In brief

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 only has two bosses: Dr. Eggman at Green Hill Zone and Hush between The Battlewoods and Reality's Reign. Their positions don't show up on the main map, but their locations are predictable and their difficulty remains low.

Two bosses are roaming Fortnite island at the start of Chapter 7 Season 4: Dr. Eggman and Hush. That's admittedly slim pickings compared to what we're used to seeing at the start of a season, so if you're after a weekly quest that requires taking down a boss, you don't have many options. Good news: both are up for grabs right from the moment you exit the bus, no need to wait for a later stage of the match.

The real issue is that neither one shows up on the main map. Their position only appears once you're already in their zone, and playing blind will waste your time. Here's where to head!

Dr. Eggman at Green Hill Zone

Dr. Eggman sticks almost exclusively to Green Hill Zone, the Sonic-themed area of the map. Unlike most bosses who trudge around on foot, he rides around in the Egg Mobile, which makes him noticeably faster to spot... and to lose track of.

He doesn't stay put in one fixed spot: he patrols across the entire point of interest. Keep an eye on the minimap in the top right corner, the skull icon shows his exact position in real time. It's the only reliable way to track him given his mobility.

He can occasionally show up elsewhere on the island, but only during the random Boss Drop event, which teleports a boss to an unusual location and reveals it to everyone at the same time. Outside of that, it's Green Hill Zone or nothing.

Hush between Battlewoods and Reality's Reign

Hush, on the other hand, alternates between two spots: The Battlewoods and Reality's Reign. The game randomly picks which of the two she occupies each match, so you need to check both zones to locate her - there's no way to know in advance where she'll spawn.

Like Dr. Eggman, she can also turn up elsewhere via the Boss Drop, but that's the exception, not the rule.

The loot that makes the detour worth it

  • Dr. Eggman: Midas' Masterpiece or a Mythic 8-Bit Shotgun, the Mythic Sonic Power Sneakers, sometimes a 1-Up Token Power Up, a Chug Jug, ammo, and gold bars.
  • Hush: a Mythic Enhanced Assault Rifle, the Tetris Rift, sometimes also a 1-Up Token Power Up, ammo, and gold bars.

Two fairly different loot pools, so which boss you decide to hunt down might depend on what you're looking to grab rather than simple proximity.

How to beat them without a hassle

Honestly, the difficulty is low. Both bosses have terrible aim, which makes them clearly easier to take down than the average named enemies you usually run into at the start of a season. It's still a fight though, so don't rush in empty-handed either.

  • Show up with at least one or two decent weapons before engaging.
  • Keep moving and dodge their shots even though their accuracy is low - an unlucky hit can happen fast.
  • For Dr. Eggman, anticipate his movements in the Egg Mobile instead of chasing him in a straight line.

Once either one is eliminated, the weekly boss-related quest is complete. Given the small number of enemies currently available on the island, chances are more will be added as the season goes on - for now, it's Eggman or Hush, no other option.
