In brief

Sigrid is an S-rank Ice Attack agent who relies on a status system called Lancebreaker, reset in a loop to stack CRIT Rate and Stun DMG bonuses. Her gameplay boils down to three moves: stun the enemy, chain attack, then hold the basic attack button to unleash her Suppressed Lance charges during the stun window.

HoYoverse published its official French-language article "Agent Mechanics Details 丨 Sigrid" on August 14, 2026 at 6:30 PM, five days before the opening of the "Till the End of the Sky" channel, scheduled for August 19. We now finally know what the agent actually does: Sigrid is S-rank, Ice attribute, Attack specialty, affiliated with the "Roscaelifer Aerial Patrol Department", and her entire kit revolves around a state to be reactivated in a loop rather than a gauge to fill.

The principle can be summed up in one sentence. Every hit from an "Unleashed Lance" attack that lands on an enemy grants her a use of "Normal Attack: Repressed Lance" and puts her into the "Aerial Patrol Spearhead" state, which grants her CRIT Rate and an increased Stun DMG multiplier. Playing Sigrid well means resetting this state as often as possible and spending its charges during the target's stun window.

A word of caution: HoYoverse published this article in the form of infographics and GIFs, with no descriptive text on the page. All the labels cited here were taken from these official French visuals. The publisher itself adds the note "Version under development, please refer to the content of the official version", and does not communicate any numerical values.

Aerial Patrol Spearhead: the state that governs everything else

HoYoverse precisely lists what counts as an Unleashed Lance attack for Sigrid: the 4th hit of the normal attack, the EX Special Attack, the Assist Follow-Up, the Chain Attack, the Ultimate, and the Dodge Counter. In other words, everything except the first three hits of the normal attack chain. When one of these hits an enemy, Sigrid gains a use of Repressed Lance and enters the Spearhead state. If she is already in it, the state is reset — this is not a minor detail, since it is precisely this reset that relaunches the bonuses.

These bonuses work along two axes. Each trigger or reset increases Sigrid's CRIT Rate for a certain duration, and repeated triggers extend the duration of the effect: the denser the rotation, the longer the crit window stays open. Then, as long as she is in the Spearhead state and her attacks hit a stunned enemy, the Stun DMG multiplier applied to the target is increased. Her damage therefore concentrates on a full stun gauge.

Repressed Lance: three charged stages that make her hard to pull out of combat

The uses gained are spent via Normal Attack: Repressed Lance. In the Spearhead state, and only when uses are available, the normal attack button must be held down to activate it; it deals Ice DMG.

The skill has three stages. Each use raises the counter by one notch, and it resets after the 3rd hit. Key point: during execution, damage taken is reduced and the Poise Level is increased. This is therefore a long animation that can be safely unleashed at close range, which remains rare for an Attack agent.

The shield parry converts an incoming attack into increased Daze

If Sigrid is attacked during the charging phase of the first two stages of Repressed Lance and successfully parries the attack with her shield, the damage is completely negated. The gain is twofold: the next Repressed Lance deals increased Daze, and the Spearhead state is reset immediately afterward. HoYoverse specifies that the normal attack button must then be pressed to trigger the corresponding stage. A poorly timed enemy attack thus becomes an acceleration of the stun gauge, provided one does not dodge.

Ice Unleashed and Heavenly Glaciation: the burst plays out on a stunned enemy

Sigrid's chain attack is called "Ice Unleashed." She delivers a powerful piercing attack to enemies in front of her for significant Ice DMG and, more importantly, gains the "Tempering" effect, which increases the damage of subsequent Basic Attack: Suppressed Lance hits — a bonus to be used immediately, not left to sit idle.

The real turning point lies elsewhere. When Ice Unleashed first hits a Stunned elite enemy or a Stunned boss, Sigrid enters the "Formation Breaker" state: from then on, simply holding down the Basic Attack button unleashes stages 1 to 3 of Suppressed Lance in a row, without needing to recharge them. This is the agent's damage peak, explicitly conditioned on the target being Stunned. Her Ultimate, "Sky-Freezing Blow," concentrates the power of extreme cold before unleashing a devastating series of forward lunge attacks: a big raw hit, with no documented secondary effect, which also resets the Lance Tip state.

The official rotation comes down to three steps

HoYoverse displays its own reference sequence at the end of the panel dedicated to the Ultimate:

  1. trigger a chain attack after Stunning the enemy;
  2. hold down the Basic Attack button;
  3. use Unleashed Lance, then hold down the Basic Attack button again.

