The Adventure of Elliot: the 3 endings and New Game+ explained
In brief
The Adventures Of Elliot: The Millennium Tales offers three different endings with specific conditions: the bad ending by simply defeating the boss, the good ending by using a special attack after obtaining the Leytstaf Sword, and the true ending by completing specific events and using perfect guards. Unlocking each one rewards you with an achievement and a save stamp to start over without redoing the game.
The Adventures Of Elliot: The Millennium Tales offers three distinct endings, and the difference between each one sometimes comes down to a single detail. One wrong choice during the final battle, one quest forgotten along the way - and the bad ending is guaranteed. Here's the complete decision tree so you don't miss any of the three conclusions.
Overview of the three endings
The game offers 3 endings, each with its own success conditions. Quick summary before we dive into the details:
| Ending | Main condition | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Bad ending | Defeat the boss with a normal attack | Achievement + save stamp |
| Good ending | Seal the boss with the Leytstaf Sword's charged attack | Achievement + silver stamp |
| True ending | Perfect guards without hitting the boss (multiple conditions required) | Achievement + New Game+ unlock |
Each ending is rewarded with an achievement and grants you a save stamp - meaning you can chain all three without starting over from scratch. Convenient.

Decision tree: which ending should you choose based on your preparation?
Before rushing toward the final boss, ask yourself one question: have you completed all three ages and retrieved Mao's Pendant? If the answer is no, the true ending is out of reach for this run. If yes, you can choose between all three outcomes. Recommended order: bad ending first to get the stamp, then good ending, then true ending via New Game+. Or go straight for the true ending if you're well prepared from the first playthrough.
Bad ending
Nothing complicated here. Head to the North Tower and defeat the boss with any normal attack. This is the most accessible ending, the one you often get without even meaning to on a first playthrough. It mainly serves as a starting point: the save stamp you obtain lets you jump straight back to this point to attempt the other endings without replaying everything.
Good ending
The good ending requires a bit of preparation, but nothing insurmountable. Two mandatory steps:
- Retrieve the Leytstaf Sword in the Aquatic Ruins.
- Learn the Mystic Seal attack by visiting the three sages.
Once you have both of these, go back to face the boss in the North Tower. During the fight, use the Leytstaf Sword's charged attack to seal it rather than kill it. That's it. You unlock the corresponding achievement and walk away with a silver stamp.
True ending - full conditions
The true ending is the most demanding of the three. And frankly, it deserves to be - it's clearly the conclusion the developers wanted you to see. Here's exactly what you need to have accomplished before entering the final battle:
- Be in possession of the Leytstaf Sword and the Mystic Seal attack.
- Have completed the events of all three ages: Awakening, Magic and Renewal.
- Retrieve Mao's Pendant in Princess Heuria's chamber.
- Have found at least 35 cats - don't overlook this condition, it's a hard blocker.
Once all these conditions are met, the fight against the boss plays out radically differently. Do not hit the boss. Instead, chain perfect guards to trigger memories. Each successful perfect guard reveals a narrative fragment. After a certain number of triggered memories, the fight concludes on its own and you unlock the true ending as well as New Game+ mode.
Warning: if you hit the boss even once during this sequence, you'll automatically switch to the good ending or the bad ending depending on your attack. Keep your hands off the attack button.
New Game+: what changes
New Game+ unlocks exclusively via the true ending. This mode lets you restart the adventure while keeping your progress - equipment, levels, key items. It's also the ideal opportunity to grab any achievements you missed on your first playthrough, particularly the other two endings if you went straight for the true ending. The save stamps obtained at each ending remain accessible, which makes chaining all three endings in New Game+ particularly efficient.
