EA Sports FC 26: FUTTIES Team 4 drops on August 14 — the final batch of Icons and Heroes of the year
In brief
Team 4 FUTTIES lands on Friday, August 14 at 7 p.m. (Paris time), and it's the last batch of Icons and Heroes of the year. After August 21, these items won't return until FC 27. With three weeks left before the end, your coins will be worth nothing in September: you need to spend them wisely now.
The FUTTIES promo is drawing to a close. Team 4 is expected this Friday, August 14, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. UTC, that's 7:00 p.m. in Paris, and those following the content calendar all agree on one point: this will be the last one.
We've already covered the closure of FUTTIES on August 21 and what to do with your coins before FC 27. This guide focuses on the intermediate window, the one opening Friday night, which will determine the value of your club for the rest of the summer.
Why Team 4 matters more than the previous ones
A FUTTIES promo works in waves. Each team adds players to the reward pool, and that pool then feeds everything that can be pulled: packs, SBCs, Player Picks and Objectives. As long as teams keep being added, the pool keeps growing — and every new card slightly dilutes the odds of getting the one you're after.
Team 4 reverses that logic. Once it's live, the pool no longer changes. So it's from Friday night onward that the probability calculations become stable, making spending rational rather than speculative.
Second reason: it's the last chance of the year to pull FUTTIES Icons and Heroes. After August 21, these items won't return until FC 27.
The rule not to forget: what your coins will be worth in September
Here's the reasoning too many players work out too late. A coin kept until FC 27 launches is worth nothing: coins don't carry over from one edition to the next. Neither does a club full of 90-rated cards.
So there are only two rational uses for a coin balance at this point in the year:
- Immediate gameplay enjoyment. Building the team you wanted and playing with it for the six weeks that remain.
- Objectives with lasting value: achievements, club records, or simply completing a collection.
Everything else — the idea of "saving for later", of speculating on a market dip — no longer makes sense three weeks before the promo ends. The end-of-edition Transfer Market doesn't bounce back; it collapses as players stop playing.
Where to put your coins, in order
A plan that takes the real calendar into account:
- Short-deadline SBCs first. These are the ones that expire without warning. A completed SBC pays off, an SBC still in progress when the servers close pays off nothing and ties up cards.
- Then Player Picks, which remain the best ratio between cost and expected return at the end of a promo, precisely because the pool is fixed.
- Then free Evolutions that are still open. They cost no coins and improve items you already own. This is the only category where you can't lose.
- Packs last, and only with what's left. A pack is a lottery; an SBC is a trade with a known outcome.
The Chemistry trap at the end of the edition
A technical detail that gets costly at this time of year. At the end of a promo, the prices of link cards — the ones you buy purely to boost Chemistry — become highly volatile, because everyone is building end-of-edition squads at the same time.
The useful habit is to build the backbone before buying the star players. If you buy an Icon first and then realize it doesn't link to anything, you'll pay twice: once for the card, once for the links, at the worst possible moment for the market.
On the names circulating
Several community reports mention possible headline names for this Team 4. We won't treat these as certainties: until EA has published its lineup, these are leaks, and FUTTIES lineups have already been debunked in the past.
What is solid, however, is the structure: a FUTTIES promo always ends with its most generous batch in terms of Icons and Heroes, because that's the argument that gets wallets open at the last moment. Wait for Friday at 7 p.m. for the list, but get your coins ready now.
The schedule for the next three weeks
- Friday, August 14, 7 p.m. (Paris time) — release of FUTTIES Team 4.
- Until August 21 — the final stretch: SBCs, Objectives and Player Picks tied to the promo.
- August 21 — FUTTIES closes.
In other words, you have exactly one week between the release of Team 4 and the closing. That's short, and it means you shouldn't wait until the weekend of the 20th to decide: the best end-of-promo SBCs are the ones that open on day one.
A note on terminology
We keep FUTTIES in English, as EA itself does in its own French client. On the other hand, the mechanics do have an official French label, and we use it: DCE for squad-building challenges, Choix de joueur, Évolutions, Objectifs, Marché des transferts, Chimie, Icônes and Héros. Watch out in particular for two terms that are often mistranslated: the mode is called Clashs d'équipes, not "Squad Battles", and the attribute is Mauvais pied, not "pied faible".

Key takeaways
- Team 4 locks in the reward pool for good, which finally makes it rational to spend your coins instead of speculating.
- Coins don't carry over to FC 27: saving them for later makes absolutely no sense.
- Prioritize short-deadline SBCs, then Player Picks, before any risky packs.
- Build your team's backbone before buying the stars, or you'll end up paying double for chemistry links.
- You only have one week between release and the shutdown: don't wait around, the best SBCs open on day one.
