In brief

The Esquisses de Verso is a vast region in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 accessible from level 85 onwards, filled with formidable Chromatic bosses and demanding battles. This guide presents all the bosses of the area, their precise locations and the rewards obtained after defeating them.

The Sketches of Verso is one of the largest zones in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It features various battles against ruthless bosses that will most certainly put you to the test.

To access this region, head East from Lumière. You will need Esquie's submarine diving ability to get there. The recommended minimum level to explore this area is 85 and above. If you are still level 60, we suggest training in the Eternal Tower to reach a sufficient level before venturing here.

The Chromatic Machinapieds

These enemies are upgraded versions of the wheeled enemies you have probably encountered during your adventure. Head to the cave leading to the carousel, where you can obtain Esquie's outfits after talking to the "Very Very Cool Gestral".

In the same large room, head to an entrance that leads down to the Chromatic Machinapieds arena. Its combat style relies on fast attacks that you'll need to parry precisely.

At the end of this fight, you'll receive interesting rewards including Lumicolors and Grand Chroma Catalysts that will let you upgrade your gear!

The Chromatic Franctale

This boss is a boosted version of the two-legged creatures. It's located quite close to the previous boss. From the carousel, instead of heading left, exit the carousel to the right to climb down the rope. You'll spot it at the bottom.

Its arsenal of attacks can be draining if you're not at a sufficient level and your build isn't optimized, otherwise you won't even notice! In combat, the Chromatic Franctale moves around regularly and harasses you with a range of ranged attacks. Defeating this opponent will earn you 5 Lumicolors, as well as 2 Grand Chroma Catalysts.

The Chromatic Barbasucette

To find it, leave the boss arena and climb back up the rope; you'll then gain access to the outside, a stretch of water with a few enemies along the sides. The Chromatic Barbasucette patrols in the center of this lake. Get a bit closer to start the fight: this boss has a sweet but deadly approach, combining ranged strikes with melee assault. Upon victory you'll obtain 5 Lumicolors, 2 Grand Chroma Catalysts, and the Sucetton weapon for Sciel, which will boost the power of her offensive skill.

The Chromatic Unicorn

To locate it, head left from the previous boss and climb the blocks. Once at the top, walk across the wooden beams to cross to the other side. When you see paths to the left and right, take the one on the right to reach the Chromatic Unicorn arena, which stands out for its powerful magical attacks and fast movements. Once defeated, this boss will reward you with 5 Lumicolors, 2 Grand Chroma Catalysts, and the Licorum weapon for Maelle.

The Licornapieds

Unlike the others, the Unicornfoot is not a Chromatic boss. To reach this fight, you need to thoroughly explore Verso's Sketches to find 3 Cake Pieces, in order to open the door with the eyes.

The first will be obtained by solving the Esquie statue puzzle, the second by acquiring the Toy Boat to give to a few specific Gestrals, and the last from the "Very Very Cool Gestral" after riding the carousel with every character.

Once the door is unlocked, follow the path to an interactive train that takes you to a Checkpoint located right next to the boss arena. Defeating the Unicornfoot will reward you with six Grandiose Chroma Catalysts and the Frenzy weapon.

Osquio

Osquio is one of the most complicated fighters in the game, due to an unprecedented mechanic. During the first phase, all it thinks about is chaining hits very quickly, which will force you to parry much more than with its fellow bosses.

The second phase, however, is where the real difficulty lies: as soon as Osquio hits you, you gain a stack of "Marshmallow". Depending on how many hits you've taken, your next attacks will only deal one point of damage until you no longer have any stacks...

To go hunt down this fairly fearsome boss, you need to go to the "Reverie's Path" Checkpoint. With the checkpoint in front of you and the door locked by the "cake" behind you, take the path on the right that leads to a train. Interact with it to be transported to a sub-area where you can trigger this legendary fight.

Winning against Osquio will bring you the Esquiso weapon for Verso, the Osqui outfit and hairstyle for Verso, and a Perfect Chroma Catalyst. You will also gain access to the full Osquio outfit and hairstyle for all characters upon returning, available from the merchant in the area of the new checkpoint.
