The Atago Bamboo Strike, on the Oshima coast, presents an unexpected additional difficulty: lightning strikes disrupt your concentration. Here's how to approach this challenge and make the most of it.

The Lightning Problem at Atago

As you approach the Atago Bamboo Strike, you'll quickly realize something is wrong. As soon as you start cutting the bamboo, lightning strikes down on you, putting your project on hold. This particular detail makes the challenge nearly impossible to complete.

However, this is not a bug, but rather an environmental puzzle that you need to solve. The lightning is in fact attracted by the weapons stuck in the ground around the training area. In order to focus on your bamboo strike, you must first get rid of this electrical threat.

The solution is relatively simple: pick up and throw all the metal weapons quickly planted in the ground around the area! To do this, approach each weapon, press R2 to grab it, hold L2 and press R2 again to throw it. It doesn't matter where you throw them, you just need to get them away from the bamboo strike area.
