WoW September 2026 Trading Post: Crested Ember Leafmimic Mount

Blizzard released the September 2026 Trading Post list yesterday, Monday, August 24. The theme is friendship, BlizzCon 2026 serves as the backdrop, and this month's reward is a mount: the Crested Ember Leafmimic.

The Trading Post is the most cost-effective system in World of Warcraft for anyone already paying for a subscription — and one of the most underused, because its monthly cap mechanic is poorly understood. Here's a full rundown, backed by official figures.

How Trader's Tender works: 500 given, 500 to earn, and not a single one more

There are two sources of Trader's Tender, and only one is automatic.

• 500 Trader's Tender automatically granted at the start of each month, into a chest called the Collector's Cache, to any account with active playtime or a subscription. Blizzard states that the amount is "the same for everyone, regardless of how you pay for your game time" — paying with tokens or with real money makes no difference.
• Up to 500 additional Trader's Tender from Traveler's Log activities, accessible via the Adventure Guide (Shift-J), starting at level 10.

And here's the point that half of players don't know, spelled out in black and white by Blizzard: "You can only earn a fixed amount of Trader's Tender each month by completing activities. So you won't need to complete all of them in the Traveler's Log every month." Once the bar is full, additional activities no longer reward anything. Clearing the entire log is a pure waste of time.

The monthly cap is therefore 1,000 Trader's Tender. What isn't spent isn't lost: "Your Trader's Tender won't disappear and will accumulate over time."

Freezing: the only way to keep an item beyond the month

A monthly item disappears on rotation. Unless you freeze it: "When you freeze an item, it will remain available over time until it is purchased or replaced." The verb used by Blizzard — the frozen item stays "until it is purchased or replaced" — indicates that this is a single slot, not a wish list. Use it on the most expensive piece you can't yet afford, not on a 30-Trader's Tender belt.

This month's reward: the Crested Ember Leafmimic

It cannot be purchased. You fill the bar at the top of the Traveler's Log, and the mount drops. Its in-game description: "This hardy leafmimic only lives in the hottest regions. Its red scales allow it to camouflage itself in the sweltering nooks it favors."

A detail that matters for collectors: two other leafmimics are available for purchase this month, the Crested Aqua Leafmimic and the Crested Verdant Leafmimic, at 500 Trader's Tender each. Three variants of the same mount in one month, one of them free — if you only want one, take the one that costs nothing.

September mounts and pets

Gummi is the real curiosity of the month. Blizzard notes: "This month, the previous promotional pet, Gummi, makes its first appearance at the Trading Post." A vanity worm previously reserved for a promotional campaign, now available for 250 Trader's Tender. Official description: "Gummi vanity worms have many natural predators, as they're known for their chewy texture and sweet flavor."

The five Bracelets of Friendship, at 50 Trader's Tender each

This is the month's themed collection, and it's cheap. Five bracelets, wrist slot, 50 Trader's Tender each:

• Dragon's Eye Diamond Bracelet of Friendship
• Moonstone Bracelet of Friendship
• Moss Agate Bracelet of Friendship
• Souldarite Bracelet of Friendship
• Star Ruby Bracelet of Friendship

The full collection costs 250 Trader's Tender, a quarter of the monthly cap. Compare that to the only genuinely pricey armor piece this month, the Ensemble: The Speaker's Ceremonial Collection, at 575 Trader's Tender for nine slots (head, shoulders ×2, chest, waist, legs, feet, hands, back).

The rest of the armor transmogrifications

Two color variants — aquatic and brick — reappear across nearly every piece, and prices remain modest:

• 30 Trader's Tender: Aquatic / Brick Dunecloth Belt;
• 35 Trader's Tender: Skirt and vest, in Dunecloth, in both shades;
• 40 Trader's Tender: Bandit's Highboots, in both shades;
• 50 Trader's Tender: all the headpieces — Gloomcap, Winter Toque, Crown of Springflowers, Gunslinger's Lid — plus the five Bracelets of Friendship;
• 100 Trader's Tender: the three classic tabards (Brick, Crimson, Lively) and the Sweatsuit and Sorcerer's Garb ensembles.

Weapons: a flat 150 Trader's Tender

The entire weapons section this month is priced flat at 150 Trader's Tender, which is rare. Three materials come in the same models — Draenite, Pyrestone, Talasite:

• Battle-Hardened War Maul (two-handed mace) and Ceremonial War Maul (one-handed mace), in all three materials;
• Elegant Chopper (one-handed axe) and Grand War Axe (two-handed axe), in all three materials;
• Foxton's Song of Strength and Foxton's Song of Warmth, two one-handed axes.

The description of the Pyrestone version sets the tone: "The edge of the Pyrestone head shimmers like the skies of the Blade's Edge Mountains."

The BlizzCon Outlet: where your accumulated Trader's Tender will go

This is the section long-time players are waiting for. For BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard is reopening the Trading Post Outlet in Dornogal and the capital of Silvermoon, with the Tawney and Wilder and Zen'shiri Trading Post teams. There you'll find mounts, pets, toys, and transmogrifications from past offerings — and, usefully, "the month's bonus rewards" missed the first time around can be repurchased there with Trader's Tender.

A few price points in this Outlet, from cheapest to priciest:

At 900 Trader's Tender, Ash'adar, Harbinger of Dawn eats up 90% of a full month's worth. This is exactly the kind of purchase the freeze feature was designed for: freeze the item, collect the 500 Trader's Tender on October 1st, then buy it.

Where to find the vendors

Blizzard reminds players of the three locations, which haven't changed:

• Stormwind — at T&W (Tawney and Wilder), right outside the Mage District;
• Orgrimmar — at the Zen'shiri Trading Post vendor, next to Grommash Hold;
• Dornogal, on the Isle of Dorn — at the The Foregrounds, where both teams share the space.

One caveat worth noting: "The Trading Post feature will not be available for WoW Classic games." The Trading Post is exclusive to the modern game.

This month's plan, in four steps

1. Collect the 500 Trader's Tender from the Collector's Cache on September 1st.
2. Fill the Traveler's Log bar (Shift-J) up to the cap, no further: it rewards the Crested Ember Leafmimic and the remaining 500 Trader's Tender.
3. Grab the five Bracelets of Friendship at 50 Trader's Tender each if the set interests you: 250 Trader's Tender for the full collection, which won't return.
4. Freeze the priciest BlizzCon Outlet item on your list before the end of the month, and buy it in October.
