In brief

Chaos Cubed overhauled Minecraft world generation in June 2026: sulfur caverns, geysers, new cinnabar blocks. These ten seeds, verified in Java 1.26.2 and Bedrock 26.30, drop you right next to major points of interest and brand-new biomes, so you can save hours of grinding from the very first night.

Since the release of Chaos Cubed on June 16, 2026, world generation has changed enough that most of 2025's cult seeds have lost their charm. Sulfur caverns now pierce the Overworld beneath swamps and deserts, geysers give away their location on the surface, and sulfur cubes squat in the most unlikely biomes. Suffice to say it's time to start over. Here are ten carefully selected seeds, verified on Java Edition 1.26.2 and Bedrock 26.30, complete with coordinates, points of interest, and reasons to plant your first bed there.

Chaos Cubed in July 2026: why these seeds are worth it

Patch 26.2 on Java (and 26.30 on Bedrock) was rolled out the same day across all platforms. It brings four changes that directly affect seed selection: a new underground biome (sulfur caverns), surface geyser generation, a partial redistribution of ores in the strata where cinnabar appears, and a modification to the hitboxes of several mobs that influences cave spawns. As a result, two worlds generated with the same seed on 1.21 and on 1.26.2 won't have the same underground map.

For a player picking Minecraft back up in July, a good seed has a twofold benefit. First, saving time: finding a village, a Woodland Mansion, and an Ancient City within a thousand blocks of spawn saves several hours of travel. Second, getting your hands on the new content: a sulfur cavern biome close to spawn grants immediate access to the Bounce music disc, cinnabar blocks, and the sulfur cube farm the whole community is currently building.

The 4 new 26.2 features that change world generation

  • Sulfur caverns: a yellow-green underground biome generating mainly beneath swamps, deserts, and sometimes under river valleys, between Y=-30 and Y=50.
  • Surface geysers: new features that indicate the presence of a sulfur cavern below. Handy for spotting the biome without mining blind.
  • Cinnabar and sulfur blocks: complete families (polished, bricks, slabs, stairs, walls, chiseled) that replace the usual stone and ores within the biome.
  • Experimental Vulkan renderer: purely graphical, but it dramatically changes the rendering of the green fog and makes certain seeds far more readable.

Java 1.26.2 or Bedrock 26.30: entering your seed correctly

A reminder that saves a lot of disappointment: a seed does not generate the same world on Java and Bedrock. The two versions use distinct world generation algorithms. Every seed listed below carries a note of its edition. On Java, enter the exact number (including the minus sign if there is one) in New World > More World Options > Seed for the World Generator. On Bedrock, do the same in Create New World > Advanced > Seed. Always check that the version shown in the bottom right of the main menu matches the version listed in the final table: a seed tested on 26.2 is not guaranteed on 26.30 (or vice versa), even though the major biomes often remain consistent.

Our 3 seeds designed for sulfur caverns

1. Open-air sulfur caves (Java)

Seed: 17825001432Version: Java 1.26.2

Extremely rare: a sulfur cave surfaces in a forest, with its green pools, its sulfur stalagmites, and two active geysers. Spawn is located about a hundred blocks northwest of the formation, in a regular forest. You can set up an observation base there without digging a single tunnel and start farming cinnabar in under ten minutes. Watch out for the toxic gas: keep a stack of cow's milk in your hotbar before diving into the baths.

2. Beach, desert, village, and sulfur cave (Java & Bedrock)

Seed: 110000004609178390Version: Java 1.26.2 and Bedrock 26.30

Probably the most versatile seed to come out since the patch. You spawn on a beach; to the west, a desert village with a blacksmith; to the south, a sulfur cave accessible through a simple natural opening at Y=45. The nearby ocean gives access to a camel (in the village) and several shipwrecks to kick off your first batch of enchantments. Ideal for a first 26.2 world, even on Bedrock: the points of interest are found at roughly the same coordinates on both editions.

3. Cinnabar beneath a swamp (Bedrock)

Seed: 2730736955036560709Version: Bedrock 26.30

The desert spawn hides a double surprise: a glowing coral reef less than 200 blocks to the east, and a swamp to the north whose underground contains one of the largest cinnabar veins generated so far. A Pillager Outpost at around 400 blocks completes the picture and quickly provides an ominous banner.

4 multi-structure seeds for a lightning-fast start

4. Four villages at spawn (Java & Bedrock)

Seed: 302304127329527063

A great classic brought back up to date. You spawn in the middle of a taiga surrounded by four distinct villages less than 300 blocks away. An abandoned mineshaft runs beneath the first village at Y=25, and a shipwreck surfaces on the beach about 500 blocks to the east. Perfect for a co-op seed: each player can set up their base in a different village without stepping on each other's toes.

5. Woodland Mansion + Trial Chambers (Java & Bedrock)

Seed: 5228792556140118947

The snowy taiga spawn gives access to a huge plains village about 200 blocks away, a Woodland Mansion 800 blocks to the northeast (approximate coordinates 780 / 68 / -410), and two stacked Trial Chambers in the caves that open up right beneath the village. This is the best seed for a speed-loot run: Totem of Undying in the mansion, trial key in the chambers, all in under two nights.

6. Cherry Grove island (Java & Bedrock)

Seed: 2048005618087379093

A small wooded island in a Flower Forest, surrounded by a lake, with a Cherry Grove as a backdrop. A village accessible by swimming to the west, an Ancient City 600 blocks beneath the main lake, a Pillager Outpost, and a Ruined Portal cover every need for the start of a playthrough. An excellent aesthetic choice for posting screenshots.

