In brief

Big Walk features 12 trophies that are accessible without much hassle, most of which unlock naturally as you progress. A few end-game achievements do require some preparation, however, and some demand individual validation from each player in the group.

Big Walk is nothing like a punishing game, but its 12 trophies still require you to follow a bit of a checklist if you want to unlock everything without spending three runs on it. They all start with the word "big", and the good news is that most of them come naturally as you progress through the puzzles with your group. A couple of end-game trophies, however, deserve a bit of preparation.

The puzzles can be solved in whatever order you want, so nothing stops you from ticking off these objectives as you go rather than hunting them one by one. One small detail worth noting: some trophies require each player to perform the action individually in order to unlock it on their end.

Trophies tied to basic exploration

  • Big Walk - Cross the red drawbridge. All you have to do is solve the four puzzles in the starting hub to open up access to the rest of the island. Finish the tutorial with your group and the trophy pops on its own.
  • Big Pack - Wear a backpack. The first backpack is found right after the red drawbridge as you leave the hub. Equip it on any member of the group to free up the hands of whoever's carrying it. A single equipped backpack is enough, no need to find several to unlock the trophy.
  • Big Help - Wear an item on your hip. Look for the belt in the same structures as the backpacks. Once found, you can attach a radio to it to listen to music while walking, or a walkie-talkie to stay in touch with the group outside the proximity chat zone.

Trophies tied to towers and their mechanics

  • Big Tunnel - Enter a large tunnel. Solve the puzzle to get the Yellow Key, open the Yellow Tunnel with it, then physically walk inside. Careful, simply seeing it doesn't trigger anything: your character actually has to enter it.
  • Big Ride - Take the train. Once you have the Blue Key in hand via its dedicated puzzle, use it on the lock near the Train to get it running again. Jump into a carriage while it's moving to validate the trophy.
  • Big Sit - Take the chairlift. Complete the steps of the Green Tower puzzle, insert the key into the chairlift, then wait for a seat to come by so you can hop in.
  • Big Climb - Reach the highest point. Once the Green Tower's chairlift is activated and ridden (which unlocks the previous trophy along the way), keep climbing the surrounding slopes up to the highest visible summit. Each player must stand there individually to receive the trophy.
  • Big View - Visit the map room. It becomes accessible once the Red Tower is fully solved. Follow the upper tunnel and you'll come across a map of the island.
  • Big Makeover - Get all shiny. Finish the Yellow Tower to unlock the tunnels beneath the island. Follow the inner maze until you find a second Lounge offering three additional colors: gold, silver, and bronze.

Hidden end-game trophies

These three trophies come into play at the end of the game. We're deliberately keeping the description brief so as not to spoil the progression too much, but here's the essential info to unlock them.

  • Big Wall - Go beyond the wall. The Black Tower is an end-game puzzle, and you literally have to go past the wall's physical boundary while working on it to validate the trophy.
  • Big Goodbye - Finish the game. Solve all the puzzles and reach the first ending after completing the Black Tower.
  • Big Game - Fully complete the game. You need to obtain absolutely every trophy in Big Walk, which also means clearing the post-game content that sends you back to tougher versions of the early-game puzzles.

Nothing insurmountable on this list: the difficulty mostly comes from having to coordinate these objectives with a group, rather than struggling with any one particular puzzle. If you regularly play with the same crew, you might as well divide up the trophies that require individual validation so you don't leave anything on the table by the end of the session.

Frequently asked questions

Can you get the trophies in any order?
Yes, all the puzzles can be solved in whatever order you like, except for the three end-game trophies, which come about naturally as you progress. Nothing forces you to chase one in particular before the others.
Do some trophies require each player to act individually?
Absolutely. For example, Big Climb and Big Goodbye require each member of the group to perform the action themselves in order to receive the trophy. Coordinate with your crew so no one misses out at the end.
Are there any trophies that are really hard to unlock?
No, none of them are punishing. The difficulty mainly comes from group coordination rather than the puzzles themselves. Big Game is the most demanding since it requires all the other trophies, including the post-game content.
Can you unlock the equipment trophies by finding several of them?
No, a single backpack or a single belt is enough. Equip the item on any member of the group and the trophy is yours.

Key takeaways

  • Most of the trophies fall into place on their own as you solve the puzzles in whatever order you prefer.
  • Three hidden end-game trophies require a minimum of planning so you don't miss them.
  • Some achievements require each player to perform the action individually in order to unlock them on their own end.
  • The puzzles have no set order, which lets you check off objectives progressively without unnecessary grinding.
