Outbound Vehicles: Which One Should You Choose? Our Tips

In Outbound, the choice of your vehicle is crucial as it will shape the rest of your adventures. In this article, we'll go over the different options available and help you find the right vehicle, meaning the one that best suits you.

The vehicles available in Outbound

At the start of your adventure in Outbound, you'll have a choice between three main vehicles. If you own the "School Bus Adventures" DLC, it's possible to access a fourth vehicle. Here's a summary of the options:

1. The Classic

The Classic vehicle is a balanced choice that offers decent performance in several categories.

• Build space: A bit above average, which makes it easier to erect structures.
• Carrying capacity: Average, which is just enough to carry a reasonable amount of resources.
• Handling: Slightly below average, which can create difficulties during certain tricky maneuvers.

2. The Pathmaker

The Pathmaker is a smaller vehicle, suited to extreme explorers.

• Build space: Below average, which limits building possibilities.
• Carrying capacity: Slightly above average, which allows you to gather resources.
• Handling: Above average, which makes it easier to navigate difficult environments.

3. The Big One

The Big One is made for comfort, and space.

• Build space: Nearly at maximum, allowing you to create enormous constructions.
• Carrying capacity: Above average, which is perfect for players who like to collect resources.
• Handling: Below average, which can make control a bit tense at times. 

4. The Schoolie

The Schoolie is a fully customized school bus, and it only exists in the DLC. 

• Build space: Practically at maximum, giving you a great deal of freedom to build.
• Carrying capacity: Huge, allowing you to carry a large quantity of resources.
• Handling: Below average, like the Big One.

So, which vehicle should you choose?

The choice of vehicle mainly depends on your playstyle and what you prioritize. If you like to explore and gather resources, then go for the Big One or the Schoolie. Their huge carrying capacity will let you bring more items, and therefore make fewer trips. 

If you prefer a vehicle that can maneuver better in difficult environments, the Pathmaker is the best choice. Sure, it has less build space, but its increased handling will let you navigate otherwise much trickier terrain. 

If you need a mix between building and hauling, the Classic is a good choice: it's a compromise that will suit several types of playstyles.

Tip

If you have absolutely no idea how you're going to play, the Classic also seems to be the best choice, or at least the most forgiving one!
