Warframe Jade Shadows: Constellations - Should you choose Ryoku or Vena

In Warframe, during the "Jade Shadows: Constellations" quest, you can choose to ally yourself with one of two protoframes, Ryoku or Vena. Let's look together at the consequences of this choice.

Ryoku: The strategist

Ryoku is often considered a strategist, and his ship, though caught in an ambush, can offer interesting tactical advantages. If you choose to lend him your support, organization and strategy are in the spotlight, but Ryoku also offers additional interesting advantages:

• His combat abilities favor defense. 
• He has the ability to perform tactical maneuvers.
• His equipment is unique and tied to his character.

Vena: The living machine

Vena is described as a living machine with a fascinating aesthetic and abilities. Her ship is designed for attack and speed, which may appeal to fans of dynamism. Vena's assets:

• Fabulous offensive abilities.
• Surprising speed and agility.
• A protoframe whose design leaves no one indifferent.

The beginning of the story

To start the Jade Shadows: Constellations quest, you need to go to Uranus Proxima. Once in this system, you will be asked to choose between Scoria's Angel or The Kuva Wytch.

This choice will determine the missions you will have to complete. If you choose to pursue Scoria's Angel, then you will be allying with Vena. If you choose The Kuva Wytch, then you will be coming to the aid of Ryoku. The missions will de facto put you in competition with the other protoframe.

Favor tokens

Depending on your choices, you will earn favor tokens. Helping Ryoku will earn you Emerald tokens, while supporting Vena will earn you Crimson tokens, which can be exchanged with the vendor at Pontis Tower once the quest is completed. The tokens you collect can be used to obtain items related to the signature weapons of Sirius and Orion, or to upgrade your Railjack crews for other missions.  

Tip

To maximize your gains, focus on one type of mission. Even though you will encounter both protoframes throughout the campaign, specializing in a single mission type will let you optimize your returns on investment.

Skirmish missions

The skirmishes available from Uranus Proxima are a good way to test your skills: these are short, intense missions that will let you get familiar with the abilities of the protoframe you have chosen.

The ships

Another point to consider is the differences between Ryoku's and Vena's ships: Vena's ship is designed to be a true battlefield, whereas Ryoku's ship leans more toward defense and strategy. The choice between Ryoku or Vena will depend on your playstyle; if you prefer a fast, offensive charge, Vena will be your best choice, whereas Ryoku will suit the strategist or planning enthusiast better.
