inZOI: the complete high school guide — classes, exams, clubs, prom, and graduation (2026)

The playable high school arrived in inZOI with the v0.9.0 update, rolled out on June 19, 2026. It's not just a decorative building: your teenage Zois actually enroll, follow a schedule, take exams, join a club, go to prom, and graduate before becoming young adults. This is, by far, the biggest gameplay addition since Early Access.

Six weeks later, the system has been stabilized. The v0.9.1 (June 19), v0.9.2 (June 25), v0.9.3 (July 1st), v0.9.4 (July 9), v0.9.5 (July 15), and v0.9.6 (July 30) patches fixed most of the first week's oddities: a Zoi not taking their exam, natural disasters canceling the schedule in a loop, club outfits not unlocking, non-graduated students displayed as graduated. As of August 6, 2026, the current version is v0.9.6.

Where the high schools are located and how to enroll your Zoi

Krafton has added a school lot in each of the three cities: Dowon (Youngsung High School), Bliss Bay (Bliss Bay Public School), and Cahaya (Harmony). The names of the establishments remain in English in the French client.

Enrollment is automatic: any Zoi who reaches the teen stage is assigned to a school. But be careful, each active high school has a limited capacity. Once it's reached, excess Zois are switched to an off-screen high school — the

A typical high schooler's week

Classes run Monday to Friday, roughly from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The schedule is individual and alternates subjects before and after lunch, with a rotation from one day to the next. Five categories of classes are on the program, according to the official patch notes: science, arts, skills, physical education and general education.

During each period, your Zoi gets a small list of tasks to complete in class: listen to the lesson, participate, take notes, handle equipment. The more seriously they apply themselves, the more their academic progress rises. At noon, head to the cafeteria: the tray can be picked up from the staff member or taken directly from the counter. A locker is assigned upon entering the school — remember it, it will come in handy at prom time.

In the evening, homework appears: read a specific book, practice a skill, write a text. Nothing forces you to do it, but it directly affects the grade average and boosts skills at the same time. It's the best return on investment in the whole school life: a teen who does their homework every night raises their skills without spending a single hour of free time on it.

Thursday exams and diplomas with honors

The appointment not to be missed falls every Thursday: it's exam day. The overall grade is calculated from the results of these tests and general behavior in class. A Zoi who listens, participates, and revises at home the night before Thursday earns good grades without difficulty.

The stakes go beyond mere appearances. A student with excellent results can be distinguished as graduating with honors during the graduation ceremony — and this honors distinction then grants a bonus during job interviews. Since v0.8.0 on April 29, 2026, the new careers (research specialist, IT developer, construction expert, music producer, journalist in Dowon and Bliss Bay, travel agent in Cahaya) require applying, going through an interview, and making a good impression. A well-managed education is therefore the best springboard toward these jobs.

Warnings and expulsion: the real pitfalls

The system punishes, and this is where many playthroughs go off the rails. Insufficient grades trigger warnings, then outright expulsion. Repeated tardiness and absences also lead to a meeting with the teacher. According to community reports, three missed days are enough to tip a student into expulsion, and an expelled Zoi cannot re-enroll at the same school.

Three reflexes help avoid disaster:

• Never leave a teen completely on their own on weekday mornings: a low sleep meter is enough to make them miss the start of school.
• Keep an eye on the absence counter in the school app, not on your memory of the playthrough.
• Watch out for natural disasters: they used to massively cancel school days before the v0.9.2 patch on June 25, which reduced their frequency to make schooling more reliable.

Dropping out of school remains possible, with no penalty on relationships, but your Zoi loses the skill progression gained through classes and homework. Best reserved for openly rebellious characters.

Clubs: the 12 extracurricular activities, city by city

Four types of clubs exist, each with different names depending on the school. All require a minimum level 2 in the associated skill before you can apply — build it up beforehand, otherwise the join button will stay grayed out. To join a club, open the school app, go to the tab dedicated to clubs, then confirm membership. Signing up unlocks a dedicated outfit in Create a Zoi — if it doesn't appear, exit and re-enter the editor; a bug fixed in v0.9.2 used to prevent the unlock. Sessions take place at the end of the day, generally on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays according to player feedback: make sure these days actually appear on your Zoi's schedule, otherwise they'll never be able to attend.

Choosing a club isn't purely cosmetic. The cooking club raises the Cooking skill, very lucrative for a career in food service or running a shop; the computer club feeds into Programming, the backbone of the freelance missions like online creation and selling added in v0.8.0.

Prom, how it works

Prom takes place on Saturday. There are two ways to go with a date: strike up a conversation with the Zoi you're interested in and ask them directly to be your prom partner, or slip a note into their locker. The second method is more reliable when the relationship is still lukewarm, since it doesn't depend on a successful social interaction in the moment.

On site, the Prom King and Queen are chosen by vote. A Zoi who's very well socially integrated, with a high reputation gauge and a wide circle of friends at school, is by far the favorite. After the evening, the most popular students receive invitations to after-prom parties — an excellent accelerator for romantic relationships right before the transition to adulthood.

Version 0.9.0 also added ambitions dedicated to teenagers: four in total, two achievement-oriented and two rebellion-oriented, each with its own focus. Pick it right when starting high school, not three days before graduation.

High school and part-time jobs: what's actually possible

Many players keep repeating that a teen has to drop out of school to work. That hasn't been true since v0.8.0. The official patch notes are explicit: "School and Business have been separated from Career and turned into independent categories," and all three can be assigned to the same Zoi at the same time as long as the schedules don't overlap. In case of conflict, the priority order is fixed: school, then career, then business. The Zoi Card even displays occupation status in each of the four categories: school, career, business and freelance.

In practice, with classes running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., only evening jobs and freelance work fit into the schedule. The freelance license is obtained via the home computer and grants access to delivery, creation, publishing and online selling missions: it's the ideal option for a high schooler who wants to build up a nest egg in Miaous without putting their diploma at risk.

What remains in English in the French version

The French version translates most of the school system — high school, locker, cafeteria, prom, Prom King and Queen, graduation ceremony, school app — but a few elements remain in English: the names of establishments and clubs, as well as Canvas, ModKit, Smart Zoi and the term cheerleading. The French patch notes published by Krafton are machine-translated and contain noticeable typos ("éducation Corpulence" for physical education, "toile" for Canvas): trust the in-client labels, not those on the website.

What's next?

Krafton is preparing an update for late August 2026, under the "Fundamentals First" doctrine: priority given to foundations, fixes and performance rather than to flashy new features. The July 31 dev journal mainly details the overhaul of autonomy, with a goal of around 90% of actions actually tied to the purpose of visiting a location versus 10% of random behaviors; the studio specifies that commercial lots and schools are the subject of a separate development plan.

Until then, the best use of high school remains to treat it as career preparation rather than a mere interlude. Level up two club skills to level 2 before entering sophomore year, do homework every evening, don't miss a single Thursday, earn honors, and your young adult will enter working life with a real edge in interviews and an already well-filled address book. That's exactly what the system rewards.
