In brief

Chapter 7 Season 3 (until August 19, 2026) revolves around Sprites and Runners. With the 800 V-Bucks Rivals Pass and over a hundred rewards to unlock, you have ten weeks to finish everything without grinding too hard: weekly quests, Sprite Safari, mythic bosses, and strategic farming are enough to reach level 100.

Launched on June 6, 2026 and running until August 19, Chapter 7 Season 3 of Fortnite is built around the Runners theme and puts Sprites back at the center of the game. The 2026 battle pass, marketed under the name Rivals, offers more than a hundred rewards spread across eight character sets, including a cel-shaded John Wick, the return of Dr. Slone and a fully customizable Guardian. You have barely more than ten weeks to unlock everything: here's how to optimize every match to finish the Pass without grinding too hard.

The Rivals Battle Pass at a glance

The Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks, a price aligned since Epic's revision on March 19, 2026. As usual, completing the reward track gives you back up to 800 V-Bucks, which is exactly enough to pay for the next season. An additional +25 levels pack is sold for 1,800 V-Bucks for those who want to save time.

As for content, the main track contains eight headline skins, a glider, several pickaxes, animated emblems and back bling. Players who bought the Pass between June 6 and June 13, 2026 received the Dylan launch-week outfit as a bonus.

Weekly and daily quests: the backbone of your XP

Epic releases new weekly quests every Thursday at 3 PM (Paris time). Each quest earns 12,000 seasonal XP, and completing all four quests in a given batch unlocks an additional 25,000 XP bonus. That's more than 70,000 XP to pick up each week from this track alone.

Three principles to keep up the pace:

  • Stack your objectives. Many quests can be completed in the same match: eliminations with a given weapon, distance traveled, damage dealt. Read the Thursday batch in the morning, then work through it all in one go.
  • Never die without extracting first. Extraction is the only moment when your quest progress is safely locked in. Prefer a clean extraction over one last heroic elimination.
  • Alternate between BR and Zero Build. Quests progress in both modes, but Zero Build reduces dead time at the start of a match.
Quests are the building blocks that feed the Pass machine. Your goal is efficient loops, not spectacular feats. Three clean matches at 40,000 XP will always beat a single legendary match at 25,000 XP.

Sprite Safari: the season's core XP mechanic

The season's big addition is the return of Sprites: ten creatures with passive abilities, extracted through specific runs. Each successful extraction earns Sprite Dust (useful for summoning creatures via Sprite Stations) and seasonal XP.

The dedicated quest line, Sprite Safari, offers five objectives worth 10,000 XP each, plus a final bonus of 50,000 XP. Epic adds new extraction quests every Saturday at 3 PM, until the end of the season. These are the most profitable in terms of XP per minute once you know the extraction points.

Prioritize Gold Sprites: rarer but more rewarding on extraction. Systematically explore Calarmi Canyon and Frosted Flats, two areas where Sprite chest density remains highest in the current patch.

Hunters and mythic bosses: Voidblade, Skeletor, Wolfe

Unlike previous seasons, the three Season 3 bosses are not fixed: Voidblade, Skeletor and Wolfe share a pool of spawn points located around Calarmi Canyon and Frosted Flats. Spot their icon on the minimap right after landing.

  • Voidblade: drops a burst assault rifle in legendary or mythic rarity, plus a backup Chug Jug. It's the most mobile, but also the most fragile at good range.
  • Skeletor: drops its Extendable Focus shotgun in legendary or mythic rarity, plus a Chug Jug. Extremely dangerous indoors: engage it in open terrain.
  • Wolfe: the toughest of the three, with very good secondary loot. Plan for at least two shields before the fight.

Every boss defeated triggers Bounty quests spread throughout the season, which complement the weekly quests with an average of 12,000 XP per contract.

In the same mapping vein, Padlock missions require you to force open locked chests scattered across the map. Two methods: the access key, dropped by certain supply crates, or forced entry, slower but possible without a consumable. Every forced padlock counts toward the Lost and Found track. Heatwave Harbor and the hamlets around Frosted Flats have the highest number of spawns: combine these objectives with your Sprite rounds to make a single trip count toward two different progressions.

The golden rule of XP farming in 2026: every landing should serve to complete at least two objectives, never just one. That's the difference between a player at level 100 in August and a player stuck at level 60.

