NTE 1.3: Twilight Moor opens today — the six anomaly commissions, the Lake of Tears, and the "Antrebrume Game" episode
In brief
NTE 1.3 "Emerging from the Moonlit Mist" has been live since August 19 with the Twilight Moor, a major new zone featuring the boat-navigable Lake of Tears, six brand-new anomaly commissions, and the main story episode "Antrebrume's Game". Hotta Studio has also polished exploration comfort with an in-motion photo mode, aim assist, and several other adjustments.
Maintenance is over. NTE: Neverness to Everness came back online this Wednesday, August 19th after a five-hour window — from 6 AM to 11 AM UTC+8, i.e. midnight to 5 AM Paris time — and the game is now running on version 1.3. Its official French name is "Émergeant de la brume lunaire": English-language outlets are calling it Rising from the Moonlight Fog, but that first phrasing is indeed the one Hotta Studio published in its French patch notes.
Two compensations of 300 Annuliths each — one for the maintenance, one for the bug fixes — are being distributed via in-game mail to all Specialists who created their character before August 19th at 6 AM (UTC+8). The 56,000 Praisegleam from the "Bagel Goods" are, meanwhile, being awarded to accounts that reached hunter level 11. Remember to clear out your mailbox: these items expire.
The heaviest piece of content in this version is neither a banner nor a story arc. It's a location.
Twilight Moor, and its navigable lake
Hotta describes the new zone in one sentence: "beautiful natural landscapes, the Starrain Bay complex, as well as the open waters of the Lake of Tears." Three components, then: open outdoor terrain, a built complex, and a large navigable body of water.
That last point isn't decorative. Version 1.3 simultaneously introduces the limited "Tide" watercraft, and the patch notes specify that it "can be summoned in the ocean and lakes." It's hard to ignore the connection between the two announcements: the Lake of Tears seems designed to be crossed by boat rather than walked around. Hotta doesn't state this explicitly anywhere, but no other inland body of water is highlighted in these notes.

The zone's six anomaly commissions
A zone without repeatable content doesn't hold anyone's attention. Twilight Moor arrives with six new anomaly commissions, listed as-is in the French patch notes:
- Twin Blooms
- Lantern Parade
- Storybook Skirmish
- Finale: Da Capo
- Fawn at the Helm
- Sunken Gate
Hotta hasn't published the rewards or recommended levels for these six commissions: the notes simply name them. So be wary of loot lists already circulating out there — as of August 19th, no official source documents them, and you'll need to open them in-game to find out what they give.
Four new tracks for "Races - Challenge"
Driving remains the second pillar of NTE, and it's well served here. Four brand-new routes join the "Races - Challenge" mode: Night Raptor, Nova Chapter, First Sense, and Silver Crown. The "Races - Online" mode also gets "several new tracks," though their exact number isn't specified.
On top of that, there's a new purchasable vehicle at the TerraX dealership, the Sirocco, priced at 4,000,000 Fons. It's permanently available, which means there's no need to rush: no countdown is attached to it.
"Antrebrume Game": the main episode, and its prerequisite
The new main story episode is called "Antrebrume Game". The official pitch fits in three lines: the Scarlet Letter is plotting a game, everyone who wasn't invited forms an alliance, and their goal is to "save, judge... avenge." The studio poses the question meant to hook players: will they manage to bring down Madame T once and for all?
The prerequisite is firm: you must have completed the "Facing a Dragon" episode. If you've left the main storyline hanging since 1.2, that's the task to tackle first — nothing that follows unlocks without it.
A second narrative piece accompanies the episode: "It's Time to Come Home", a new Invitation mode centered on Zankou. Two conditions this time: obtaining the character, and reaching the required bond level. So this isn't content accessible to players who don't pull for him.
What changes for exploration, outside the zone
Several adjustments tucked at the end of the patch notes directly affect exploration comfort, and are worth knowing before heading out:
- Photo mode now works while driving and while swimming.
- An F7 shortcut hides the entire interface with a single key press, PC only for now.
- An aim assist option now appears in Settings › Controls.
- "City Deliveries" now supports auto-drive, and new locations are added to the order lists of both "Swift Cab" and "City Deliveries."
- A minimap has been added to "Pink Paws Heist."
- The "Shadow Sweep" tracker now works in multiplayer.
Automatic outfit rotation also makes its debut: once enabled, it equips your character with a random outfit from their wardrobe every time they log in or change scenes. Minor, but it's exactly the kind of option you go looking for three weeks later and can never find.
The schedule to remember, converted to Paris time
Hotta publishes everything in UTC+8. Here are the deadlines that matter, converted to French time — six hours earlier:
| Deadline | Official time (UTC+8) | Paris time |
|---|---|---|
| "Luminous Tides" mystery box | August 19, 5 PM | August 19, 11 AM |
| End of Zankou and Nanally banners | September 9, 5:59 AM | September 8, 11:59 PM |
| "Burning Lavender" outfit in shop | August 27, 6:30 AM | August 27, 12:30 AM |
| End of most 1.3 events | September 30, 5:59 AM | September 29, 11:59 PM |
One special case deserves to be singled out: the version 1.3 "Circle Bounty" guide runs until September 30th at 11:59 PM (UTC+8), i.e. September 30th at 5:59 PM Paris time. Unlike the version's other events, it doesn't close at 5:59 AM but eighteen hours later. That's precisely what makes it tricky: it gives the impression of being aligned with everything else while actually leaving you a full extra day.
Where to start today
In order: collect both batches of 300 Annuliths and the 56,000 Praisegleam from your mail, finish "Facing a Dragon" if you haven't already, then start "Antrebrume Game." Twilight Moor and its six commissions aren't going anywhere; the banners, on the other hand, close on September 8th at 11:59 PM our time.
And if you want to judge the zone before anything else, take the Lake of Tears first: it's the one piece of 1.3 that exists nowhere else in the game.
