In brief

Genshin Impact offers a free Stella Fortuna through the recurring event "Forging Character and Path," but the timing is tight: twelve weekly windows are available, you need eight of them. As of September 4, 2026, three are already closed and the fourth expires on September 7 — a newcomer has no room for error on the remaining eight weeks.

HoYoverse is handing out a free Stella Fortuna to anyone who stays the course in "Forging Steel", Genshin Impact's recurring loyalty event. The current cycle opened on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 04:00 and closes on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 03:59: exactly twelve weekly windows, of which eight are required.

As of Friday, September 4, 2026, three of these twelve windows are closed and the fourth closes on Monday, September 7 at 03:59. The arithmetic fits in one line: a player who hasn't completed anything since August 10 can no longer save the current week, and will then have eight windows for eight objectives left. No margin remains.

A word on the time, because the publisher says nothing about it. The in-game announcement writes "2026/08/10 04:00 ~ 2026/11/02 03:59" and "the following Monday at 04:00" without ever naming a time zone: the marker displays in your server's time. The Europe server runs on UTC+1 and Paris stays at UTC+2 until Sunday, October 25, 2026 — so the weekly switch falls at 5 a.m. for you, then at 4 a.m. once winter time kicks in. This is our conversion, not data from HoYoverse.

The twelve windows, and the one that just slipped away from you

Each window runs from Monday 04:00 to the following Monday 03:59, server time. The table below is our reconstruction based on the two published dates and the cadence rule cited by the announcement: the publisher does not release any calendar.

WindowOpeningClosingStatus as of Friday, September 4, 2026
1Monday, August 10Monday, August 17closed
2Monday, August 17Monday, August 24closed
3Monday, August 24Monday, August 31closed
4Monday, August 31Monday, September 7ongoing, 3 days remaining

10Monday, October 12Monday, October 19upcoming
11Monday, October 19Monday, October 26upcoming
12Monday, October 26Monday, November 2last

The eleventh window is the only anomaly of the batch: the switch to winter time on October 25 falls right in the middle of it. On the server side nothing changes, it's your clock that falls back.

Five days out of seven, and why the fourth week is already lost

The mechanism has two tiers. First tier, the day: "claim rewards from daily commissions 4 times and spend 120 Original Resin in a single day" — both conditions within the same server day, otherwise nothing is validated. Second tier, the week: "after reaching the daily training objectives 5 times, you can complete the week's training objective".

Five valid days out of seven, then. This is where the current window closes on latecomers: starting from Friday, September 4, only three server days remain — September 4, 5, and 6 — when five are needed. A player starting from zero will not be able to catch up this week.

What remains, then, is the period from September 7 to November 2: eight windows, eight objectives, no tolerance. Here is the corresponding bill, calculated solely from the figures in the announcement.

What the event requiresPer unitTotal over 8 weeks
Validated days5 per window40 days
Daily commission rewards4 per day160
Original Resin spent120 per day4,800

These totals are our own multiplication, not a count published by the publisher, and they assume the tightest possible scenario. Anyone who already has weekly objectives banked can skip as many weeks as they have in reserve.

Three locks at the entrance, two locks at the exit

At the entrance, the announcement sets three cumulative conditions: "Adventure Rank 14 or above," completing the "Ode to Favonius" of the Archon Quest Prologue - Act 1 to unlock the wish feature, and completing the world quest "Welcome to the Adventurers' Guild" to unlock the Adventurer's Handbook.

At the exit, two considerably harsher restrictions. The first, word for word: "It is impossible to redeem a Stella Fortuna for a character you have not obtained, or for whom you have already redeemed a Stella Fortuna in a previous 'Forging Character and Path' event."

Second lock, the one that costs the inattentive the most: "Stella Fortuna obtained but not redeemed can only be assigned to a character during the current cycle. Character selection cannot be carried over to the next cycle." Winning the reward is not enough; you must designate its recipient before November 2 at 03:59 — sometimes down to a matter of hours, for anyone completing their eighth objective in the twelfth window.

Good news on the catalogue side: "starting from this cycle," nine characters join the redemption list "on a permanent basis" — Lyney, Wriothesley, Navia, Sigewinne, Clorinde, Emilie, Chiori, Xianyun and Yumemizuki Mizuki. Note the accent: the French spelling is Émilie, the English one Emilie.

