Crimson Desert Bear Mount: How to Get It
In brief
In Crimson Desert, you can mount a bear by weakening it in combat before jumping on its back. The bear then becomes a formidable temporary mount in battle, capable of jumping and sprinting to dominate the battlefield. However, it is not currently possible to keep it as a permanent mount.
In Crimson Desert, it is possible to ride a bear. This article will guide you through this original task.
Where to find a bear in Crimson Desert
Bears are mainly found within the Hernand Forests, located to the south. These form a preferred habitat for them.
The Pailune Snowy Forests, to the north, also feature some, but encounters are less frequent than in Hernand's.
The safest place to come across a bear remains the Greenfield Highlands, near the Abyssal Nexus, where a bear's presence is guaranteed every 24 hours of gameplay.
How to tame a bear
Once you've found the bear, it's time to tame it. The bear reacts with hostility as you approach, and combat is imminent. You must weaken the bear by dealing enough damage to it.
Note
This can be a lengthy operation, so you'll need to arm yourself with patience.
Once the bear is weakened, you can press the right button (Square/X) to climb on its back. You can use it to attack your opponents. Here are some nice options:
- Use the RT/R2 buttons to order the bear to attack.
- The bear can jump and sprint, making it very effective on the battlefield.
- You can use your usual weapons while riding your bear.
Limitations of bear mounts
Currently, in Crimson Desert, it is impossible to keep a bear as a permanent mount. Even if you tame it, the bear will become hostile again if you get off its back.
Note
You cannot bring the bear back to the stable to "store" it, nor can you equip the bear with a saddle.
Perhaps in the future, the developers at Pearl Abyss will consider an option to make bear mounts permanent, who knows?
