In brief

The Pioneers world quest is the first act of the Lunology chapter in Genshin Impact 6.7, taking you to the moon alongside Columbina to find Eggie. You'll need to solve a series of mechanical puzzles based on Archaeolune Energy, with no difficult combat prerequisites, by following a precise sequence of steps up to the top of the ruins.

The world quest Trailblazers is the first act of the Lunology chapter introduced in version 6.7. It takes you to the moon with Columbina to find Eggie through a series of Archaeolune Energy puzzles. No demanding combat requirements, but the mechanical puzzles come in quick succession: here's every step in order.

Accessing the quest

Open the events menu and select the When We Look Up at the Moon tab. Press "Go" to be teleported to the Misty Shoal waypoint. Take the Moonlanes to Columbina, and let the cutscene play out, the Trailblazers quest will trigger automatically.

Activating the energy mechanisms

After a few exchanges, you need to start up the generator room. The core mechanic here is Archaeolune Energy: you absorb energy from a source, then release it onto a target.

  • Absorb energy from one of the available sources and inject it into the generator.
  • The flow is blocked by an energy cube: absorb again, aim at the cube and activate it to expel it.
  • Climb onto the upper walkway and lower it to restore the circuit.

Choosing which moon to visit

Once the generators are active, the terminal offers you three destinations: Eternal Moon, Iridescent Moon and Frost Moon. The first two display a coordinate error - only Frost Moon is accessible. This then displays three strange symbols. Memorize them (or take a screenshot): you'll need them very soon to avoid a self-destruction.

Verifying the orbital coordinates

After the boss fight, the ship initiates a self-destruct protocol. Paimon asks you about the symbols to cancel it. Answer in this order:

  • Simplest-looking one → second option
  • Super Complicated one → third option
  • Same As The Second one → same answer as "Super Complicated one" (third option)

Note

Paimon gets it wrong halfway through, forcing you to repeat the sequence a second time, identically.

Finding a route to the surface and opening the door

On the ship, you need to choose a destination via the interactive globe. Rotate the globe until the Unigen's Circle option appears (the other destinations don't have usable coordinates), and select it. Things go wrong: you need to reach the emergency evacuation pods. Absorb the nearby Archaeolune Energy and release it onto the debris blocking the passage to clear a path to the surface.

Further along in your progress, you'll come across a locked door. Approach the nearby sphere: it generates energy balls that roll down below. Hit one of them to launch it onto the pedestal and unlock the door.

Searching for Eggie in the ruins

Puzzle 1

The mechanism requires three energy balls on a pedestal to open a door. Two are directly accessible, the third is on the lower floor.

  • Go down, locate the missing ball and push it into the Launcher.
  • Activate the Launcher to send it to the upper floor.
  • Place it on the open pedestal and activate the machine.

Puzzle 2

This second puzzle features a Statis Module: a machine that locks a ball and moves it in a loop. To free it, look up, absorb the energy directly from the Statis Module to turn it off. Enter the room and eliminate the enemies. Then take any of the available balls and place it on the pedestal to continue.

End of the quest

Follow the quest marker to the outside of the ruins. Use the successive launchers to gain altitude, level by level, up to the top. The Trailblazers quest concludes there, earning you the Blue Moon achievement along the way. The second act of the lunar chapter then follows immediately!
