In brief

HoYoverse is airing today at 1:30 PM (Paris time) the Zenless Zone Zero version 3.2 special program, titled "Their Hidden Stories". An exclusive redemption code will be revealed live — and only live, impossible to grab afterward. The program promises to move forward the storyline around the manipulated Bangboos and Lady Dracaene's Karma Core, featuring Clarette and Roxy at the Flint Workshop.

HoYoverse is airing today the version 3.2 special program of Zenless Zone Zero, titled "Their Secret Histories". The official announcement gives the time in the Chinese time zone: August 28 at 7:30 p.m. (UTC+8), i.e. 1:30 p.m. in Paris.

One sentence in the announcement deserves to be taken seriously before planning your day:

"During the broadcast of the program, you will be able to obtain an exclusive redemption code. Be there and don't miss it!"

The code appears on screen during the live stream. Update, August 29: contrary to what the invitation implied, HoYoverse also published it afterwards — on August 28 at 2:15 p.m. (UTC+8), in its “Information Preview” infographic. The code is FLINTWORKS, it is worth 300 Polychromes, and it stays valid until August 30, 11:59 p.m. (UTC+8), while supplies last. Missing the stream costs you nothing.

Where to watch

HoYoverse lists three official broadcasts, and invites viewers to subscribe in advance:

  • YouTube — the official channel @ZZZ_Official;
  • Twitch — the channel zenlesszonezero;
  • TikTok — the account @zenlesszonezero.

Plan to have something to write with: these codes have a very short lifespan, and can be redeemed either from within the game, or from HoYoverse's code redemption page. The announcement formally promises only one.

What the announcement already reveals about 3.2

The summary published by HoYoverse is short, but it isn't empty. It sets up three plot elements and two characters:

"The mastermind pulling the strings behind the Bangboo manipulation is still on the run, and Lady Dracaene, deprived of her Karma Core, has yet to recover from her wounds… All the clues lead us to one and the same place in Vyrium: the Flint Workshop."

In other words, 3.2 doesn't close the arc opened by 3.1: it shifts it. Two threads remain explicitly open — the identity of the mastermind behind the Bangboo manipulation, and the state of Lady Dracaene, whose Karma Core is still missing.

The two characters announced on screen

CharacterRole given by the announcement
ClaretDirector of the Flint Workshop
RoxyClaret's assistant

HoYoverse writes: "What new clues will Flint Workshop director Claret and her assistant Roxy reveal this time?", then invites viewers to catch "Mr. Z and the two agents" in the program.

The word matters: in Zenless Zone Zero's vocabulary, "agent" refers to a playable character. The announcement therefore does place Claret and Roxy in that category, alongside Mr. Z, without however specifying their rarity, their attribute, or the phase in which they'll appear. That's what the live stream is meant to settle.

What's still running in the meantime

The special program arrives in the middle of 3.1's second phase, not after it. Two deadlines are still ticking:

  • "Ding-Dong! Delivery Training in Progress": from August 28 at 10:00 a.m. to September 14 at 3:59 a.m. (server time), starting from Inter-Knot level 20 and Chapter 1 Interlude;
  • the time-limited channels of 3.1 (phase 2), open since August 17.

A special program always signals the version switchover: it's the last reasonable moment to clear out what's about to expire before receiving new targets to farm.

Where 3.1 stands at the time the program airs

The special program doesn't arrive during a lull: the second phase of version 3.1 "Long Farewells" is still running at full speed. HoYoverse has published the details in several announcements, here's the list:

Published onAnnouncement
August 17Version 3.1 (Phase 2) limited-time channels
August 17Details of new additions to the version 3.1 shop
August 17Details of the "En-Nah's Gift Rain!" event
August 17Details of the "Crispy Dish Service Plan" event
August 19Long Farewells: version 3.1 (Phase 2) content preview
August 21Details of the "A Dangerous Fugitive's Quiet Holiday" event
August 26Details of the "Ding-dong! Delivery Training in Progress" event

The last one on the list is also the longest: "Ding-dong!" runs until September 14, well past the version switch announced by the special program. The others, however, are timed to end alongside 3.1 — this is the moment to take stock of what hasn't been claimed yet.

The topic the program is extending: Sigrid

Version 3.1 was built around Sigrid, to whom HoYoverse dedicated, over three weeks, a character demo ("A Good Horse Knows the Way"), a character showcase ("My Little Sigrid"), a breakdown of agent mechanics, a new outfit ("Majestic Wave Chase"), and an image archive. Such a volume of communication around a single agent shows the place she occupies in the ongoing arc — the very one the August 28 program is meant to advance, without closing it.

The bonus nobody will notice: the community survey

On August 28, HoYoverse opened a community survey event with a prize draw, which has nothing to do with the special program but happens to fall on the same day:

  • duration: until September 13;
  • announced time: about 5 minutes;
  • prizes: 60 Amazon gift cards worth $20 each;
  • rule: winners are drawn across all platforms combined, and each Proxy can only win once.

Five minutes for a shot at a draw with sixty prizes: the time-to-odds ratio is better than that of most of the game's web events. The questionnaire is about the community, not the game — no point looking for hints about 3.2 in it.

Key takeaways

  • 11:30 UTC, on August 28 — 7:30 PM server time in Asia.
  • The redemption code only exists during the broadcast: there's no guaranteed catch-up via announcement.
  • The plot remains open regarding the manipulated Bangboos and Lady Dracaene's Karma Core; the program is being held at Flint's Workshop, in Vyrium.
  • Claret and Roxy are announced as guests, not as playable agents.

All names — characters, locations and items — are taken from the official English announcement published by HoYoverse.

Frequently asked questions

What time exactly does the special program start?
1:30 PM in Paris, which is 7:30 PM Asian server time. The schedule is fixed, so be right on time if you want to catch the redemption code.
Where can I watch the special program live?
Three official channels are broadcasting: YouTube (@ZZZ_Official), Twitch (zenlesszonezero), and TikTok (@zenlesszonezero). It's best to subscribe in advance so you don't miss the notification.
How can I get the redemption code if I miss the live broadcast?
Honestly, there's no guaranteed backup plan. The code only appears during the broadcast. Your best bet is to follow community accounts that relay it immediately, but even then, its lifespan stays very short.
Will Clarette and Roxy be playable agents?
The announcement refers to them as "agents" in the text, which suggests yes — but the details (rarity, attribute, release date) will be announced during the special program itself.
Do I need to have finished 3.1 to follow 3.2?
No, but the storyline continues without a clear resolution: 3.2 extends the open questions from 3.1 (the identity of the Bangboos' manipulators, Lady Dracaene's Karma Core) rather than resolving them.

Key takeaways

  • The 3.2 redemption code only appears during the live broadcast — no publication afterward, so you need to be there or check community relays quickly.
  • Clarette and Roxy are confirmed as important characters in 3.2, but the announcement doesn't yet specify whether they'll be playable or their rarity.
  • 3.2 continues the 3.1 arc without closing it: the questions about who's manipulating the Bangboos and the Karma Core remain open.
  • Three official broadcasts are available to watch the program: YouTube (@ZZZ_Official), Twitch (zenlesszonezero), and TikTok (@zenlesszonezero).
  • 3.1 events are still running, including "Ding-Dong! Delivery Training in Progress", which stretches until September 14 — perfect for farming before the switch.