The logic reads easily: the chain attack triggers Formation Breaker and Tempering, holding the button unleashes all three stages in a row, then a new Unleashed Lance attack resets the Lance Tip state, restores a use, and reopens a Suppressed Lance window. Sigrid isn't an agent you send in at the start of a fight to chip away at damage: she waits her turn, then unloads everything.

Allied Legions on the Horizon: her additional ability requires a Support or Anomaly character

Sigrid's additional ability, "Allied Legions on the Horizon," sets a clear condition: when there is another Support or Anomaly character in your squad, her ATK increases. She gains a second, less universal bonus: her damage increases against enemies suffering from the Corruption status. The two team compositions recommended by the publisher are as follows:

  • Sigrid + Norma + Astra Yao;
  • Sigrid + Dialyn + Sunniva.

The infographic offers no commentary on these duos. The Bangboo serving as the article's mascot notes, moreover, that "other compositions suit Sigrid as well," leaving it up to Proxies to find them.

"Knight's Homage": stacked CRIT DMG and ignored Ice RES

The recommended W-Engine is her S-rank signature, "Knight's Homage (Attack)." Its effect is called "Knight's Rite": when the wielder's Basic Attack or EX Special Attack heavy strike hits an enemy, that enemy gains "Polearm," which increases their CRIT DMG and can stack up to twice. At two stacks, they gain the "Frozen to the Bone" effect: the wielder's damage ignores part of the target's Ice RES. This effect only works on Attack agents.

The numerical example provided by HoYoverse, based on a level 60 Phase 1 W-Engine, states 713 base ATK and 48% CRIT DMG. The engine also changes the lance's appearance, its tip glowing blue once the item is equipped. Note on availability: both Sigrid and "Knight's Homage (Attack)" are exclusive and will not be offered in the standard "Featured Channel" banner.

What the official article doesn't say

Three omissions to flag. HoYoverse names neither Sigrid's EX special attack nor her follow-up support: these skills are only mentioned as Unbridled Lance attacks, without a proper label — we won't make them up. No Drive Disc recommendations are provided. Finally, no percentages are given: neither the CRIT Rate gain, nor the duration of the effect, nor the value of the ATK bonus.

Key dates to remember

The "To the Ends of the Sky" channel opens on August 19, at the same time as the "Ode to the Cavalier" amplifier engine channel. The "Majestic Wave Pursuit" outfit will be sold at a reduced price from 08/19/2026 at 12:00 PM (server time) to 09/09/2026 at 05:59 AM (UTC+8), for 1,350 Monochrome instead of 1,680. Version 3.1 "A Long Farewell" will end on 09/09/2026 at 06:00 AM (UTC+8). In the meantime, the "In-Depth Patrol - Triple Bounty" event ends on 08/17/2026 at 03:59 AM (server time).

Frequently asked questions

How do you reset the Lancebreaker state?
By hitting an enemy with Unleashed Lance (the 4th hit of the basic attack, the EX special attack, follow-up support, chain attack, ultimate, or dodge counter). If Sigrid is already in the state, it resets and relaunches the CRIT Rate bonuses.
Why does Suppressed Lance offer damage reduction?
Because it's a long animation, and HoYoverse allows Sigrid, unlike other Attack agents, to use it up close without major risk. Damage taken is reduced and the Stun RES Level increases during execution.
What happens after a Frostbreaker on a stunned enemy?
Sigrid enters the Formation Break state and can hold the basic attack button to continuously unleash all three stages of Suppressed Lance without recharging them. This is her peak damage window, explicitly conditioned on the stun.
What rotation does HoYoverse recommend?
Chain attack on a stunned enemy > hold the basic attack button for the three stages of Suppressed Lance > Unleashed Lance to reset the Lancebreaker state and reopen a Suppressed Lance window.
Who does the publisher recommend teaming up with Sigrid?
The two official compositions are Sigrid + Norma + Astra Yao, or Sigrid + Dialyn + Sunniva. HoYoverse notes that other viable pairings exist, leaving it up to players to discover them.

Key takeaways

  • Lancebreaker is the pivotal state in her kit: every Unleashed Lance attack that connects resets it and increases Sigrid's CRIT Rate, extending the bonus window with each repeated activation
  • Suppressed Lance has three chainable stages and reduces damage taken during execution, which is why she can use this skill up close unlike other Attack agents
  • Chaining Frostbreaker on a stunned enemy triggers Formation Break, allowing all Suppressed Lance stages to be unleashed without recharging: this is the damage peak
  • Sigrid isn't a starter unit but a finisher who waits her turn to dump her entire arsenal on a stunned target
  • Her signature amp-engine Chevalier's Ode stacks CRIT DMG bonuses and partially ignores Ice RES with two stacks of Polearm
