Patrick Star and Ice Spice Fortnite: how to get them

Patrick Star is landing in Fortnite as a Sidekick - not a playable skin, then - and he's arriving alongside a new Bikini Bottom-themed Ice Spice cosmetic. All of this is available until August 3, 2026 at 01:00 (French time), after which the items will disappear from the shop (for an unspecified duration). No particular requirements: you just need V-Bucks and access to the item shop.

Patrick Star Sidekick: 1,800 V-Bucks

Patrick can be bought directly from the item shop for 1,800 V-Bucks. That's pricey for a Sidekick, but the content partly justifies the cost. Bill Fagerbakke, Patrick's real voice actor from the animated series, recorded original lines for the game. That changes everything in terms of authenticity.

By buying the Sidekick, you also unlock additional cosmetics through the Sidekick Points system:

If you want to go all-in on wave 2 of the SpongeBob SquarePants x Fortnite collab, the bundle is clearly the option to go for. It groups together all the items from this wave for 3,400 V-Bucks, compared to 8,700 V-Bucks if you buy them all separately - a stated saving of 5,300 V-Bucks.

Buy separately or as a bundle?

The answer depends on what you're after. If you're only interested in Patrick, 1,800 V-Bucks for the Sidekick is clean and simple. If the Bikini Bottom Ice Spice skin also tempts you, do the math: those two items alone already come to 3,000 V-Bucks. For 400 V-Bucks more, the bundle gets you the remaining 9 items. The choice is pretty quickly made.

On the other hand, if you're only interested in one or two specific items - the Jellyfish Net or the K-BLUB, for example - buying individually still makes sense and avoids paying for content you'll never use.
