Crimson Desert Guide: How to Restart Boss Fights with Memory Fragments
In brief
Crimson Desert features a Memory Fragments system that lets you replay boss fights you've already faced. Accessible via the world map or the Player's Journal, this system offers two distinct modes: Memory to relive the original fight and Resonance to face a boss scaled to your current level.
In Crimson Desert, players eager to take on new challenges can relive boss fights thanks to the Memory Fragments system. Let's take a look at this (new) rather unusual system.
What are Memory Fragments?
Memory Fragments are found in the arenas where the fights originally took place. By interacting with these fragments, you'll be able to restart the fights.
The game map lets you find Memory Fragments directly: previous boss fights are marked on the map with a star. When you're at the site of the boss fight, raise your lantern to spot the fragment, then light it up to relive the fight.
Accessing the Boss Section
To find bosses, you can also check the Player Journal. In the boss section, you have a complete list of enemies, as well as their position on the world map.

Combat Options: Memory or Resonance?
When you interact with a Memory Fragment, you're given the option to choose between Memory or Resonance. Each option offers a different combat experience:
Memory
This option lets you relive the fight exactly as it was during the first encounter. The boss's stats remain the same, thus preserving the authenticity of the first encounter.
Resonance
The Resonance option adjusts the boss's stats to match your level. The boss becomes stronger, in terms of health and damage. This option is ideal for players looking for a real challenge!
Resource Recovery
An interesting aspect of the rematch system is that all resources consumed during the encounter are returned once the fight is over.
Note
However, there are no material rewards, as restarting a boss fight doesn't grant any reward. The rematch system is only meant to help you track your progress and hone your skills...
