NTE (Neverness to Everness): the checklist before version 1.2 ends on August 19

Version 1.2 "999 Nights" of NTE: Neverness to Everness comes to an end on August 19, 2026 at 05:59 (UTC+8), that is, August 18 at 11:59 PM Paris time. That leaves twelve full days to clear the ongoing events, Iroi's limited board, and the accompanying Arc program.

In the meantime, Hotta Studio is airing the special preview program for version 1.3, titled "Rising from the Moonlit Fog", on August 8, 2026 at 19:30 (UTC+8), that is, 1:30 PM Paris time, on the game's official YouTube and Twitch channels. The two S-class characters of this 1.3, Zankou and Linko, have already been revealed through official drip marketing. Their kits, banner dates, and the maintenance date, however, are still not public as of August 6.

The five key deadlines, in order

First thing to note: they don't all fall in the same time zone. The official notes use UTC+8 for everything related to the version and to limited boards, and server time for yield events, the ones that double a gain. The latter are based on your European server's daily reset, not on Shanghai's clock.

The real trap is the third row: version 1.2's pass closes six hours before the rest of the content. Anyone planning to wrap everything up on the final evening of August 18 will find their last milestones already out of reach.

What disappears for good on August 19

• The limited banner "The Thread of Life", featuring Iroi, an exclusive S-class character, alongside A-class characters Haniel, Aurelia, and Skia.
• The "Special Program 'Door of Dreams'", the only source of the limited S-class Arc "The Wrong Door", played with Tri-keys or Door of Dreams Keys.
• The login event "Gifts from the Circle": seven cumulative login days for Solid Dice ×10. Count your days, there's just enough left.
• The limited-time event "999 Nights", "Shadow Hide-and-Seek" and its Shadow Shop, as well as "Once, Twice… Sold!", the phase 2 auction minigame.
• The mystery box "Neon Rift" and its fifteen boxes, which notably contain the limited-edition vehicle "Draco" and Esper Zero's "Days of Glory" outfit.
• "Fishing Frenzy", at the Fisherman Sailor of Nacupeda Park, and the "Eibon Partner Program", which rewards the return of former Specialists.
• The outfit discounts: "Dream Weaver" at 2,680 Rift Crystals instead of 3,280 and "Summer Dream" at 1,680 instead of 2,480 for Iroi, "Dragon Huntress" and "Dawn Patrol" for Shinku. The outfits remain in the shop after August 19, but at full price.

A nuance that many recaps gloss over: the official notes date the end of the "999 Nights" event, not that of the minigame of the same name, announced without a deadline. Empty its Button Shop anyway before the switch.

The currencies and pages you must not forget

Event currencies never survive their event. Two stockpiles need to be liquidated: the Cup Phones from "Shadow Hide-and-Seek", to be exchanged at the Shadow Shop, and the Mystery Buttons from the "999 Nights" minigame, to be converted at the Button Shop.

Then comes the most costly oversight, one the publisher had already flagged for phase 1: the Traveler's Perks page, tied to the "The Thread of Life" banner. The phase 2 cosmetics — the "Sheepcopter" glider paint, the "Better Together" paint for the B100 vehicle, and Iroi's "Archmage" outfit — are claimed there at milestones of 50, 120, and 200 cumulative pulls. Pulling without going to claim your milestones before closing means flatly losing the cosmetics.

The plan for the last twelve days

Until August 10: "Pixel Surge"

Since August 3, Character Pixels spent in "Houdinii's Magic Show", "Houdinii's Tricks", "Bubble Can Factory", and "Rabbit Hole" earn double. The doubling is capped at 120 Pixels per day, but the unused quota carries over, up to a limit of 840 Pixels for the entire duration of the event.

This is the most profitable window of the twelve days remaining, and the shortest. If you haven't spent anything since August 3, your carryover is already close to the cap: it needs to be burned this week, not on the evening of the 9th, because 840 Pixels can't be spent in a single session.

From August 10 to 17: "Fons Rush"

The handoff is perfectly timed: "Pixel Surge" closes on August 10 at 04:59 server time, "Fons Rush" opens at 05:00. During this week, Hethereau's Hobbies double your Fons earnings, up to a cap of 700 Urban Stamina spent.

Two clarifications from the official notes, and they matter. Fons obtained via Races > Challenge are not doubled: no point putting your play time into that. And the cap applies to Urban Stamina consumed, not to Fons earned. Practical takeaway: don't burn through your Urban Stamina before August 10, let it build up, and spend it afterward.

