The Blood of Dawnwalker finally aims for 60 fps on consoles
In brief
Rebel Wolves does a U-turn and finally promises a Performance mode targeting 60 fps on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X via the September 3 launch patch. The studio walks back its initial August 22 communication, which only announced 30 and 40 fps modes, after listening to player feedback.
Rebel Wolves changed its mind in three days. The studio confirms a Performance mode targeting 60 fps on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X, delivered via the launch patch on September 3.
We had written the opposite on August 22, after the studio's "Console Footage" video: two modes, 30 and 40 fps, no 60. Rebel Wolves is correcting its own communication, and our article along with it.
Three modes on the big machines, only one on Series S
The game's official account details the breakdown. On PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X: Performance (targeting 60 fps), Balanced (targeting 40 fps) and Quality (targeting 30 fps). Rebel Wolves has not published any French label for these modes, which remain in English. The PS5 Pro also adds general visual improvements, not detailed.
The Xbox Series S, meanwhile, stays at 30 fps. No Performance, no Balanced: only one target announced. That's the line that disappears from most of the enthusiastic coverage.

A promise, not yet a measurement
The studio explains, in English: the Performance mode "was already in the works, but it was still being tested," and the team was "simply not ready to promise it." It says it "heard your feedback" and wrapped up a round of additional tests, the results of which convinced it.
Still, aiming for 60 fps isn't the same as holding it. Rebel Wolves has not communicated any resolution or effects concessions for this mode, and has shown no footage of it. That a studio would revise its plans ten days before release, under pressure from players, is rare enough to be credited in its favor. The real stability will only be judged controller in hand, on September 3.
