Big Walk Salon: where to find it to customize your appearance

From the moment you launch a game, Big Walk drops you into the body of a randomly generated creature, a bird-insect hybrid made up of three sections. If the result isn't to your liking, know that there's a solution. But be warned: you can't repaint yourself, you need a teammate to do it for you.

Where the Salon is located

You always start out in a play area that serves as the central hub. It's also your spawn point every time you restart a game, so you'll quickly get to know the area by heart.

When you leave the hub for the Outback for the first time, take note of the scenery: you'll notably see the puzzles of the first zone, the ones that unlock the bridge leading to the rest of the island. But the real landmark is the Salon. Hard to miss: a bright green building set between the starting hub and the beach where the bridge is located. It stays visible and lit up even at night.

Practical tip

If your group gets scattered and loses contact via proximity chat, the Salon makes an excellent rallying point. Everyone can spot it from a distance.

What you'll find in the Salon

Once there, head to the beach from the starting zone to access it. Inside, the setup is complete:

• A hanging color palette, somewhat like an eyeshadow palette, with 21 shades available to customize your character.
• Three additional metallic colors, unlocked via an end-of-game puzzle, which also earn you an achievement when you use them.
• An oversized paintbrush placed near the color wall, to pick up and paint with.
• A large mirror in a corner, to judge the result once the work is done.

How to customize your character

Your body is divided into three sections, and you can assign a different color to each. With 21 base shades, that leaves an enormous number of possible combinations.

The twist is that you can't paint yourself. A group member has to do it for you, and vice versa. This forces you to communicate clearly: describe the colors you want, where they should go, and hope your teammate interprets your instructions correctly. It's practically a little cooperation exercise even before tackling the game's actual puzzles.

Once the makeover is done, go check the result in the mirror. If something's off, ask for touch-ups. And above all, don't forget to return the favor: your buddy who just spent five minutes describing shades of green to you fully deserves their turn with the brush.

Since you systematically respawn in the hub, nothing stops you from stopping by the Salon every session to change up your look. No timing constraints, no resources to spend: just an available friend and a bit of patience to understand each other.