Secondary playlists: Reload, OG and Creative

Once your daily quests are done, secondary modes take over:

  • Reload: short matches, active respawn, generous XP per elimination. Ideal for finishing counter-based quests (eliminations, damage, headshots) in under 15 minutes per run.
  • OG: the classic maps remain excellent XP grounds for quests that don't depend on Season 3 specifics.
  • Creative and LEGO Fortnite: community XP maps (Marble Tycoon, Brick Life, LEGO Odyssey) remain very profitable, but Epic maintains a weekly cap of around 4.8 million XP beyond which the rate drops to zero. Diversify rather than AFK on a single map.
  • Festival Royale and Jam Stage: less well-known, but let you rack up XP by playing music when you're not in the mood to shoot.

Flagship skins and rewards of the Pass

The Pass's big star is the John Wick crossover, rendered in an Ink & Pen cel-shading style rather than the photorealistic look of previous collaborations. Other major pieces:

  • Dr. Slone Vanguard: the return of an iconic character, with a reinforced military style.
  • The Guardian: the season's fully customizable skin, with several cosmetic modules to unlock as you progress through the track.
  • Mecha-Sprite: evolving, it changes form as you unlock the dedicated tiers.
  • Dylan: the first week's bonus, already locked out for players who didn't buy the Pass before June 13.

In addition, the brand released the DC Summer pack (Hot Bat Summer) in early July: summer-themed Batman, Harley Quinn and other skins, sold in the shop outside the Pass but a perfect complement if you're going for the cosmetic angle.

A sample battle plan for one week

Here's a routine that keeps you on pace with the Pass without spending more than an hour a day on it:

  1. Thursday evening: fully complete the new weekly quest batch (about 45 minutes, aim for the 25,000 XP bonus).
  2. Friday: boss rush plus one or two Bounty quests.
  3. Saturday: Sprite Safari (new daily quests) plus two Reload cleanup runs.
  4. Sunday: Padlocks and Lost and Found in the same session as your regular BR matches.
  5. Monday-Wednesday: daily quests only, plus a Creative map if you're behind.

This pace gives, on average, between 250,000 and 350,000 XP per week without forcing it, which is more than enough to complete the 100 levels before the season ends on August 19.

Going further

Three resources to deepen your farming and follow the Rivals patches day by day:

  • fortnite.gg: real-time tracking of the shop, mythics and boss spawn points.
  • fnbr.co: a comprehensive cosmetics database, very useful for checking what you're missing from a set.
  • Breakflip Fortnite and Gamosaur: French-language guides updated weekly on quests and meta changes.
  • news.fortnite.com: Epic's official blog for announcements of limited-time events like DC Summer.

Season 3 rewards regular players more than big weekend marathons: thirty minutes of well-chained quests every evening is enough to unlock the entire Rivals Pass, including the cel-shaded John Wick, before Season 4 launches in August 2026.

Do you farm XP mostly on classic BR or do you prefer secondary modes like Reload?

Frequently asked questions

How long does it really take to finish the Rivals Pass without a level-up bundle?
About an hour a day following the suggested routine: weekly quests on Thursday, Sprite Safari on Saturday, bosses and vaults the rest of the week. You'll bank between 250,000 and 350,000 weekly XP, which gets you to level 100 well before August 19 without any stress.
What's the best spot to farm Sprites?
Calarmi Canyon and Frosted Flats have the highest density of Sprite chests in the current patch. Prioritize Gold Sprites: they're rarer but pay off much more in seasonal XP once extracted.
Can I finish the Pass by only playing Creative or OG?
No, not efficiently. Epic caps Creative XP at around 4.8 million per week, after which the rate collapses. Classic BR, weekly quests, and Sprite Safari are the backbone. Creative can help you catch up on a quiet Sunday if you're behind, but it's a supplement, not a main plan.
Do you really need to buy the +25 level bundle for 1,800 V-Bucks?
No. You'll complete the Pass in 10 weeks without the bundle if you stick to the routine. It's purely a convenience for those who only have an hour a week or who start late in the season.
What happens if I miss weekly quests?
You lose up to 70,000 XP per week, which creates a cumulative deficit. After four missed weeks, you'll be stuck well below level 100. Quests are your absolute top priority: they're predictable and refresh every Thursday.

Key takeaways

  • Weekly quests reward 70,000+ XP per week: stack up objectives and always aim for the 25,000 XP bonus from completing the full set.
  • Sprite Safari is the core mechanic: prioritize Gold Sprites and systematically explore Calarmi Canyon and Frosted Flats to maximize XP per minute.
  • Every landing should clear at least two different objectives (bosses, quests, vaults) — that's the golden rule separating level 100 from level 60.
  • 250,000 to 350,000 XP per week without overexerting yourself is enough to complete the Pass in just over an hour a day.
  • Cel-shaded John Wick, Dr. Slone, and the modular The Guardian are the standout skins; the Pass refunds 800 V-Bucks, enough to fund the next season.