"Forging Through Training": the sentence the French version cuts off mid-way

The announcement mentions a bonus, "Forging Through Training," unlocked "for the following week" once the eight weekly objectives are completed. Then the French text stops abruptly: "you will obtain additional rewards when you reach this week's training objective." End of paragraph. The same announcement read in English goes all the way through and adds a piece of information missing from the French version: the bonus resets every week, so these additional rewards must be claimed in time.

A second, more subtle omission affects the opening paragraph: the French text promises "the corresponding rewards" where the English speaks of stage rewards. The notion of stages was lost in translation.

A consequence of the mechanic, and this is our own reading, not a statement from the publisher: reaching your eighth objective in the twelfth and final window unlocks "Forging Through Training" for a week that no longer exists. The bonus is out of reach for latecomers.

What HoYoverse does not publish

The reward block is an image, and this image carries no text: nine icons in a row, not a name, not a quantity. We won't identify them, for lack of an official label. Only the final reward is written in black and white, the Stella Fortuna, the item that unlocks a Constellation rank on the character of your choice.

Same silence on the Original Resin budget: the item's description in the French client merely states that it "can be used to activate Petrified Trees and Ley Line Blossoms." Nothing about regeneration, nothing about the cap. And the announcement also doesn't say whether crafting Condensed Resin counts as an expenditure: community documentation notes that crafting feeds the Battle Pass counter and that its use, on the other hand, does not, but that's a different counter and HoYoverse writes nothing of the sort here. When in doubt, spend your 120 points directly.

In practice

If you've already completed at least two days since Monday, August 31, finish out the week: three days are enough for you and you keep a margin for error. If you're starting from zero, the fourth window is lost — but remember Monday, September 7, because from that date on, every missed week costs you the Stella Fortuna.

The routine fits in one line: four daily commissions claimed and 120 Original Resin spent on the same server day, five days out of seven. Then, before November 2 at 3:59 AM, open the event page and designate the character — a separate step, and the only one that doesn't forgive being forgotten.

Free bonus unrelated to the event: on August 31, 2026, HoYoverse opened the "Daily Login" feature on HoYoLAB, announced as "Permanent" in duration, which offers "100 Primogems and 10,000 Mora" upon the first claim.

You launch Genshin on September 4 without validating a single day — do you have the courage to attempt all eight weeks without a break?

Frequently asked questions

I haven't validated anything by September 4 — can I still get the Stella Fortuna?
Technically yes, but with zero tolerance. You have three server days left in the current window and need five. The week is lost. Starting September 7, you'll have exactly eight windows for eight objectives, no flexibility.
What is a valid day and how do I count it?
A day is valid only if you meet two conditions within the same period: collect 4 daily mission rewards AND spend 120 Original Resin. If either is missing, nothing counts. You need five per window.
I complete my eighth objective on November 2 — can I claim the "Forged Through Practice" bonus?
No. The bonus resets each week and requires an additional week to claim its rewards. Reaching eight objectives in the final window unlocks a bonus out of reach, as the period closes that same day.
What if I don't need the Stella Fortuna this week — can I carry it over to the next cycle?
Impossible. The publisher states it clearly: "Stella Fortuna obtained but not exchanged can only be assigned to a character during the current cycle." After November 2 at 3:59 AM, they disappear. You must designate a character before that date.
What time zone does HoYoverse use for resets?
The publisher never specifies. Changes happen at server time, which is UTC+1 for Europe. In Paris, this means 5 AM until October 25, then 4 AM in winter time — but always convert to your own server to avoid mistakes.

Key takeaways

  • Eight valid windows required out of twelve: every missed week costs you the Stella Fortuna permanently.
  • The fourth window closes on September 7 without mercy — five server days are needed, only three remain.
  • Each day requires four daily missions AND 120 Original Resin spent within the same server window.
  • Designating your beneficiary before November 2 at 3:59 AM is mandatory — Stella Fortuna obtained but not exchanged are lost at closure.
  • Nine permanent characters are exchangeable (Lyney, Wriothesley, Navia, Sigewinne, Clorinde, Emilie, Chiori, Xianyun, Yumemizuki Mizuki).
