Brawl Stars Windstock City: Season 53 Guide and Rewards
In brief
Windstock, Season 53 of Brawl Stars, revolves around gear fusions — a new power system that replaces Nano-boosts by stacking them at random. Before Wendy arrives on August 13, you need to farm smoothie prizes, master the Cursed Tower (the most rewarding event), and understand how the August 4 maintenance reshaped the meta.
Brawl Stars moved into its Season 53, Windstock, on August 6, 2026. It runs until September 3: so there's a little under four weeks left to complete everything. And contrary to what the poster suggests, the new brawler isn't playable yet — Wendy only arrives starting August 13, via her release event.
The next five days aren't dead time, though. This is exactly the window where you build up your fusion collection, where the Cursed Tower hands out the most smoothie prizes, and where the balance maintenance from August 4 finishes reshaping the meta. This guide only covers what's playable today, Saturday, August 8.

Fusions vs. Nano-boosts: the real break in Windstock
The previous season, NanoNoodles, revolved around Nano prizes and Nano-boosts. Windstock reuses the same framework but changes the core rule, and that's the point many players miss when they arrive.
A Nano-boost granted three powers specific to a brawler, and the game offered you two at the start of the match: you picked one. A fusion also grants three powers, but at the start of the match the game randomly fuses two of them. You no longer decide anything, you take the result as it comes — in exchange, your brawler keeps both effects for the whole match.
This shifts what makes a brawler valuable. Under Nano-boosts, a brawler with one excellent power and two mediocre ones stayed very strong: you just picked the good one when it appeared. Under fusions, it becomes a lottery, because two draws out of three will saddle you with at least one weak power. So favor brawlers whose three powers all hold up well together, no matter which pair gets drawn. There are 106 fusions to unlock, split across four rarity tiers: basic, optimized, cybernetic, and quantum.
Good news for those who farmed in July: Nano-boosts haven't been disabled. They still work in the relevant modes, and if you get a fusion for a brawler that already had a Nano-boost, the fusion simply replaces the Nano-boost. Both of your collections coexist.
Where to farm smoothie prizes, and how to open them
Smoothie prizes are the only source of fusions. Supercell lists five: daily wins, megaquests, the Cursed Tower, side quests, and QR codes from content creators.
Opening one isn't a game of skill: each smoothie prize shows five cups, you pick three of them, and each cup holds anywhere from zero to three sips. One sip equals one reward. A smoothie prize therefore yields between 1 and 9 rewards, and the outcome is purely random. No point agonizing for thirty seconds before tapping a cup. Each prize opened also fills up the smoothie meter, which unlocks bonus rewards on the side.
The efficient routine comes down to three habits. Collect your daily wins without exception: this is the steadiest source of income and it can't be made up later. Open the side quests tab at the start of the week — they're tied to the brawlers of the week and some require a minimum power level, so it's best to spot that early rather than discover it on a Sunday evening. Finally, never skip the daily Cursed Tower.
Cursed Tower: plan before you launch, not during
The Cursed Tower is the most rewarding new event of the season, and the easiest to mess up. The concept: five floors, with a game mode and map imposed for each floor, and only one tower per day while the event is active. You need at least 325 trophies and 8 brawlers on your account to access it.
At the start, the game offers you a selection of 5 to 12 of your brawlers, all maxed out, including buffs, giving priority to those for which you own a Hypercharge or a Gadget boost. Direct consequence: the more Hypercharges you unlock, the better the selection you're offered. Farming smoothie rewards mechanically improves your future towers.
The rule that changes everything is this: if you win, the brawler used stays on that floor and you move up — so you have to pick another one for the next floor. If you lose, you stay on the floor, but the brawler you just played leaves the selection for good. In other words, a perfect tower run uses up five brawlers, and every defeat burns through one more without letting you advance.
The right approach is therefore to look at all five modes before launching anything and map out your brawlers on paper. Save your specialists for the floors that require them: a brawler who only shines in Hot Zone or Brawl Ball has no reason to be spent on a Gem Grab floor where three of your other brawlers will do just fine. The classic mistake is sending your best all-rounder to floor 1 "to secure the start," only to end up on floor 4 with nothing but unsuitable options left.
