Galactic Siege Fortnite: How to capture control points

Fortnite has made numerous interesting game modes available to players as part of its collaboration with Star Wars, including the Galactic Siege mode, in which one of the fundamental objectives is to capture control points. Let's see how to do it!

What is a control point?

It's an area of the Galactic Siege map where you need to position yourself, a predefined point on the map: points A, B or C. Once you engage in this zone, you must defend it until it turns your team's colour, which will award you the control point.

Only the player who claims the point counts towards the mission; teamwork is important, but individual claiming is what matters most.

The importance of strategy

Strategy plays a fundamental role in capturing control points. It's not just about going to a point and waiting; you need to get ahead and anticipate the enemy team's movements. This means keeping an eye on combat zones to claim the least defended points. A visual indicator in the shape of a diamond displaying the point's name helps you track your progress. Always keep an eye on it so as not to waste your time.

Strategies for claiming points

From the very start of each match, rush to the nearest control point. Since each team starts on one side of the map or the other, there is always a point that's easier to reach. Being the first to arrive at a point gives you a solid advantage for claiming it!

As the match progresses, the enemy team is likely to abandon certain points. Spot these less contested points, and head towards them to claim them without too much resistance.

Rack up credits to unlock more powerful classes, as this can make claiming points much easier. Characters such as Rey or Emperor Palpatine are strong on defence and make capturing points easier.
