting an enemy with Cosmo's super recharges 2 ammo." The difference in nature is stark: PRECESSION applies to every shot, unconditionally, while AMMO ATTRACTOR yields nothing until the magnet connects. Its payoff depends on your accuracy with the super. This is our analysis; the notes do not rank the two.
Unlocking Cosmo: 1,900 credits and a randomly drawn gadget
These notes replace the Starr Road with Brawler Shooting Range, and Cosmo, a Mythic, costs 1,900 credits there. Two caps directly concern him: only one gadget and one star power can drop through unlocking, and the document specifies that in both cases the draw is "random." So you don't get to choose which of his two gadgets or which of his two star powers you receive first.
A general rule conditions what follows: a brawler cannot receive a hypercharge or a buff until it has been released, the document's parenthetical explicitly excluding early access. It targets all newcomers, not Cosmo by name. The patch notes confirm this by omission: the new hypercharges only concern Nori and Wendy, and the buffs only Poco, El Primo, Amber, Gus, Chuck, and Shade.
One last point: no release date has been announced, neither for Cosmo nor for Vince, in French or in English. At no point does the studio write when Cosmo becomes playable, nor whether he goes through early access. Third-party sites are putting forward a schedule: that is not a source from the publisher, so we are not repeating it. One last curiosity in the profile: Supercell publishes prestige title 1, "Intergalactic Skill," and prestige title 3, "Shooting Star," but skips the second one — Vince's follows the same cut.
What to remember
- Role and rarity: "Cosmo - Mythic - Control," without further detail, for 1,900 credits.
- His mechanic: three orbiting projectiles whose size and damage increase with distance, with no published threshold.
- His super serves the team: the magnet marks an enemy and attracts teammates' projectiles toward it. Only the English version states this clearly.
- TELE-TRAP is the best documented gadget: 6 seconds of reveal and blocking of dashes, jumps, and teleports.
- The star power choice remains unresolved: the 25% of PRECESSION applies to projectile speed in French, and to orbit speed in English.
- What nobody knows: his HP, his damage, his range, his cooldowns, and his release date.
