Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Guide - Healing and Potions
In brief
This comprehensive guide explores all the healing systems available in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, from Chroma Elixirs usable during exploration to Healing Tints in combat. Discover how to optimize your party's survival by mastering rests at Expedition Flags and the various healing skills available.
In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, your team's survival often depends on good healing (as in many other games, you might say!). Even the most skilled players will need to heal their characters after tough battles. This guide presents the various healing solutions available, whether you're in the middle of an encounter or exploring.
Ways to heal outside of combat
Preparation time is essential in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Between two battles, several options are available to fully restore your team's health.
Chroma Elixirs are your first and only line of defense while exploring the game's hostile environments. These consumables can instantly heal your entire party. At the start of the adventure, you only have a single Elixir, but you'll find it again each time you rest at an Expedition Flag. To use a Chroma Elixir, one or the other manipulation is possible depending on your platform:
- On PC, press Q then hold Q
- On PlayStation, press Triangle then hold Triangle
- On Xbox, press Y then hold Y.
Resting is also an effective way to recover. Expedition Flags, scattered across the game's various maps, not only allow you to save, but also fully restore your team's health. You'll also find an Expedition Flag in the Camp, accessible while crossing the Continent, the world map that lets you travel between the different areas of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Healing techniques in combat
When you're in the heat of battle, the methods for healing differ but remain just as vital. Healing Tints, which are all red in color, represent the main resource for healing your characters in combat. To use them, you must, on a character's action turn, select "Items", choose a Healing Tint then confirm which character to heal. Be careful, using a Healing Tint, whatever it may be, ends the character's turn. As with Chroma Elixirs, Healing Tint charges are replenished each time you rest at an Expedition Flag. You'll be able to improve your ability to acquire Healing Tints and their effects through Healing Tint Fragments and Health Forms collected during your adventure.
Note
In combat, certain characters can also provide healing through their skills. At your disposal are numerous healing tools: the "Recovery" and "Fire" skills for Gustave, "Healing Light" for Lune, all valuable tools to acquire during your visits to Expedition Flags for the strength of your team.

Using potions and other consumables
Healing Tints aren't the only potions available in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. You also have Energy Tints (blue) and Revival Tints (green) at your disposal, each with its own particular use.
You'll first need Energy Tints to restore your characters' skill points, necessary to use their most powerful abilities. Fallback should also be quickly used for Revival Tints, important for bringing back to life a team member who died in combat. As with Healing Tints, a Tint is used by pressing "Items" on a character's turn. For Healing Tints or Revival Tints, their charges are replenished when you rest at an Expedition Flag, and you can also increase their maximum quantity by collecting the corresponding Tint Fragments.
Tip
If despite all this you're still struggling to survive using these solutions, consider setting the game to a lower difficulty level in the Gameplay Settings to familiarize yourself with the dodges and parries of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 before taking on tougher challenges.
It's important to master the healing options that can be counted among the many ways to progress in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, with Chroma Elixirs, resting at Expedition Flags, various Tints, and healing skills all being among the methods to keep your team alive amid the many dangers lying in wait for you.