Running until the 19th: fishing and cards to flip

"Fishing Frenzy" runs at the Fisherman's Wharf and hands out Annuliths, Floe Cinema Tickets, Elite Hunter's Guides, and Chaos Dye. "Warren's Lucky Flip" is trickier: card flips are earned via daily quests, so every skipped day is permanently lost, and the Rover A1's "Matcha Spirit" paint job becomes out of reach if you start too late.

Iroi now, or Zankou in two weeks?

What's official: Zankou is an S-class Incantation character, tied to the Scarlet Letter, the faction opposing the player in the campaign. Linko is an S-class Anima character, attached to Anomaly Control Bureau's DTE-6. Both have been showcased through official drip marketing, and the version 1.3 special program is dated August 8 at 7:30 PM (UTC+8).

What isn't: banner dates, full kits, signature Arcs, reruns, and even the 1.3 maintenance date. The dates of August 19 for Zankou and September 9 for Linko are circulating everywhere, but they're inferred from the observed three-week-per-phase pace, not from an announcement. The only certainty about the schedule comes indirectly: since 1.2 ends on August 19 at 5:59 AM (UTC+8), the 1.3 maintenance logically falls on that day. The maintenance announcement, which gives the precise time and compensation, is usually published the day before.

The practical upshot is a comfortable one: the calendar works in your favor. The August 8 special program falls ten days before the "Thread of Life" banner closes. So you'll see Zankou's and Linko's kits before having to decide on Iroi. If you're on the fence, don't spend any Annulith or Tri-keys until then — but don't push it past that either, the window from August 8 to 18 is already tight to secure a pull.

Gifts tied to the end of version 1.2

Two perks are explicitly conditioned on the end of 1.2. The Special Summer Gift Pack grants a Standard S-class Character Selector Box (Sakiri, Baicang, Hathor, Fadia, Jonquille, or Jiuyuan) to any character created before the version ends. The Thank-You Gift of 1,600 Annulith goes to Specialists who created a character and unlocked the Mail feature before that same deadline. The window to bring in a friend with a free S-class character therefore closes on the evening of August 18 our time.

What the French client translates — and what it leaves in English

NTE is fully localized in French, including voice-over, and the update notes are published in French by Perfect World Games. But localization doesn't cover everything, and that's exactly where English-language guides trip up French-speaking players.

Translated, to be used as is: « Le fil de vie » (The Lifeline), « La mauvaise porte » (The Wrong Gate), « Porte des rêves » (Dreamgate), « Cache-cache des ombres » (Shadow-n-Seek), « Déferlement de pixels » (Pixel Surge), « Ruée vers les Fons » (Fons Rush), « Prime du Cercle » (Circle Bounty) or even « Cristal de la faille » (Riftcrystal).

Translated but unrecognizable: the player, called Appraiser in English, is the Spécialiste in French. The ETD units of the Anomaly Control Bureau become DTE: Linko therefore belongs to DTE-6. Daffodil is called Jonquille, and Mint is Menthe in the official notes and in-game — whereas the character sheet on the official French-language website keeps « Mint ». Consistency isn't perfect across platforms.

Left in English: character names (Iroi, Shinku, Zankou, Linko) and especially the Esper types. Anima, Cosmos, Incantation, Chaos and Lakshana are not translated in the French interfaces, only « Psyché » gets its accent, and the roles displayed on the sheets (Main DPS, Buff, Healing, Shield…) also remain in English. A telling detail: as of August 6th, the announcement of the special 1.3 program only exists in English, on the game's official X account, and has not been relayed on the French-language news section.

Where to start if you only have a few hours

In order of decreasing profitability: spend your Character Pixels before August 10th, as it's the only resource whose bonus expires this week; finish the Circle Bounty keeping in mind that it closes on August 18th at 5:59 PM our time, not midnight; claim your Traveler's Perks tiers if you've already pulled on "The Thread of Life"; and finally, use up your Cup-and-String Phones and your Mystery Buttons. Everything else should be planned around two dates: August 8th to find out what Zankou and Linko are worth, and August 10th to kick off the Fons doubling week. A player who holds onto their Urban Endurance until the 10th and their pull currency until the 8th will finish version 1.2 with a clear advantage over one who spends everything this week.
