No Rest for the Wicked: 1.0 delayed to March 2027 on PS5 and PC
In brief
No Rest for the Wicked pushes its 1.0 release back to March 2027 instead of October 2026. Moon Studios cites the need to polish performance and the class system, with an open beta test planned for December to soften the blow.
No Rest for the Wicked was aiming for October 2026 for its 1.0. That's not happening: Moon Studios is pushing back the full release to March 2027, five months later than planned, with no exact date for now.
The announcement comes directly from Thomas Mahler, CEO and Creative Director of the studio, via a video published on Moon Studios' official YouTube channel. The reason given: polishing performance, locking down the still-in-progress class system, and delivering a game worthy of what the community has been expecting since the early access launch in 2024. No exact new date has been announced yet, just the month.

Why this delay is rubbing people the wrong way
The timing stings. The announcement comes as players were preparing for an imminent release, just weeks away from the original deadline. On social media, disappointment mixes with a certain resignation: the game already impresses in early access, so it might as well be allowed to mature properly rather than being rushed out half-finished.

A small consolation prize: a new open beta test will arrive in December, the final step before launch, with a preview of the class system and new content. Players who bought the game before January 1, 2027 will also get an exclusive founder pack. As for the rest, there are no Xbox or Switch versions planned for the immediate future, due to the hardware limitations of the Xbox Series S according to Moon Studios. A technical choice that inevitably limits the title's commercial reach somewhat in the short term.