7. Structures everywhere (Bedrock)

Seed: -6164242300824111422Version: Bedrock 26.30

The densest seed for structures we've tested this month. Around the spawn: Ancient City less than 400 blocks away, rare underground village, shipwreck to the west, Cherry Grove biome to the north, and a sulfur cave generated diagonally beneath the Ancient City. This is the ideal world for a player who wants to see everything before settling down.

3 Collector's Seeds

8. Crater Between Badlands and Forest (Java)

Seed: 8888947383120075748Version: Java 1.26.2

The spawn is located in a plains area wedged between a red Badlands and a classic forest. The transition forms a spectacular natural crater, dotted with trial ruins in the open. The Badlands promises intensive gold mining (the ore generates everywhere between Y=32 and Y=79), and cave generation is particularly generous in 26.2: several cinnabar pockets are exposed along the main canyon.

9. Ancient City + Abandoned Mineshaft (Java)

Seed: 4189766944005904899Version: Java 1.26.2

Coordinates to remember: 189 / -27 / 179. The Ancient City and the abandoned mineshaft literally cross paths at the same spot, allowing for a Warden run and a rails run in the same outing. The Nether portal can be built on site thanks to the nearby lava vein, and the return to the surface lands right on a flower forest village. A connoisseur's seed, particularly well suited to hardcore players.

10. Diamonds by the Ravine (Java & Bedrock)

Seed: -7723232821704547830

Birch forest at spawn with an open ravine less than 100 blocks away. At the bottom of the ravine, four diamond veins visible to the naked eye, plus a lava source flowing into a small sulfur cave generated just below. This combination didn't exist before 26.2: the patch slightly redistributed diamonds within the strata where cinnabar appears, and the result is a jackpot for Elytra speedruns.

The Chunkbase trick to scan a seed before playing

All the seeds listed above have been manually verified on 1.26.2 creative worlds. If you want to test others before committing to a survival world, the community tool Chunkbase has offered, for a few weeks now, an experimental 26.2 filter that displays estimated sulfur caves on the map. It's not perfect (geysers aren't precisely placed yet), but it's already an excellent way to spot rare biomes without launching the game. Remember to specify 1.26.2 or 26.30 in the version selector, otherwise the tool automatically falls back to 1.21.

One extra tip for Bedrock: worlds generated on Realms don't always retain the seed as shown in the F3 menu (debug menu unavailable on Bedrock). If you open the world from a Realm, first open it locally to check the seed displayed in Settings > Game, then re-upload it. That's the only reliable way to be sure the seed actually matches the one promised.

Should you migrate an old world or create a new one?

A question that's come up a lot since Chaos Cubed released: can you get a sulfur cave to generate in an existing 1.21 world? The answer is yes, but only in unexplored chunks. In practical terms, if you've already explored an entire area around your base, sulfur caves will never appear there. You need to head out far, very far, into still-untouched chunks, to benefit from the new generation. In a world that's already several years old, it's often more efficient to start fresh with one of the seeds in this list than to travel three thousand blocks just to see a geyser.

For those who absolutely want to keep their historic world, the trick is to create a reset border: note the farthest coordinates you've reached, add 500 blocks of safety margin, and head out to explore in that direction. You'll find the entire 26.2 generation, sulfur caves included, without breaking your old territory.

Verdict and next steps

Our favorites this month: 110000004609178390 for an all-terrain start across multiple editions, 17825001432 for diving straight into the Chaos Cubed content, and 4189766944005904899 for hardcore players who want to combine a Warden, an abandoned mineshaft, and the Nether in the same afternoon. Try out two or three in creative mode before committing to survival: patch 26.2 changes enough things that even seasoned veterans should take the time to go exploring again. And keep an eye on the next game drop announced for the end of the year: Mojang has hinted that the End dimension will get its first major overhaul in eight years.

You're starting a 26.2 world: top priority?

Frequently asked questions

Why don't my old seeds generate the same map anymore?
Chaos Cubed (patch 26.2 on Java, 26.30 on Bedrock) changed the underground generation algorithm: sulfur caverns, ore redistribution, new geysers. Same seed, same version: the world changes. You have to start over.
Java 1.26.2 or Bedrock 26.30: are they the same?
No. Both versions use different algorithms. A seed tested on Java isn't guaranteed to be identical on Bedrock. Large biomes generally stay consistent, but finer structures shift. Always check the version mentioned.
How do you quickly get to sulfur caverns?
Three approaches: look for a surface geyser (it indicates the cavern underneath), mine directly between Y=0 and Y=50 under a swamp or desert, or use a seed like 17825001432 where they're exposed right at the surface.
Which seed is best for a chill multiplayer start?
302304127329527063: four villages within 300 blocks of spawn, so everyone can set up their base without stress. Or 110000004609178390, compatible with both Java and Bedrock, with a village, beach, shipwrecks, and a sulfur cavern nearby.
What should you bring before diving into a sulfur cavern?
Cow's milk in your hotbar. The green gas in the caverns deals gradual damage; milk heals you. Essential for farming cinnabar without dying needlessly.

Key takeaways

  • 2025 seeds are dead: the 26.2 generation changed caves, ores, and mob spawns.
  • Sulfur caverns generated under swamps and deserts are the top loot priority for July 2026.
  • The same seed doesn't produce the same world on Java and Bedrock: ALWAYS check your version before copy-pasting.
  • Surface geysers show you where to mine to find sulfur caverns without blindly guessing.
  • Picking the right seed saves you 5 to 10 hours of travel to villages, mansions, and ancient cities.
