In brief

The Suspended Ocean hides two organic paint spheres filled with essential resources. These mystical receptacles require you to locate and shoot specific weak points to release their treasures: elixir fragments and dye shards that will make a difference in your battles.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is generous with mysteries and challenges to tackle. Among the many secrets that this incredible game has in store for you, the organic paint spheres hidden within the territory of the Suspended Ocean turn out to be a key element for adventurers seeking invaluable resources. Indeed, these strange receptacles contain precious treasures that could be of great help to you during your explorations. Let's see how to access these mysterious spheres to recover the precious rewards that await you.

The paint spheres of the Flying Waters

The Suspended Ocean is among the most interesting areas of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, because after winning grueling aquatic battles, players will be able to venture into this territory to unearth treasures. It is here that you'll be able to discover organic paint spheres placed on the ground, waiting to be unlocked. To unlock these mystical receptacles, you need to follow the right order. Each sphere is connected to several weak points scattered nearby. You must track down these vulnerable points and shoot at them. Once all the targeted points have been hit, a beam of light strikes the sphere, thus releasing its precious contents. The rewards from the spheres vary and generally consist of precious resources including chroma elixir fragments and resurrection tint shards, which will be essential elements to progress throughout your adventure.

First Paint Sphere: Location and Opening

The first paint sphere is located in the first section of the Suspended Ocean (that makes a certain kind of sense, doesn't it?!). To locate it, follow the main path to an open area dominated by a beautiful whale statue in the center. Positioned at the back of the area, the sphere is close to the right boundary of this room.

To unlock this first sphere, you need to find and shoot three specific weak points, which are:

  • The first is hidden behind a line of reeds to the right of the sphere
  • The second is luminescent on a wall to the left of the sphere overlooking stone columns
  • The last is found on the fin of the whale statue in the center facing the sphere

Once these three points are activated, a beam of light will strike the sphere and you'll be able to collect the reward, a Chroma Elixir Fragment. This magnificent item can heal all members of your team during your travels, it would have been a shame to do without it!

Second paint sphere: location and strategy

The second paint sphere of the Suspended Ocean appears after your reunion with Maelle at the Manor. To access it, leave the Manor and take the path to the right. Continue until you pass the large open area where an enormous anchor stands along with an imposing Cruler blacksmith. Continue along the main path until you discover on your right a small entrance marked by a reddish glow, which will lead you into the Coral Cave of the Suspended Ocean. Go down into the opening then use the grappling hook to get to the other side, you'll end up in an open space under the watch of three large Crulers. The paint sphere is located at the central entrance. While you open the sphere, you have two options: take down the powerful monsters, or opt for a stealthy approach... even if it means quickly opening the sphere and then running off with your loot.

To open this second sphere, you'll need to target three weak points:

  • The first is located right behind the sphere, on the cliff
  • The second is located at the end of a small group of small stone pillars, to the right of the sphere
  • The last is attached to the overhanging underwater mine, facing the sphere, on higher ground

As soon as all are neutralized, this sphere will open to grant you a Resurrection Tint Fragment. This precious item adds a charge to your Resurrection Tint ability during battles, and multiplies your chances of surviving the toughest opponents in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33!
