Overview of the Bismuth Spear

The Bismuth Spear is an extremely interesting weapon, as it has the ability to inflict a petrification effect that will considerably slow down the enemy if you hit them. There are two versions of this weapon:

Bismuth Spear: Weapon to be found in the open world, with 50 durability and 3 Bismuth charges.
Cuckoo Bismuth Spear: Upgraded weapon with advantageous stats. Featuring 20 Bismuth attack charges, with increased attack speed and unlimited durability.

How to Get the Bismuth Spear

Method 1

To acquire the Bismuth Spear, head to the Well of Illumination, located on the map between Pailune and the Purple Desert. Go to the well itself, which is surrounded by ruins. The spear is on a weapon rack in the rubble next to the well. Simply approach it and pick it up.

Note

If you have caught the attention of the Bismuth Queen or the nearby small Bismuth crabs, the spear cannot be picked up until you have lost their aggro.

Method 2: Delegation Missions

After completing the "Desert Sage" quest in Chapter 9, it will be possible to send Delegation missions to the Well of Illumination. Every time you complete a mission, a Bismuth Spear will appear in your private storage.

How to Craft the Cuckoo Bismuth Spear?

This is an upgraded version that you can craft by following a specific crafting process. To unlock the recipe, you need to:

Complete the main quest "Hour of Judgment" in chapter 7
Go to the Restive Woods, west of Pailune
Light the brazier in front of a shivering woman to trigger a scene
Meet the Witch of Kindness

After lighting the brazier, head to Lake Crimson in the Silver Wolf Mountain, and enter the house of the Witch of Kindness. Talk to her to obtain the ability to purify all Sanctuaries in the region.

You can then go to the Sanctuary of Solitude, located east of Pailune, and you will need to purify it to learn the recipe for the Cuckoo Bismuth Spear.

Materials Needed for Crafting

Once you have the recipe, you need to go to the Kilnden Workshop in Hernand and talk to Grimnir to start crafting. Here are the required materials:

Cuckoo Spear x1
Bismuth Spear x1
Small Battery x10
Bismuth Ore x4
