inZOI 2026: mastering Create a Zoi and generative AI

inZOI, the Sims competitor from Krafton and developed by the in-house studio inZOI Studio, is banking on a strong promise: to offer players a character editor of unprecedented finesse, boosted by generative AI. Since its early access release in March 2025 and the successive updates arriving through 2026, the Create a Zoi tool has been enriched with dozens of options and "smart" functions that redefine personal storytelling. This guide takes a complete tour of the creation studio to help you master every slider, every prompt and every community tool.

Create a Zoi: the most detailed toolbox of its kind

Unlike a simple preset selector, Create a Zoi (often abbreviated CAZ) offers more than 250 individual customization options. The interface is divided into four main tabs — Body, Face, Hair & Makeup and Outfits — in which each parameter can be manipulated with the mouse directly on the 3D model. Right-clicking on an area (chin, cheekbone, iris…) activates a control point that you simply drag to refine the shape.

Two input modes coexist: highly precise numerical sliders, and Sculpt, which lets you grab the geometry of the face like clay. The most perfectionist players will appreciate the ability to locally save a Zoi Preset, a Face Preset, or a complete outfit, then reload them onto another resident. Sculpting a believable face: the settings that matter

inZOI's facial modeling is built on a deep learning algorithm trained on thousands of real human morphologies, which explains the variety achieved. Focus first on the overall proportions — forehead height, jaw width, eye position — before refining the details. Hair strands can now be colored by groups, making balayage, ombre and fantasy tips possible without external mods.

On the skin side, the color chart offers more than thirty base shades, each adjustable via a saturation and brightness slider. You can also layer on stratified makeup (foundation, blush, lipstick, eyeliner) with independent opacity control. Tattoos, meanwhile, are applied via a layer system, with rotation, scaling and opacity — handy for drawing a full sleeve or a detailed back piece.

Body, silhouette and poses: beyond the standards

Body morphology is adjusted by zone (chest, waist, hips, calves, arms) without imposed typologies. inZOI accepts silhouettes outside the usual norms, including very slim or fuller measurements, and body hair can be added or removed. A Voice tab lets you choose the pitch independently of the displayed gender, a detail that matters for creators of inclusive stories and for cinematics.

To test your creation, activate Pose mode: your Zoi can strike more than a hundred preset poses, or generate a custom pose from a reference image thanks to the AI Emotes function. Simply import a photo (a dance posture, a sports gesture) for the AI to extract an animation that's immediately usable in the studio.

Outfits and AI textures: your wardrobe on demand

This is probably the most iconic feature of the editor. Select an item of clothing, click on My Texture then on the four-pointed star icon: a text field appears. Describe the desired pattern — "watercolor tropical leaves on a cream background", "neon purple and green checkerboard", "gold baroque floral embroidery" — confirm, and the AI generates the texture within seconds, automatically mapping it onto the mesh of the selected clothing.

Krafton states that these textures are generated entirely locally on your PC: no data is sent to the cloud, with the notable exception of Smart Zoi. The models were trained exclusively on Krafton assets and royalty-free material, which drastically limits the risk of plagiarism. To maximize your chances of getting a clean pattern, be very descriptive: mention the graphic style (watercolor, pixel art, vector), the color palette and the density of the pattern — vague prompts often produce blurry textures.

The 3D Printer: turning your photos into objects and accessories

The 3D Printer takes customization even further. From the City view, enter your Zoi's home, open Build mode, select the 3D Printer tool and import an image (JPG or PNG). The AI extracts the object's silhouette, generates a mesh, then lets you choose its status: a floor-placeable furniture piece, a trinket to display on a shelf, or a wearable accessory — handbag, hat, jewelry — to equip on your Zoi.

It's the best way to import objects that would be impossible to model by hand: a real work of art, a family stuffed toy, a vintage vinyl record... inZOI keeps these creations in your personal catalog, and you can reposition them on any lot. The most ambitious creators even produce entire collections (art deco furniture, retro-futuristic gadgets) and publish their sources on Canvas for the community.

Canvas: share, discover, remix

Canvas is the user-generated content (UGC) platform built into inZOI. It features complete Zois, faces, outfits, rooms, entire lots, and 3D-printed objects. From the game's home page, a dedicated tab lets you browse, filter by category and download with a single click. Downloaded Zois then appear in the Zoi Presets section of the studio, ready to be adapted to your liking.

Before publishing, first make sure your creation respects copyright (Krafton actively moderates copied content). Add a title, a description in French, precise tags and select an eye-catching thumbnail: these are the elements that will make the difference in Canvas recommendations. The like and download counter feeds a reputation gauge that highlights your best models on the creators' home page.

Facial Capture and Smart Zoi: AI in the service of life

Two other AI building blocks extend the experience once your Zoi is finished. Facial Capture uses Unreal Engine's Live Link Face app (recent iPhone or iPad equipped with a TrueDepth camera) to transfer your own expressions onto your avatar in real time: smiles, winks, pouts, raised eyebrows... the immersion for videos and cutscenes is stunning. Motion Capture goes through ThreeDPoseTracker or Warudo to capture body movements using a simple webcam.

Smart Zoi, finally, is the only AI feature that uses the cloud. Based on a small Mistral NeMo Minitron language model (500 million parameters) and NVIDIA ACE technology, it gives your inhabitants genuine decision-making autonomy: they take initiative, hold contextual conversations, and enrich their social lives without micromanagement. Ideal for watching a line of Zois evolve across several generations.

Advanced tips for creating without compromise

A few recommendations to avoid frustration. First, regularly export your Zois as a local preset before testing a radical change: the undo function doesn't go back indefinitely. Next, keep in mind that AI textures are mapped onto existing UVs — highly directional patterns (vertical lines, text, strict checkerboards) can distort on curved areas; favor organic or random patterns instead.

For fashion photography and videos, enable the free camera (F5 key) then switch to manual depth of field; skin shading takes on a whole new dimension with DLSS ray-tracing enabled. Finally, note down your AI generation seeds (they appear in the texture history panel): Krafton mentioned in 2026 a non-monetary system for exchanging these seeds between creators, an evolution that should considerably enrich the UGC scene by the end of the year.
