WoW Midnight: Abundant Delves, keys, and Fungal Fallout depths — what has changed in Delves since August 19
In brief
On August 19, 2026, World of Warcraft: Midnight finally unlocked its Delves in full with the arrival of Bountiful Delves and keys, transforming a skeletal structure into a complete system. Blizzard also switched Mythic 0 to a daily reset instead of weekly, and introduced three new locations including the Venomfall Depths as the new Nemesis, without official details on their contents.
Since the week of August 19, 2026, Season 2 Delves in World of Warcraft: Midnight have been running in their complete configuration. Blizzard unlocked Bountiful Delves and keys that day, the two remaining elements that had been missing since the partial opening the previous week. This Thursday, August 20, you're therefore playing the first week where the system is complete.
The nuance isn't cosmetic. Between August 11 and 19, you could already launch Delves at all levels, but the announcement is explicit about what was missing: "all levels, no Bountiful Delves." The framework was there, but the reward layer that justifies going back wasn't. That's the lock that was lifted on August 19, along with the keys.
This article sticks to Blizzard's French announcement from August 19, 2026, "Available: Venomous Abyss raid, Mythic+ and PvP Season 2, and more!" The source is natively French: all the labels quoted here come from the FR client. On Delves, it says little — and when it says nothing, we write that.
What exactly changed on August 19
The section "Venture into the depths of madness with Delves" fits into two lines of a calendar. Here they are as Blizzard publishes them.
| Week | What's open in Delves |
|---|---|
| Week of August 11 | All levels, no Bountiful Delves |
| Week of August 19 | Bountiful Delves and keys |
One clarification: the same page contradicts itself slightly, with its general calendar placing Delves in the "week of August 12" while the dedicated section writes "week of August 11." Blizzard doesn't explain the discrepancy and we won't invent one; what matters is that the full unlock is dated August 19 in both places.
The general calendar also pairs the Delves line with a level mention that isn't really one: "Season 2 Delves – Nemesis, level ?", then "Nemesis, level ??" for the week of August 19. These are indeed question marks in the official text. Blizzard has therefore not published any numeric level for the Season 2 Nemesis Delve. Any value read elsewhere does not come from this announcement.
Bountiful Delves: the missing reward layer
This is the most important point of the week, and paradoxically the one the Delves section addresses the least: Blizzard merely dates Bountiful Delves, without a single descriptive sentence. No number of chests, no duration, no item level.
The only usable definition on the entire page is found elsewhere, in the Season 2 Hunt reward track. Two perks describe in black and white what these Delves contain:
- "Poor Souls Lost I" (track level 4): starting at level 6, a Bountiful Delve can yield Afflicted Souls in its Heavy Coffer. Spent on a Nightmare-mode Hunt, they advance the Hunt faster and unlock an additional Champion-tier gear bundle, once per character per week.
- "Poor Souls Lost II" (track level 9): same level threshold, same Heavy Coffer, but Tormented Souls instead, which this time unlock a Hero-tier gear bundle, under the same weekly restriction.
The most straightforward reading of these two passages — and we present it as a reading, not as a Blizzard statement — is that an Abundant Delve is a Delve that contains a heavy chest, content absent from ordinary Delves. As long as they didn't exist, the week of August 11 could produce neither afflicted souls nor tormented souls: the bridge between the Delves and the Hunt's nightmare mode was cut off. This is the most tangible reason why the week of August 11 was incomplete.

Keys: what the page writes, and what it doesn't write
Let's be clear: regarding keys, the official announcement contains exactly one word, "keys," in the line "Week of August 19: Abundant Delves and keys." No item name, no source of acquisition, no weekly cap, no description of what they open. No other section of the page returns to this.
What can be said safely is the structure of the announcement: Blizzard places keys and Abundant Delves on the same line, for the same week, whereas it separates the other tiers. And the only container the page names in a Delve is the heavy chest. The connection is hard to ignore, but it remains ours.
Practical consequence this Thursday, August 20: don't build your week around an assumed function for keys. Check in-game what your characters actually accumulate at the end of a Delve, and pace yourself accordingly.
The depths of Venomfall, season 2's Nemesis Delve
Season 2 brings three locations, which Blizzard lists in a single sentence: "Enter the Arena of Glory, explore Twistvine Isle, and dive into the depths of Venomfall (Nemesis Delve) for new rewards." Three captioned images accompany this sentence. And that's it.
It must be stated clearly, because it is unusual for a season announcement: the page describes none of the three locations. No theme, no structure, no boss, no dedicated reward. To find out what awaits you in the Arena of Glory or on Twistvine Isle, you'll have to go in.
The notable point remains the Nemesis rotation: it is now the depths of Venomfall that carry this role. In season 1, it fell to the Nemesis of Torment's Eminence, which we detailed on July 28; that guide will no longer apply, as both the location and the encounter change. Here again, Blizzard publishes neither the new Nemesis's level — the famous "level ??" — nor its rewards.

Mythic 0 reset daily: the most accessible 292 gear of the week
That's the other change from August 19th, too easily overlooked in the announcement given how many hours of gameplay it represents. Since the week of August 12th, the Mythic 0 mode for Midnight dungeons was "reset weekly" and granted "item level 292 gear." Since the week of August 19th, the official wording changes on one decisive word: it "resets daily and grants item level 292 gear."
The item level itself doesn't change: 292 in both cases. What changes is the frequency. A weekly lockout per dungeon gave a fixed number of attempts, quickly exhausted across the season's rotation of eight dungeons. A daily lockout turns it into a source of gear you can farm every day, across as many dungeons as you have time for.
If your gear is lagging behind on August 20th, this is your most reliable and least demanding lever: no key to burn, no timer, no score to defend. Chain Mythic 0 runs every day and let the 292s replace your weakest pieces. Blizzard also states that Season 2 gear has been available in the Great Vault since that same week of August 19th, without specifying which activities feed which slot: here again, we stop where the source stops.
Your week of August 20th: order of priority
Here's how to prioritize the days remaining before the next reset, sticking only to what's documented.
- Mythic 0, every day. The only gear source on this list whose frequency was loosened this week, and its item level 292 is stated in black and white. Don't save it for the end of the week.
- Abundant Delves, starting at level 6, if your Hunt reward track has reached level 4. That's the threshold Blizzard explicitly cites for the heavy coffer and the tainted souls. Below that, the page promises nothing specific.
- A visit to the depths of Venomfang, to see the Nemesis's level and rewards for yourself, since the announcement doesn't publish them. A scouting run, not a farming session.
- Glory Arena and Torsadine Island after that, in whichever order suits you: no official information favors one over the other.
Finally, keep an eye on the rest of the Season 2 schedule, published in the same announcement: it doesn't concern Delves, but it determines when your playtime will shift toward the raid.
| Week | Opens |
|---|---|
| Week of August 26th | The Venomous Abyss: Story Mode and Wing 2 in Raid Finder mode |
| Week of September 2nd | The Venomous Abyss: Wing 3 in Raid Finder mode |
| Week of September 9th | The Venomous Abyss: Wing 4 in Raid Finder mode |
So you have a full week before the first tier drops on August 26th. That's the window to build up your gear with daily Mythic 0 runs and take the measure of the three Delves while they're still the priority.
