In brief

Genshin Impact's version 6.7 arrives on July 1, 2026 with Sunlit Fontinalia, a generously rewarded event centered around a floating aquarium in Fontaine. On the agenda: Charlotte finally free with her Hurlock skin, over 12,800 Primogems to collect, the arrival of Sandrone the Cryo Harbinger, and the permanent opening of the lunar map.

Version 6.7 Luna VIII of Genshin Impact has been available since July 1, 2026 and will keep Travelers busy until August 11. Named Sunlit Summer Fontinalia, this update marks the final stage before Snezhnaya's arrival and offers a generous main event, a new playable Harbinger, a permanent lunar region, as well as a shower of free Primogems. Here's everything you need to know to miss nothing before the patch closes.

Sunlit Summer Fontinalia: the big summer rendezvous

The Fontinalia Film Festival makes its grand return to Fontaine aboard the Wingalet, Wriothesley's airship already encountered during Act 4 of Chapter IV. The vessel has been converted into a traveling aquarium, and you're tasked with managing its facilities while the caravan crosses Fontaine's waters. The atmosphere is summery and colorful, with a jazzy soundtrack and numerous interactions with the Fontaine cast: Charlotte, Wriothesley, Furina, Neuvillette, and Citlali are all involved, joined by the new recruit Sandrone.

The event combines a scripted quest, Should We Meet Again, which will remain permanently available after version 6.7, along with several time-limited minigames. The whole thing is punctuated by brand-new cutscenes revolving around the filming of a movie within the movie, with nods to the great detective Hurlock character who lends his name to Charlotte's new skin.

To join the Wingalet, you must meet the following conditions: reach Adventure Rank 20 and have completed the Archon Quest Prologue Act III - Song of the Dragon and Freedom. If your story progress is behind, a Quick Start option is available in the event menu to teleport you directly to the starting point, without going through all of Fontaine's intermediate quests. The introductory quest Summer, You're Back? Fontinalia! triggers automatically from the events menu as soon as version 6.7 is installed. Expect about forty minutes to complete it and unlock the three main minigames one after another. Each activity is independent, and you can switch between them depending on your Resin or available time.

The Wingalet's three minigames

The heart of the gameplay rests on three interconnected activities aboard the airship-aquarium:

  • Dive-and-Treasure Operation: dive into Fontaine's depths to capture marine creatures using a special net. Each catch fills the aquarium's tanks and attracts more visitors. Rare creatures like the Pelagic Trickster are especially worth the detour.
  • Register of Curiosities: manage the aquarium's gift shop. You'll need to match items to customer preferences, adjust prices, and unlock new product lines to maximize the venue's popularity.
  • Kaleido-Fishing: a rhythm-based twist on classic fishing, where you must chain combos by pressing the right button at the precise moment to catch multicolored fish. These trigger luminous animations in the aquarium and earn Venue Popularity.

Accumulated popularity is the central currency: it unlocks both Charlotte's skin and the Primogem tiers. Each minigame refreshes weekly with new challenges, so it's wise to return to them regularly rather than trying to rush through everything in one session.

Main rewards: Charlotte, her skin, and 1,060 Primogems

The event's grand prize breaks down into several parts:

  • 1,060 Primogems distributed across progression milestones and quests.
  • A free copy of the character Charlotte, a Cryo catalyst-wielding journalist, awarded via an "Invitation to the Truth" upon reaching the end of the main quest. Ideal for those who missed her original release on the Fontaine banner.
  • The Hurlock Variations skin for Charlotte, in a beige and mint palette very much in the private detective style. You need to reach 800 Location Popularity points before August 11 to claim it for free. After that date, it will return to the outfit shop at a price of 1,680 Genesis Crystals.
  • A Crown of Insight, a rare resource allowing you to push a character's talent to level 10.
  • Ascension materials, Hero's Wit, Mora, and interior/exterior furnishings for your Serenitea Pot.

The pacing is calibrated so that the milestones can be reached in about thirty minutes per week over the entire duration of the patch, without ever forcing players to grind through sessions.

Side events in version 6.7

Around the festival, the update offers several very profitable side activities in terms of Primogems:

  • Stygian Onslaught (July 7 - August 11): the game's toughest endgame mode, featuring a single boss to defeat as quickly as possible. Grants 450 Primogems and talent materials.
  • Final Long-Range Sightlines (July 17-27): a mini-game involving archery and slingshot shooting. 420 Primogems up for grabs.
  • Summer Disco Dance Dance (July 24 - August 3): a music rhythm game inspired by Fontaine's parties, offering another 420 Primogems.
  • Ley Line Overflow (August 3-10): double rewards in Mora and Hero's Wit from Elemental flowers. Best reserved for players sitting on a large stock of Original Resin.

By combining the character banners, the new Spiral Abyss, daily login rewards, codes, and the main event, the total possible amount of free Primogems for version 6.7 alone is estimated at more than 12,800, the equivalent of about 80 wishes.

Character banners: Sandrone arrives

The star of the update is Sandrone, the second playable Fatui Harbinger after Columbina. A Cryo character wielding a claymore, her combos revolve around a new elemental reaction, Lunar-Charged, a powerful variant of Superconduct that reduces both the target's physical and Cryo resistance. Her Phase 1 runs from July 1 to July 21, alongside a rerun of Citlali.

