Warframe: Prime Resurgence Brings Back Baruuk Prime and Revenant Prime — How to Get Them Without Spending a Dime

While all eyes are on Amir's Shockwave, the new Nightwave Mix launched on August 12, a considerably more profitable rotation has been running in parallel since August 6: the Prime Resurgence has brought Baruuk Prime and Revenant Prime back into the Origin System.

Digital Extremes presents the operation without beating around the bush: "whether you're a new Tenno just starting your adventure or a veteran returning to combat, this rotation gives you the opportunity to instantly expand your Arsenal with Regal Aya". The key word is instantly — and that's also what makes the system misleading.

Understanding Prime Resurgence before spending anything

Prime Resurgence is not a paid store, contrary to what many new players believe. It's a two-entry system, and one of the two is entirely free.

The paid route goes through Regal Aya purchased with premium currency. It's fast, it's immediate, and it's what the announcement highlights.

The free route goes through the Aya you earn by playing, then converted into relic packs via the dedicated vendor. It takes time, but it costs strictly nothing and gives access to exactly the same catalogue.

The distinction is crucial because it changes the question you should be asking yourself. It's not "are these two Warframes worth their price?", it's "do I want to farm them now, while they're available?" — a Prime Warframe that leaves rotation becomes unavailable again, and the next return window can take months.

Baruuk Prime: the pacifist who hits the hardest

Digital Extremes describes him as a "master of restraint", who "embodies the perfect balance between pacifism and devastating force". Behind the promotional phrasing lies a very particular mechanic that needs to be understood before farming him.

Baruuk's principle is to calm the battlefield, disarm his enemies, and unleash colossal power once his limits are reached. In other words, this is a Warframe that rewards restraint: the more you neutralize instead of kill, the more powerful the final unleashing becomes.

The studio sums up well who he's aimed at: "if you favor a thoughtful approach capable of turning into an irresistible force". Simply put, this isn't a Warframe for players in a hurry, and he's probably the less suited of the two for a beginner Tenno — not because he's weak, but because his gameplay loop punishes natural reflexes.

Revenant Prime: the safe bet

Revenant Prime is presented as an "immortal Eidolon force" that "turns his enemies' power against them". His gameplay comes down to three verbs: mesmerize his opponents, steal their strength, sow chaos.

Of the two, this is the one to pick up first if you're hesitating — and for a reason that has nothing to do with the numbers. Revenant has a self-sufficient survival loop: he doesn't need to be well-equipped to hold his own, which makes him an ideal tool for tackling content above his level. Baruuk, on the other hand, only shows his full potential once leveled up and properly understood.

For a player returning after a break or discovering the game, the rational order is therefore: Revenant Prime first, Baruuk Prime second.

How to farm Aya for free, in practice

Three principles are worth more than an exhaustive list of missions.

First, Aya drops from Void Fissure missions. This is the regular source, and it has the advantage of making you progress on other things at the same time — relic opening, resources, affinity.

Second, don't scatter your openings. The classic mistake is to open everything that comes your way hoping to land on the right piece. Target the components you're missing, and trade rather than open at random: the player-to-player market is much more efficient than luck.

Third, do it now. That's the real advice for this rotation. The Aya you accumulate doesn't expire, but the available catalog does change. There's no point stockpiling a reserve for later if the Warframes you were targeting have left rotation in the meantime.

The calendar trap: two different clocks

This is the point the French-speaking community systematically misses, and it applies to the whole period.

There are currently three Warframe pieces of content running at the same time, with completely different lifespans:

• The Nightwave series "Amir's Wrath", opened on August 12: seasonal. What you don't unlock before it closes is lost — and Digital Extremes hasn't announced an end date.
• Tales & Frontiers: Belated: permanent. A permanent addition to the KIM system, no rush.
• Prime Resurgence: rotating. Neither perishable nor permanent — it will come back, but no one knows when.

This dictates a clear hierarchy for the next two weeks. If your play time is limited, put it into the Nightwave's weekly Acts, which expire. Prime Resurgence comes second, because it will return someday. Tales & Frontiers comes last, because it will never leave.

And the Baruuk Shaoshi Collection

Released the same day as the new Nightwave, the Baruuk Shaoshi Collection is a cosmetic set, with no effect on stats. The pairing makes sense from a commercial standpoint — offering a Baruuk look at the same time Baruuk Prime returns to rotation — but don't confuse the two products: one is a Warframe, the other is a skin. Buying the collection doesn't give you the Warframe.

What to do this week

1. First check your permanent weekly Acts from Nightwave. These are the ones that accumulate instead of expiring, and they take priority over everything else.
2. Target Revenant Prime first if you have neither one nor the other: its self-sufficient survivability makes it immediately usable.
3. Farm Aya on Void Fissures, taking advantage of the fact that you're already there for your Acts.
4. Trade rather than open at random the relics you don't need.
5. Don't wait: Prime Resurgence has no announced end date, which is not the same as an unlimited duration.