Two useful details: the event can also be played as a team, but only between players on the same floor. And a perfect run, five floors cleared in a row without a single defeat, earns the "Unbeatable" title on top of the floor rewards.
Windstock also features Mecha Guard, a co-op mode where the team escorts and recharges Meg's mecha battery before a final boss. The convoy only moves forward if someone stays nearby, but staying alive comes first: moving away to clear a wave is often the right call, as long as one player holds the position.
The meta as of August 8: what the August 4 maintenance changed
Two days before Windstock's launch, Supercell rolled out a balance maintenance affecting both brawlers and Nano-boosts. On the nerf side, it targets Corbac (Crow in other languages), Griff, Starr Nova, Damian, and Bolt. On the buff side, it raises Belle, Wally, Bo, Mortis, Ricochet, and Penny.
Corbac's case sums up the past month's trajectory. The official June patch notes raised his main attack damage from 320 to 420, before the July 8 maintenance brought it back down to 380; the August 4 update returns it to 320, the starting point. Over the same period, his HP, poison duration, and hypercharge return damage had already been reduced.
This maintenance extends the logic of the June update, which had severely reined in the aggressive meta: Colette, Leon, Chester, Edgar, Lumi and Pearl had all been hit, while neglected snipers — Piper, Mandy — got a damage boost. In practice, poking and map control are gaining value again against assassins, and the escape gadgets that made certain brawlers untouchable now take much longer to recharge.
The Windstock Brawl Pass and the 26-day window
This season's Brawl Pass showcases two epic skins, Biotech Byron and Retrofuturistic Rosa, each available in two chromas — Eco Byron and Leaf Master Byron on one side, Green Energy Rosa and Sci-Fi Rosa on the other. Be careful how it works: the standard premium tier only unlocks one of the two, you need the higher tier to walk away with both skin lines. The season also offers the title "Aero-Boosted".
The rest of the Windstock collection is available through the shop or as prizes: Salt and Pepper Kenji, Energized Wally and Turbinator Moe for 199 gems, Windstock Gray in legendary rarity for 299 gems, and Mega Mecha Meg for 499 gems.
A fundamental change is worth flagging for those planning their budget: since the June update, the end of the Brawl Pass no longer includes bonus boxes purchasable with gems. This end-of-season gem sink has disappeared, making the trade-off between skins and progression sharper than before. With 26 days left as of August 8, an account that banks its daily wins and quests has no reason to panic — an account that skips three days a week does.
Wendy on August 13: what you need to know right now
Wendy is the game's 106th brawler, of Mythic rarity and Support class. Her profile is unusual: she's the brawler with the lowest HP in the game, offset by long range, fast reload, and above all shields. Her two distinctive traits: she walks on water, and she charges her super by taking damage.
Her attack, Hair Dryer, deals damage and grants her a shield in the process; aimed at an ally, it instead gives them a 2,000 HP shield. Her super, Protective Dome, deploys a generator that absorbs 75% of the damage taken by Wendy and her allies within range. Her gadgets are Aero Boost (a short jump, crossing walls and water) and Green Grenade (slows and blocks automatic regeneration). Her star powers: Slowing Shield, which slows enemies inside the generator, and Solar Shield, which adds 2,000 HP to the generator.
Unlocking her will first go through a launch event starting August 13, where you earn boxes by racking up wins; Wendy will then join the standard progression, unlockable with Credits. Two pieces of advice until then: save your Credits rather than burning them on a brawler you won't play, and keep in mind that since the June update, leaving a match during a brawler launch event triggers a warning, followed eventually by a matchmaking access restriction.
Your schedule for the next five days
Between now and August 13, the priority is simple: maximize the number of unlocked fusions before Wendy's arrival, because this stockpile will determine both your power in the event modes and the quality of the picks the Cursed Tower offers you. Daily wins every day, a daily Cursed Tower planned mode by mode, side quests checked at the start of the week, megaquests completed before the end of their cycle.
And if you're coming back after a long absence, don't try to catch up on July: missed Nano-boosts can no longer be farmed. Everything has to go through the smoothie prizes, still open for twenty-six days.