Phase 2 (July 21 - August 11) goes all out with the long-awaited return of Columbina alongside a rerun of Raiden Shogun. A new premium banner called Vow of the Lunar Course also features Yae Miko, Cyno, Wriothesley, Qiqi, and Mizuki on rotation at boosted rates: ideal for completing your collection of missed reruns.

Active July 2026 codes to redeem right away

HoYoverse released several codes during the version 6.7 livestream presentation. They can be redeemed from the official website (genshin.hoyoverse.com/gift) or from the in-game account settings, provided you are at least Adventure Rank 10:

  • LEGEDILJKSGM - 60 Primogems and 5 Adventurer's Experience
  • PFY1S40I88T9 - 60 Primogems and 5 Adventurer's Experience
  • EZSB8889C2BZ - 10,000 Mora, 10 Adventurer's Experience and various enhancement materials
  • GENSHINGIFT - 50 Primogems and 3 Hero's Wit (permanent code)

Codes from livestreams often expire within 24 to 48 hours: it's best to enter them as soon as they're announced. Rewards arrive in the in-game mailbox and stay there for 30 days.

The new Moon map: a permanent bonus not to be missed

Another highlight of the 6.7 update: the lunar map, glimpsed during the express journey with Columbina in Luna VII, is finally becoming permanently explorable. The setting blends phosphorescent craters, celestial ruins and almost psychedelic landscapes bathed in silvery light. On site, you'll find two brand-new domains for upgrading artifacts and talents, a new Lunar Statue of Seven to activate for Primogems, and several hidden chests guarded by new enemies vulnerable to the new Stellar Conduction.

Unlocking the region requires the quest A Companion Fated Under the Moonlight, available as soon as you reach Adventure Rank 30. Expect to spend around two hours opening the lunar teleport waypoint, after which you can return there at any time, even after the 6.7 patch ends.

Tips to maximize Primogems and materials

A few habits will help you get the most out of version 6.7:

  • Do the Fontinalia main quest first: it unlocks the three mini-games and the most rewarding popularity tiers.
  • Finish the new Spiral Abyss and the Stygian Onslaught before the end of July to stack up their Primogems before the reset.
  • Keep at least 10 guaranteed pulls for Columbina in phase 2 if you missed her first banner: she remains one of the most cost-effective Electro DPS in the current meta.
  • Take advantage of Ley Line Overflow to spend your resin stock on Mora and Hero's Wit, essential for leveling Sandrone or Charlotte up to level 90.
  • Log in once a day on HoYoLab for the daily check-in: that's 60 extra Primogems every month, it would be a shame to miss out.
  • Prioritize catching rare creatures during the Dive-and-Treasure Operation: every mythical fish earns 20 popularity points in a single catch, compared to 3 for a standard catch.

Version 6.7 feels like the last big hurrah before the arrival of Snezhnaya and its icy atmosphere, planned for 7.0. It's worth making the most of it to fully explore Fontaine, fill up your Primogem stash, and come armed to the teeth for the next major step of the journey. Between the retro charm of the Wingalet, the acid-tinged battles against the lunar Consuls, and the raw power of Sandrone, HoYoverse is offering a particularly packed summer patch that will keep Travelers busy until mid-August.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to do to access the Sunlit Fontinalia event?
You need to reach Adventure Rank 20 and have completed the Archon Quest Prologue Act III. If you're behind, a Quick Start option lets you jump straight into the heart of the Wingalet without redoing all of Fontaine's quests.
Do I really need Charlotte or is she just filler?
Charlotte is a solid Cryo catalyst user, though not broken either. Since she's free, she's worth grabbing at the very least as an easy pick to round out your roster, especially with the eye-catching Hurlock skin.
How many Primogems can I actually grind on this patch without turning into a no-life?
A minimum of 1,060 just from the main event in 30 minutes a week. Including the Stygian Onslaught, the limited-time mini-games, and the Abyss, you're looking at close to 12,800 Primogems: enough for about 80 pulls without breaking a sweat.
How does Sandrone compare to Columbina?
Sandrone wields a two-handed sword and the new Stellar Conduction, a pretty nasty Superconduct overload. Columbina remains the must-have for Fatui gameplay, but Sandrone promises solid and more accessible physical/Cryo DPS.
Do the codes really expire that fast?
Yes, livestream codes last 24-48 hours, so enter them as soon as they're announced. Permanent codes like GENSHINGIFT work anytime, of course.

Key takeaways

  • Charlotte becomes free directly during the main event, perfect for catching up if you missed her.
  • The three Wingalet mini-games (treasure diving, shop management, rhythm fishing) unlock progressively and refresh every week.
  • Sandrone in phase 1 followed by Columbina + Raiden in phase 2: July's banners promise some heavy hitters on the gacha side.
  • Charlotte's Variations of Hurlock skin requires 800 Popularity points before August 11, otherwise it's off to the shop for 1,680 crystals.
  • The moon becomes permanently explorable with two new domains and chests guarded by Stellar Conduction enemies.
