Complete Moonlight Peaks Guide: Cleaning and Decorating Your House

When you first arrive in Moonlight Peaks, your house looks more like an abandoned shed than a home. Rocks in a corner, leaves everywhere, cheap decor nobody actually chose - you'll need to clean all that up before you can place anything useful. Good news: it's quick, and you can do it right from the start of the game, with no particular prerequisites.

Clearing rocks, leaves, and plant debris

In one corner of the main room, you'll find a pile of rocks. Nothing complicated: open the tool wheel, select your pickaxe, and hit it. It uses up energy, so if you've got other things planned for the day, manage your priorities. But after a few hits, the corner is cleared.

Same mechanic, different tool: the piles of leaves, grass, and other plant debris scattered around the room are cleared with the scythe. Head back to the tool wheel, select it, and slash away. Every pile removed means more space gained - and honestly, your house already feels better. Don't you think?

Getting rid of the original decorations

The house comes with a few decor items already placed. You're not required to keep them - and frankly, they're rarely to our taste. You have several options:

• Store in your inventory: switch to build mode, highlight the item, then select Place in Inventory. Once it's in your inventory, you can choose Store to put it in the house's storage - it stays available if you change your mind.
• Sell: toss them into the sell chest if you don't want them anymore. It's always a few coins recovered.
• Give as a gift: these items can also be used as gifts for NPCs. Handy for boosting affinity without spending anything.

A small detail that matters

The Place in Inventory option goes through build mode, not a simple click. If you're trying to interact directly with the item without activating that mode, it won't work.

Decorating and upgrading your house

Once the cleaning is done, it's time for the real decorating. There are two ways to furnish your interior: crafting or buying.

To craft, start by getting blueprints from the various shops in the game. Once you have them, you can craft the corresponding items at the workbench. It's often more economical in the long run, but it requires resources.

If you'd rather buy directly, several vendors offer ready-to-place decor:

• Yabbis, the toad merchant
• Sabrina's weekend market
• Third Eye Threads
• Local festivals, like the Lovage Festival

Honestly, festivals are often the best spots to find unique pieces. Keep an eye out as soon as an event shows up on the calendar.

And to really expand your play space, you'll need to think about upgrading the house itself - otherwise you'll quickly run out of room to set up your crafting stations and everything else. This upgrade isn't unlocked from day one, but it's a goal to keep in mind as soon as you've cleaned up what's already there.
